I was a Parkside student so I've been here a few times. The first time I went here was after the packers won the nfc title game vs the bears. The parking lot is pretty terrible in the winter, you can't see where the entrance is and it's not paved or anything, but I digress. I walked in there and it's a pretty small bar, but it seems friendly. Tv's within reasonable sight distance and nothing is crowded.

Throughout the night they kept telling me to get Parkside students to come there which I found really odd. That bar is literally right next to the campus and yet, no students go there? Why? Do they not care about advertising? Do students not like to go there cuz of the feeling that it may be a towny bar? Or has somers really gained that much of a reputation? Who knows.

But the place is nice, 5 dollar long islands that are strong, 5 dollar pitchers, bunch of really nice regulars that go there, within walking distance from parkside on the creepy and lonely cross country paths. Located right next to the 24 hour Bp/Open Pantry, which is perfect after a night of drinking. It's not fantastic, basically a place to go and talk sports with the regulars and a few non-regulars, get trashed and leave. I definitely would recommend it for a chill night. Although one night I went in there was some kind of mexican party with reggae music and a bunch of mexicans dancing around, that was kind of odd.

Another interesting little bar with almost all regulars. A good time with the locals.

Went here when I came down to visit one of my friends who attends UW-Parkside. The bar is just outside the campus and within relative walking distance. My friend suggested that we should just go to Remo's so we would not have to drive. I didn't know what to expect really. The bar patrons are kind of an eclectic group. As soon as I sat down, I had an older woman come over and ask if I was interested in some bed sheets/comforter. I'm not into used bed sheets, especially from a dive bar. The bar itself is relatively small, with a few tvs, darts, video slot machines, and a few video games.

The drinks here are pretty cheap. If the bartender named "Shooter" is working, ask him for one of his long island ice teas for just $5. They'll knock you on your ass if you're not careful. Speaking of being knocked on your ass, while I was there the owner was having a few drinks at the bar as well. The dude got so drunk that we fell backward off his stool. He could barely even talk. Someone had to drag him out and take him home. If you think the weirdness ends there, you'd be wrong. It so happens that this bar has one of those punching bag games. The bartender " Shooter" got challenged by one of the patrons to get a higher score. Well Shooter ended up breaking his hand on the game. He then began bar tending with his weaker hand for the rest of the night. He's dedicated.

Overall, it's a basic bar with some interesting patrons. If you want a good story to tell at the end of the night, this "off the beaten path" type place may be right up your alley.
