My wife and I dined here with another couple and had a great experience. The food was excellent, and even though it was a crowded Saturday night, we didn't have to wait too long for a table.
As another Yelper noted, valet parking (though complementary) is the only option here but it's well worth a few bucks considering the tight parking - and it works fine.
Used to love this place but now they're trying to cut costs and are using garbage quality meats. I will go back to the old location in Alpharetta to see if the food is like before but I'm done with this location in Roswell. Waitress was great but manager didn't even stop by to apologize for all the food we sent back.
Review Source:nicely casual and energetic for starters and i liked the chips and salsa with my prickly pear  margarita till i found out it was 12 dollars. food was good but very overpriced.  and a little too much attitude from the waitstaff 3 stars because it was clean and has a certain originality.
Review Source:Father's day dinner here! Â Yours truly as the honored guest! Â Ha! Â Aka I chose the place!
First timer! Â It was great!
I hear peeps complaints on valet... Â But man it is downtown Roswell! Â Be thankful! Â Parking is a pain! Â Or your gonna pay for it! Â Rather drop and get my car at the door. Â And I tip em in and out! Â FYI if your ever gonna screw a valet... Â Do it on the way out! Â Tip on the way in and your car comes quick! Â Heck I managed to lose my ticket and it was no prob! Â
Let's get to the food... Â Course kid had cheese quesadilla... Â Ha! Â He rated high! Â He's an expert in that dish!
I had the chicken buritto americano. Â HUGE. Def a splitable dish! Â Great flavor! Â Had some heat!
They real question you ask of a review is would you come back... Â My response... Â No doubt about it! Â Can't wait to try other menu items!
Came here to see a friend's band play on Memorial Day. Â
Bring cash for the complimentary valet (no self-parking). Â Didn't realize this, but the guy was nice about it when I said I was unaware. Â
Pure Taqueria has a little restaurant area downstairs, and a decent 2nd floor patio on top. Â The stairs to the top seem a little precarious since there's nothing but cable surrounding it, but it's fine unless you're d-r-u-n-k and stumbling around. Â As someone else mentioned, there is only one gender neutral bathroom and it's downstairs. Â The trek from upstairs to downstairs can certainly seem far for some. Â The wait for someone to come out can be even longer. Â At least it's clean. Â
The quesadillas were not your traditional Taco Mac-style plain flour tortilla jammed with cheese and chicken and lettuce on the side. Â The masa turnover with which it was made was delicious and went well with the sides of salsa and guacamole. Â Chips and salsa were pretty standard. Â The house margarita was good but a little sweet. Â Our server was attentive, but nothing memorable or extraordinary.
Will definitely come back if my friend's band is playing again, but otherwise the mandatory valet, distance, and tiny atmosphere would keep me away. Â The upstairs patio would be a good place to meet with friends for drinks if we all lived in the area.
Not a bad place if you're going for drinks and the atmosphere. Â However, the service was slow, the chips were stale and the chicken tacos I ordered were so soggy that they fell apart the moment I picked them up. Â This also happened the last time I was there, but I chalked it up to being a random occurrence. Â After the second time, I'm starting to see its par for the course.
Review Source:It was packed here on a Saturday night, and we were told it would be at least a 30 minute wait. Â However the hostess managed to work us in for a table of two very quickly. Â We only got 2 sips into our margaritas on the rooftop bar (which is awesome when the weather is nice) before the hostess let us know our table was available. Â The food was great, the service was great, and the drinks were good (and a little overpriced). Â I thought the portions were a little meager, but maybe I was just a little hungrier than usual when we showed up. Â Also, the music was really pretty loud downstairs. Â The service and food push my ranking to a 4 star, but I'd give it a 3.5 if I could. Â I'll give this place another try when I can enjoy the rooftop for a little longer.
Review Source:While my friends and I normally frequent the Pure location in Woodstock, we tried this location for a change. Â We didn't eat dinner but just headed to the rooftop to listen to music and order drinks. Â The crowd was ok, the music was ok, but what really stood out was the bartending staff, and not in a good way. Â It was not overly busy but the bartenders did their best to completely ignore our group of four. Â One would think with a relatively slow Saturday night, the bartenders would be anxious to be attentive to earn some tips but just the opposite to the point of being strange. Â Maybe they were all trust fund babies, who knows. Â After finally ordering drinks, I asked my friends to get a cup of water. Â It took three more requests to get some water - amazing. Â We all agreed that that would be the last time we would patronize this particular location. Â If on the very slight chance the owner of this location was interested enough to read reviews of his/her establishment, you need to replace your bartending staff IMMEDIATELY. Â They are killing your business. Â We will make it a point to spread the word.
