Every time I think Key West I have deja-vu about this place! If I had a yelp account back then, I would definitely be the DUKE!  Fun and awesome place to dance, yet you can chill and have a conversation. You may  ask how is this even possible? Well, they have a second floor with a balcony far away from the DJ that you can have an actual conversation with someone (no screaming over anyone needed), also have many bar tables where you can hang out with your friends and a dance floor!
Review Source:Based on service it's a 5 star establishment.
After going to some stupid monkey place up the road we stopped here to get a much needed cocktail. Â An older gentlemen was tending bar, he was friendly, chattie, and efficient! Â Perfect!
Has a couple seats outside and has live music.
If been going here since Spring Break in the late 90's and it's still around, tells you something.
Something for everyone!
I travelled to Key West with a large group of people and it was difficult deciding where on Duval street to go - until we found Rick's! We went to Rick's every night during our stay and loved it! The bartenders made any drink we wanted - and even experimented with delicious concoctions, that were also strong, but still cheap! Each night I was able to see the NHL Playoff highlights on a few TV's (this was a huge deal to the Canadian in me) and the DJ played great music. The crowd at Rick's Bar ranged from 21-30 years of age and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I definitely want to go back to Key West and to Rick's Bar!
This place really has something for everyone, but not in a cheezy way. Â We were there Saturday night, and the live band downstairs was great. Â I think there were about 9 of them just switching up playing like jam style. Â Very cool, and they were good. Â I talked to a couple of them at the pizza place after and they were really friendly and seemed to really enjoy what they were doing.
I went upstairs to the dance club tore it up a little bit. Â Other than upsetting some Indian kid who was bent because his girly was digging my sweet flow, it was good fun without having air chested douchbags getting in your personal space. Â Music was a good mix.
I can't say I've stayed in Key West without walking into Rick's at least once. Â They have a great setup including dance music upstairs, heavy metal downstairs in the back, and a cool pizza joint and convenience store downstairs near the front.
Rick's also wins the title for worst men's restroom in Key West! Â The urinal is a rusted out bathtub that men crowd around, and utilize, with no dividing partitions. Â It adds to the charm of this place, along with the $2 breathalyzer machine just outside the bathroom door!
Finally, I commend Rick's for having probably one of the last remaining Pinball machines in Key West!
Best bar in Key West.
Okay, perhaps I'm a bit partial because a good friend of mine, Miguel, works here. But I always go to Rick's when I head down to Key West. They have a bar style for everyone. From laid-back to upscale martini lounge to strip club - everyone in your group can find a bar they fit in at.
Downstairs has pizza, live bands, strippers and laid-back bars. Upstairs has a martini lounge (with AC) and a dance floor.
I will say, I've had the best chocolate martini I've ever had (and I have these a lot) in the strip club.
If you like fruity pebbles, find Miguel and he'll hook you up with a drink you'll never forget. You'd swear you were having a big bowl of fruity pebbles. Yum!
Definitely make a stop at Rick's if you're bar-hopping in Key West.
Cool dive bar, friendly staff. I came here as part of a pub crawl tour. Spoke to the bartender for a few minutes who mentioned the best times to come were in the evenings where they have live shows. I wish I had the opportunity since this seemed like a cool spot with a pleathora of drink options.
Review Source:Some, if not MOST ,of my best Key West memories stem from this place.
It has been there FOREVER!
I have visited during different stages in my life, with different people and we always have an amazing time. There are varied areas playing both live music and DJ.
Drinks are well priced and there are several different places to sit- the funnest one being the stools that face Duval. The later it gets, the more interesting it gets. The same goes for the steep steps you have to climb to get to the club. People watching those nearing 4am is priceless as people "attempt" to leave the club.
A MUST stop when in Key West if you want to DANCE the night away
(like I always do)!
We went to Ricks on our last night of our trip. Â We had walked by it on the second night but it was kind of late and we decided to put it off. Â Our friend had been their previously and was highly recommending it. Â It's huge with lots of bars to choose from and different music. Â The first bar we went to had a small stage to the right and the "musical" was not too good. Â So we left and went to the bar with The Durtbags performing. Â They were really good especially a cover of Born to Run. Â Beers weren't too pricy ($4 I think). Â We walked over to the martini bar and the dance club and then decided to head elsewhere. Â Definitely a good time with a group. Â Check it out, just try and avoid some of the douchie guys in there.

Rick's is definitely one of the best places on Duval Street to go for good drinks at good prices!! There's something for everyone at this bar. Rock music with an awesome live band, The Durt Bags, downstairs with Jagermeister paraphernalia everywhere. Hip hop and pop music played upstairs on a fairly decent sized dance floor. There's a daiquiri bar with delicious frozen drinks. Even a wine and margarita bar! You also get access to the strip club, if you're into that kind of thing...
My friends and I visited Rick's every night for our Spring Break vacation. There's a nice balcony overlooking the rest of Duval Street. Also since all of it is outside, it doesn't feel as crowded or stuffy as many inside bars. Definitely plenty of good stories and good times.
Rick's Bar lives up to it's advertising...they do have the best prices on Duval! Our bartender, Rick (no not the owner...we asked) was a wealth of information! Very friendly and delicious drinks! The music at the time that we went was hysterical! The guy would encourage audience participation...a lot of dirty language and insults, but all in humor...not for the faint of heart! LOL Â All in all, great prices, great drinks and great laughter!
