Have been coming to this place for years, but it's been awhile. Â Showed up with a party of 12 and I will say their dining room is not really made for parties that large. Â They were very helpful and got us seated in about 10 minutes. Â We all had a great time; some pizza lovers and some pasta lovers, but everyone loves their dinner salad (hold the black olives please).
Review Source:Very disappointed in my experience there last Saturday nite. Staff was rude to my wife, two young daughters and me - clearly ready to close shop at 8 pm. Â Waiter didn't check with us to see if we needed anything, the wait staff could be heard planning their evenings while they performed their closing duties and music with repeated profanity blared from the kitchen. Â The staff was quick to greet and speak with patrons dropping in for take out orders, and thank them. Â Unfortunate because the food was actually good - we are relocating to this area and will never return here.
Review Source:I don't get to Puccini's very often, but when I do I always enjoy it. Â I've never had an actual pizza there. Â I typically get a calzone with spinach and mushrooms. Â The portions are a good size, and very tasty. Â This time my friend had the shrimp diablo pasta and I tasted a bite. Â He ordered it mild, but I could tell that if it had been spicy I would have loved it. Â We also got the pepperoni bread, which was good, but not really anything special. Â They also have a nice craft beer selection on tap.
The decor is fun. Â Both of the locations I've been to have the same basic design. Â Our waiter on this visit was really great. Â He recommended a different type of beer for me from what I was going to order, and brought me samples of both. Â I liked his suggestion a lot better than my own.
They offer a substantial selection of vegetarian and gluten free options, too.
My husband and I visited Puccini's after I moved to Indy, knowing it was a sister restaurant to Bucceto's in Bloomington. The menus are the same at both restaurants. We like the sweet lil' razorback pizza, and their antipasto salad is generously portioned and tasty. I have also had the lasagna here and it is excellent. Service has always been pretty good for us, and there is rarely a wait to get a table.
Review Source:Good, reasonable-priced Italian food. I've tried a lot of different items here -- from pastas to pizzas -- and never walked away hungry or disappointed. My personal favorite is a made-to-my-preference calzone. I've only been to the Carmel location and West Lafayette location, and of the two, I preferred the atmosphere (and outdoor seating) in WL. But good food at both.
Review Source:The lunch special is great (salad, slide, and a drink)! They always have a veggie and a meat slice to choose from and the selection is different every day. The salad dressings are really good--my fav is the Italian.
I discovered the 82nd street location while working at my first job. It quickly became a favorite lunch destination for me and my co-workers (we went at least once a week).
When I bought my first house it was within walking distance of this (Carmel) location. I'm not saying this is why I bought that house, but this was definitely a bonus! And this location was close to my new job so I was lucky to be able to keep Puccini's in my lunch routine and quickly got a new group of coworkers hooked.
I used to live practically next door to this location, and gave them a lot of business!
My favorite pizza was the cactus delectus - yellow & red bell peppers, chorizo sausage, chilies, cilantro & jack cheese. Â Absolutely incredible!
Their salads totally rock too. Â Their homemade ranch is the best I've ever had, hands down!
Unlike my other Puccini's on 116th in Fishers, the Carmel location is a "hit or miss" for me. In my humble opinion, it is a staffing issue. Let's just say that the staff at Fishers Puccini's appears to be a bit more "experienced" than that at the Carmel location.
The few occasions that found me in the Carmel restaurant also found me waiting interminably - really?? for a slice o'day special? How bizzare since that's what is served here at lunch every day. When I did get my food - to go - the slice wasn't the crispy, generous and tasty morsel I'm accustomed to and my salad was slim pickens in the "veggies beyond lettuce" department.
But, but, but.....I can forgive the odd lapse in the kitchen - my lunch was not disgusting or inedible, just not as good as what I'm used to. On the other hand, the service.....
The staff had one large table and maybe one or two other smaller tables going on my last visit. I still had to wait to be greeted and have my order taken. Also, I'm pretty sure my order was ready from the kitchen's standpoint long before the server brought it out to me where I was waiting. From where I sat, it seemed that the staff was more interested in visiting with each other and making sure their "alternative" hair and clothing was properly arranged for display. They were all nice and attractive young people, but just not on their "A" game in terms of fast, attentive service.
I may be spoiled, but I like the experience at 116th Puccini's much better. Once the Monical's near us opens its doors, Carmel Puccini's may have some stiff competition.