Review Source:I came here for the Memorial Weekend for a vacation trip with my brother and a few of his friends. I have never been to Georgia, since I am a native from Los Angeles, CA. I came here Sunday night for good food and drinks. We came around 8pm and this place was packed. We had to park in valet which was convenient. It was less than 10 minutes that we were seated. The chips and salsa were good and the drinks were amazing as well. The food was okay, not really an interesting twist on Mexican food but my stomach was pleased.
I loved the decor and how it used to be an old school gas/mechanic building. I felt very comfortable and my waitress was on point with everything a group of 7 could ask for. Later on, we went upstairs and the top floor was breathtaking and so beautiful. The downside about the top floor is that the waitress didn't even ask if we needed anything, I basically had to flag her down to get her attention. ind you on the top deck there was only 25 people max. The other issue I had was the bathroom, was only on  the bottom floor. Now, if I were drunk it would have really sucked climbing up and down the stairs to get to the lower floor just to use the bathroom that only has one stall and a separate bathroom for men and women.
Overall, I had an amazing time and if i were down there again I would definitely come here for good food and great drinks.
The newest installment of Pure on the Northside OTP. First came Alpharetta, then Woodstock, and now the latest incarnation in Roswell to participate in the revitalization that is booming in the area.
Pure took the best of Alpharetta and Woodstock when they designed this location. Decent indoor seating space and bar, with newly added patio and outdoor tables on the ground floor and a massive outdoor rooftop bar and seating opening just a couple weeks ago. The rooftop is larger than the restaurant downstairs and has white lights, live music, and a mix of high tops and couches. Had a great evening in the perfect Spring weather with customers and friends.
Food here is classic Pure. Interesting takes on Mexican and while not the most gourmet I've ever had, it is routinely good and service attentive. Nice selection of beers and cocktails keep the good times flowing.
One thing I hate about this place is the mandatory valet. Drives me nuts. They have space for a combo but choose not too. That's all I'll say
But the rooftop experience here is worth it...
We were crazy excited about this place while it was being built. We live literally around the corner from it and were tickled by the idea of being able to walk over, enjoy copious amounts of margarita, and safely roll back home. We first went a couple days after it opened and had a pretty good time: Music was way too loud and we struggled to hear each other, but we had good service, the food was adequate, and the manager stopped by to check on everyone (and since it was the week before our wedding, she came back to us with complimentary wedding shots "because you're walking home!") It was a fun evening.
We'd been back a few times since then and honestly I felt like the food was lacking. The chips and salsa are quite good, but nothing on the menu grabbed me and whatever I did order seemed soggy and fairly tasteless. The music was still way too loud and everyone's so close together in there it just wasn't a comfortable experience. However! The margaritas are GREAT. I'm a big fan of the frozen peach myself.
They recently added a rooftop deck, and honestly this has salvaged Pure for me. We managed to grab a table up there the other day (come early! It'll fill up quickly with your typical Roswell crowd) and enjoyed some decent nibbles and excellent drinks while listening to live music and watching the talented valet guys play Car Tetris down below. It's like a completely different place up there. Super comfortable with nice furniture (high tables with shade, sectional couches, a long table) and a good bar. Good service too. We'll definitely be back on a sunny day to enjoy it some more!
This place seems packed normally, and I'm not sure why. Â The chips were OK, along with the Salsa, nothing special. Â The queso fundido was very good, and if I have to go back, I will likely just have it as an entree. Â I ordered the chicken quesadilla, which were more like enpanadas, and that would have been fine, but the chicken had no flavor, and was not good at all. Â To make up for the bad entree, they gave me a piece of Key lime pie, which I have to say was the best thing I had. Â I dont' normally like it, but it was a very whipped pie, with just a hint of lime, so it was good. Â I can see where this would be a good place to go and have a drink on a nice day when they have the windows up, or when they get the rooftop deck done, but for lunch or dinner, it was a great disappointment.