Review Source:Always a great time at Rick's! Â And if you talk it up a little, you never know who you'll meet - people come from all over the world to vacation and party at Key West.
Rick's is a great place to watch the scenery go by on Duval Street. Â It gets a bit crowded during Fantasy Fest, but still worth it.
You gotta check it out when you're in Key West!!
Rick's has something for everyone--Upstairs has a dance floor, a Martini room (with air conditioning!), frozen drinks (like Fat Tuesday) and a view of Durty Harry's. Â Downstairs, it connects to Red Garter, has great live music at Durty's and an awesome karaoke place accessible from Duval St. Â Bartender JoAnn, usually upstairs, is the best!
Review Source:For a night club, it's pretty fun with the live dj and dancing. The biggest downfall is that it's on the second floor and very open so there's basically NO air flow. It also got really crowded so I would make it part of your bar hoppin' down Duval Street, just not the place to stay all night.
Beth's Tip: Bathroom's are gross, don't break the seal if you can help it.
Cheap Drinks and Karaoke after midnight?!?! WASSSSSUP RICKS!!
I had a blast here...we came two nights here for drinks and karaoke for 1-2 hours. Key West bars dont close until 4am...so saying you are pre-drinking at midnight is actually a real thing here...lol.
Yelena who was our server both nights was also bringing around Jello shots with whipped cream....that was an experience....as you dont get to use your hands.....she feeds it to you...but just happens to miss your mouth more then a few times....she carries a hot tower with her like a barber to wipe off any whipped cream accidents......definately kodak moments!
Only thing I wish is that they would improve their Karaoke quality, they have no speakers pointing at the singer, so it is very hard to hear if you are loud or quiet and also you cant really hear the music so hard to follow with the beat. The screen you read the words off has seen better days.
These people know how to please. Â My girlfriends and I were accosted by a man outside stating that we could get cocktails for three dollars. Â !!!! Â We didn't necessarily believe him, but we had a goal of going to ten bars over the course of the night (we only got to 7) so we took a chance. Â We ended up on the rooftop bar and had some $3 well-cocktails which were strong! Â Not too shabby. Â I forget the bartender's name, but he took us with a grain of salt and was attentive.
Review Source:Love / hate relationship
One year they kicked me out 4 times, but now we get along again:) Â I guess I had too much fun that time. Â This must be the biggest bar/club in KW. Â There are plenty of bars, a dance floor & even have live bands in one area, so there is something for any mood you are in. Â My friends love the street bar stool area for some reason. Â Also I almost forgot you walk through a door & you are at the Red Garder!
$10 all you can drink from 8-11 and $1 shots makes Jackie a very drunk girl. I don't know if they run this special often or if it was a spring break weekend deal but I don't care I'm glad I found it. I'm also thankful to the hottie, southern gentleman that informed me of said deal.
The crowd is young and pretty. The bouncers are young and really muscled. The outdoor space is nice. It's really three large bars connected as one. Each has a different look and feel and one had live music going.
Don't stand on the stools near the railing looking over Duval Street. You'll get kicked out. No I didn't get kicked out here but I saw a couple of guys that did for not listening. You should always listen to the bouncer.
Went to Key West last summer and had a great time at Rick's. It's supposedly known as a Navy hang out spot...
You can't go wrong here. It's huge with an outdoor patio, several bars w/ inexpensive drinks, a dance floor, and live music downstairs.
Duval Street is a happening area and there are many places to go. One of them should def'ly be Rick's if you're looking for a bar to have a great time.
Good music, good drinks.
Went here a few times while we were in Key West, had a really good time every time. The drinks were always good and the DJ was playing all the newest music. The live band downstairs was awesome too, really no matter which part of the bar you are in you'll have fun.
And if you can, try to get Gino as your bartender. Very charming and really takes care of you if you run your tab at the bar he is working.
this place has potential. Â maybe i went on an off night (even though it was a saturday night). Â or maybe i was too drunk/borderline hungover to enjoy this place. Â or maybe i was too preoccupied with my blackberry. Â
but either way, we hung out upstairs, which was all hip hop music. Â there were a lot of skinny white boy thug wannabees and hoochie girls ... i dont know, i wasn't feeling it... it was just a bit too cheesy for me..but ill try it again next time im in KW.
This place has it all and right on Duval across from Sloppy Joe's.
1st floor - Say hi to Kelly - Bartender for me.
2nd floor - Dance club/bar/terrace overlooking Duval/tiki bar. Â Great DJ and the size was very large, we went on a Tuesday night, can not imagine how it is on a Saturday night. Â It must craaAAaazy. Â I love it.
Rick's is the place to be in Key West. It has several different establishments you can go to all in one place for one really low cover (I think it was $10).
First off they have a dance club, a tiki bar on a patio to chill, a bar with a live band, a karaoke bar and a sealed off strip club. I did some dancing at the dance club and went downstairs to check out a live band. The band was great, and the drinks were priced well. I wish I could give this place its justice with words, but if you're an avid club goer like me, and you see a place like this with all of these possibilities, you're in clubbing heaven.
