I came here on Saturday night with a group of friends and really loved the neighborhood feel so wanted to leave a review...they have a lot of loyal customers that enjoy talking about how long they have been coming to Ralph's. That always says a lot about a restaurant/bar! Good stuff...go grab some drinks here.
Review Source:I used to be a long time customer  at Ralphs and experienced a few of the owners. But after the recent change to the new owner (Ross), I have seen the quality of the food decline and increase of drugs.  The bar staff is ok with the exception of Brandon who is great.  As far as Ross is concern, he does visit customer tables.  Be aware that if you go later in the evenings he may have started drinking and it is hit or miss which Ross you will get.  He will either hit on the women in the group, buy you a drink or ask you to leave because he does not want you around. Â
It is a smoke friendly location but over the years the ventilation system has gone down hill or disappeared all together so don't be surprise if you can smell your clothes as soon as you get in your car. Â
The regulars are relatively harmless and can be fun during TV sports events, the women will get hit on when their companion hits the restroom. Â Good luck.
Great hangout. Â Loved the chicken wings. Â Owner / manager Ross dropped by our table and treated us like we were old friends. Great waitress, good service.
We dont smoke, and the place is definitely a smoke friendly place, but it was tolerable and we didn't mind given the rest of the place great!
This is a great neighborhood bar! Not that I'm proud of it, but I know my way around bars, having spent the better part of my adulthood in all kinds of them, and Ralph's ranks up there with the best of them. The lighting is dim, but not dark. The place is clean, but not sterile (it has that "lived in' kind of feel). The drinks are strong and service quick and friendly. And the food is pretty damn good. I recommend the wings and philly cheesesteak. It's hard to explain, but Ralph's has that "real" bar kind of feel to it without being a scary dive. It's not corporate and plastic, real people work and drink there. It's the kind of place that is almost impossible to find in the corporate driven, Gap-loving, suburban nightmare that is metro-Atlanta.
Review Source:One word: oysters. Sit at the bar, order the oysters, eat said oysters and repeat. I can't explain why the oysters on the half-shell are so good at an otherwise lackluster establishment in Kennesaw; I just know that they are. Ralph's also has fairly tasty and slightly overpriced seafood pasta, but its deliciousness pales in comparison with the oysters.
The bartenders here are hit or miss. They're always friendly, but the service can be absent-minded at best.
Ralph's regulars are a bit in-your-face. They're almost friendly to the point that you fear they may just try to get you to join a cult. Of course, if that cult involved the raw oysters at Ralph's, I might just be down for a bit of brainwashing.
This is one of those places where the food and the staff are kinda bland but you keep going back anyway.
After all it is a bar and bars are really meant for consuming large amounts of booze and then stepping slobbering drunk into a parking lot so your DD can take you home.
The best thing about Ralph's is the fact for a dark bar it's food ain't that bad. Â It could be worse everything could be deep fried and covered in salt. LOL
The restaurant was very cold inside. Â I had taken my coat off but ended up putting it back on since it was so chilly. Â There were people at the bar but only one other table getting food. Â The waitress was neither friendly or unfriendly. Â Just very matter of fact. Â It was late lunch/early dinner time.
We were surprised to see an old fashioned working cigarette machine in the restaurant. Â We didn't think those existed anymore!
I ordered the fajitas in both shrimp and chicken. Â They came sizzling and were VERY good! Â I highly recommend them. Â My boyfriend ordered shrimp and pasta in a marinara sauce. Â There was nothing on the menu saying this was a spicy dish. Â However, he was turning red when eating it as he said it was VERY VERY spicy. Â I don't know if that was a fluke or it is always that way. A week later he still goes on about how extremely spicy it was! Â He ate all the shrimp out of it but left behind a lot of the pasta. Â He said it was really good for someone who loves super spicy food but it had adverse effects on him! Â I would think if food is prepared spicy like that, it should say in the restaurant description or at least the wait person should caution that it is a spicy dish.
The prices were kind of high considering the ambiance is nothing elaborate. Â The utentils we ate with look like they came from a super bargain restaurant supply. Â The service was slow and the waitress only got friendly and smiley when it was time to deliver the bill.
These are the reasons for the 3 stars. Â The food was delicious for me but the price was high for the atmosphere, the room temp was cold and the flatware was flimsy and had dishwasher spots.
We would go back again since it is close by, with a coupon perhaps, and my boyfriend would certainly stay away from potential spicy dishes.
Ralph's is a nothing fancy, come as you are, unpretentious place to hang out. Â It's the closest thing to "Cheers" we have found. Â When we visit we almost always see certain regulars along with occasional visitors. Â I have visited with one friend, I have gone with a group. Â We have enjoyed ourselves every time. Â The food is great, the FRIED GREEN BEANS are AWESOME. Â Always, always had good service. Â This place has been around a long time and hope it is around for many additional years.