Review Source:What can I saw about Pure. Â Pure fun, Pure good food, Pure good times. Well, its a great place to hang with friends. Â I like this location better then the Alpharetta location, the people just are more fun and a bit younger. Â But onto the food. Â Always exceptional. The cerviche is so fresh and always a favorite starter. Â Today I tried the Spicey Grilled Shrimp on corn cakes and my friend had the steak tacos(they looked incredible). Â My dish had great taste due to the spice and the heat due to a cook that knew how to season and grill shrimp and hide plenty of hot peppers. Â To cool down I tried the Tres Leches. Â They could have set the plate on fire with all of the rum in the bowl. Â But the strawberries used for garnish were fresh and delicous, and the dessert on a whole was tasty. Â I'll be back with more friends Pure.
Review Source:Ok so I will cut to the chase. Â Pure is way overpriced for the quality of food. Period. Â For two people, you will be spending on average $75 (incl tip) for 2 entrees, 2 drinks and basic appetizer. Â I do not mind paying this amount, or higher, if the food is great, but lets be honest...read the reviews here. Â Food is bland and you get must better quality at any local TexMex establishment in Roswell/Marietta without having to pay for Pure's overhead in labor. Â Just not worth it, but I guess the wealthier locals simply like the atmosphere there and are ok with the low quality and high prices. Â Skip if you want quality food for a reasonable price.
Review Source:This Pure is no where near as good...food or service wise...as either the Alpharetta or Duluth locations...
After dining at both the Alpharetta and Duluth Pure's...expected this one to be on par with them. Â It is not...the food was quite lacking in flavor and punch and the service, to be kind, was lackadaisical...but, to not be kind, quite bad...it took forever to order and then forever to get the bill and pay.
The best part of the meal was the chips and salsa.
I would advise, since the Alpharetta location is quite nearby...go there.
They won me over and got an additional star I hadn't intended to award. Â My initial impressions weren't that great. First I hate being forced to use valet parking. Then, when I walk into what's to be an upscale establishment, I get a flashback to an elementary school cafeteria with the tiny linoleum-topped tables and hard plastic chairs. I guess it's supposed to be "modern" with all the hard, cold surfaces and thumping dance music and obligatory disco ball overhead.
When we got our drinks, my mood didn't improve. They don't have fountain drinks, and your Diet Coke is going to come in a can with a glass of ice. As I suspected, they never offered to get me a refill, and I had to specifically request one.
The complementary chips and salsa arrived quickly and they were good. Â Nothing spectacular, but I did appreciate the speediness. Â When the food arrived, my impressions improved significantly. Â My wife had a cup of the lentil soup which rich and with a perfect smoky undertone. Â It was garnished with tomatoes and cheese. It looked like feta, but had no flavor, so we're not sure what kind of cheese. Â Her entree was the chicken chipotle tacos which she also found delicious, and as the name suggests, quite spicy. Â The side of black beans were excellent and full of flavor. Â The Spanish rice was nice, but unexciting. Â It's mostly there to balance the fiery foods.
I cannot remember the name of my sandwich (it's a special and not on the menu). Â The waitress described it as the love-child between a Cuban (their Torta Cubana) and a Philly Cheese-steak and I concur. Â It humongous and full of pork, Black Forest ham, poblano peppers, Chiuaua cheese, caramelized onions, jalapenos, and guacamole. Â The ciabatta style bread was soft with a crisped crust and showed true craftsmanship. Â It also came with Spanish rice and a "thimble" of the delicious black beans. Â I also had a side of the jalapeno mac & cheese which featured penne pasta with a rich sauce.
A word of warning: if you're not into spicy foods, their version of spicy is not on the mild side. Â I enjoy spiciness, especially when it actually adds flavor, but be prepared to deal with the afterburn.
So the food won me over, along with the excellent service and attentive management. Â The portions were very generous and the price was good. Â That help me overlook the harsh decor, lack of fountain/refills, and parking situation. It's definitely the best Mexican I've had in a long time.
Another Pure Taqueria - this one with more space, both inside and in the parking lot.
Back when the original opened in Alpharetta, I was all about the fish tacos.  You can read that in my original review (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/pure-taqueria-alpharetta#hrid:fqN3oy8esPijadkk3iVqPA/src:self">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a>).  It's been a few years, and several servings of the tacos, both in Alpharetta and Inman Park.  And even though it's awesome that they now have a 2 taco combo, rather than just 3, they just don't have the same power over me that they used to.  Also, didn't help that I had to ask for the green sauce that usually just comes on the side.  The black beans were somewhat under cooked and not terribly flavorful.  Rice was still nice and fluffy.
This will be my go-to location for Pure, based on the easy access and plentiful space, but I'm not sure I'll be going to Pure as frequently as I used to.
We were so excited to finally eat here, after hearing great things about the downtown Woodstock location. But, it was a big disappointment. LOUD music, it's very difficult to have a conversation, food was mediocre, and my son almost choked on a bone that was found in his quesadilla. The food is overpriced for the quality. If in Roswell, I recommend Tara Humata (off Crabapple and Etris) for much better food and ambiance.
Review Source:I read the other reviews and honestly most of these people are off base with their moderate to harsh reviews. Â I have no connection to the restaurant and my wife and i ate there for lunch for the first time.
First, pricing seems to be an issue with most of the younger haters....then go to Taco Bell to get your $1 taco filled with mystery meat and chemically formed cheese. Â The food here is all fresh, corn based (more expensive than flour), and made to order. Â If you don't have any enough money to eat here....don't leave a crappy review because of it. Â
Second noise seems to be an issue with some of the ultra sensitive younger generation....when did restaurants need to be sound proof? Â It's a restaurant not a hyperbolic chamber for your own personal eating pleasure. Â It's called people getting together enjoying themselves talking, eating, drinking, and laughing. Â If you don't want to hear sound, then order your food through a drive through at the aforementioned fast food place. Â Third, people question the taste/quality of the food. Â Not sure if this related to the price issue mentioned in #1, but both me and my wife had an incredible lunch. Â The salmon appetizer was unbelievable and almost a meal in itself. Â Wife had the grilled shrimp on corn cakes...I had the lentil soup and chicken quesadilla...all incredibly awesome, fresh tasting, strong bold favors (not for the mild taste budders), and enough food we had to wrap up some to take home. Â Our waiter was very good...although he left me alone for a while when I needed another diet coke. Â No biggie. Â Overall very impressed with this place and we will back...next time for dinner when I can sample of the Tequila selection.
Ah man, I want to like this place, I really do. Â ...Ok.. I do sort of like it, but broken down like this -
Social meet and greet on weeknights, 5 stars. Â Margaritas are solid! Â Atmosphere is really nice, it's like you are in an old garage with large garage doors, open concept, small bar, good social place. Â It's a piece of the Roswell strip, off strip (Roswell now has an off strip, just call us the next Vegas!) Â Typical Roswell clientelle mostly.
Food - Ok the food is not bad, but it's not mind blowing. Â You definately don't get your money's worth. Â I didn't feel the meats were cooked to order but they were fresh. Â If I'm going to pay a premium I better be getting everything cooked to order and everything should taste above average, and unique, and authentic, and I didn't really get much of any of that feel. Â Both my tacos fell apart while eating them due to being soggy, definate negative star, and the crab balls (sorry, "Fritangas de jaiba"), while probably the highlight of the meal (at $11.99 mind you), come with asian sweet and sour sauce. Â Ehhhh?
This is becoming a chain now, the original Pure in Alpharetta to me shined, as for this location, I'd skip the meal here but otherwise it's a good hit up spot on a Fri or Sat night.
I suppose the only thing I can say is nothing ventured nothing gained. Sadly, Pure Taqueria is not a very good restaurant. The problem is not the service staff nor is it the laughably unnecessary valet, they were both very friendly. The problem was the food. I had the fried calamari, shrimp tacos, and al pastor tacos. None really wowed me, and everything was really heavy. The calamari was plentiful, but very greasy and kind of tasteless. The aioli it came with did not do much for the flavor or to cut the oil. The shrimp tacos were similarly tasteless though not quite as greasy. Finally, the al pastor tacos seemingly had more grease in them than the fried calamari. I believe that the al pastor is possibly made of pork belly (same cut as bacon)? Which is a good cut for Korean BBQ, but not really for tacos. The gumminess of the fat and pool of oil kind of ruined the taco for me.
I think Pure trades more on its trendy and retro atmosphere, not so much on the quality of its food. I think I will stick with Mr. Taco just up the road.
Proving once again that which Stewie Griffin has proven once before -- clones are always less than the original. So it is with Pure Taqueria Roswell.
Lost 5th star - Psst -- com'ere -- it's LOUD!!!
If the owner / franchiser isn't reading these reviews, here's a tip...
TURN DOWN THE FRIGGIN' MUSIC!
Walked in for lunch on a Saturday and immediately regretted not having ear plugs. Â There's no excuse for a restaurant this small to play music this loud when it's half empty on a weekend during the lunch hour. Other reviewers are saying the same thing, even the ones who liked this place.
Lost 4th star - Valet parking, in the 'burbs?!
Pro tip -- if you hate valet parking but want to eat here, GO FOR LUNCH ON A SATURDAY. I will never understand why the two suburban Pure locations INSIST on valet parking. Â It's the suburbs. Find an unused parking lot and build the restaurant there.
I DO give Pure Roswell bonus points for at least having more than 6 parking spaces on the physical property -- something that cannot be said about the Alpharetta location. God knows where they drive my car if I eat there.
Lost 3rd star - Meh / pricey food, at least on this visit
I have, in general, enjoyed Pure Inman Park. The food at the Alpharetta Pure has been decent the 1-2 times I've been there. Â However, on my visit to Pure Roswell, lunch didn't thrill. Â And for nearly $40 with a respectable tip, lack of thrill is a liability.
First up - carne asada tacos, apparently served cold (I may have misread the menu). A trio will cost you nearly $13, and, on this particular visit, the meat was flat out chilly. While well cooked, I feel like I got whatever they'd prepped earlier, and it was less than appetizing. The rice was hot -- I know, because the taco nearest the rice was the hottest of the three. The charro -- pinto beans + chorizo + bacon -- was tasty, and I don't like beans.
Second up - a $10 torta cubana sandwich that looked like it had been slapped together in a flurry of activity in the kitchen. Everything about it was askew, from the bun to the pork, to the ham. I'm not sure if my wife liked it -- apparently the guacamole had a kick to it that didn't appeal to her.
Earned 1st and 2nd stars - Suburbia needs better clones of good restaurants like Pure
Let's face it, folks. We need local, upscale (yet reasonable) dining locations to offset the likes of Chili's, Applebee's, Chepe's (WTF), and Monterrey. Â It's gotta be done right. Â Learn to clone the intown originals better. Â You can't drive off customers with prissy valet service, loud music and lesser-than-the-original food, esp. at $40 for lunch (no alcohol).
I have always enjoyed Pure Inman Park, and I'll probably give Pure Roswell another chance. I really don't want them to go the way of Stewie Griffin's clone from  FAMILY GUY - a pile of liquified ew on the proverbial OTP dining scene floor.
Pure is becoming a popular local chain... but its a good one. Â I tend to stick with the tacos... It can be a bit noisy and bouncy, because of the concrete floors and metal interior... I recommend the Al Pastor... And if you go on a Thursday night... oh never mind. Â I was gonna say something snarky about cougars and Roswell. Â Oh, damn it... I did anyway.
Review Source:I had heard great things about this place and was really excited when one opened near me but I just wasn't that impressed especially with some other great mexican restaurants in the area. The food was ok but as I said there are some great taquerias and sit down mexican restaurants in Roswell so I can't imagine I wil be going back.
Review Source:I'm extremely disappointed that this much-hyped restaurant falls so short of the standards we've come to expect in Roswell. Â I tried Pure's new Roswell location last Thursday. Â Admittedly, this was Alive After Five night, so I expected the place to be crowded - it was. Â What I did not expect was the incredible noise level and low quality of food and drink. Â It was not just the noise of people enjoying good food and company - it was incredibly loud music, which forced people to shout to get heard! Â I had a quick steak taco and Prickly Pear Margarita - both very disappointing!
My wife and daughter went back last Saturday for lunch. Â Again, they were blown away by the loudness of the music. Â They asked the waitperson if the music could be turned down. Â "No!" was the immediate response! Â They left without ordering any food or drink, but before they suffered any permanent hearing loss.
Given that Pure Roswell is so close to where we live, we were looking forward to have a new "local" for casual dining. Â We won't be going back. Â I wouldn't be surprise to learn that OSHA or some other agency has fined them for exceeding noise statutes!
