Met a friend for drinks and snacks and ended up staying for dinner. The portions were hearty, service was excellent and the food was really good. We started with Cheesy Fries, then split a Prime Rib Dip and a Chicken Bleu Cheese salad. Too stuffed for dessert, but the Deep Fried Twinkies looked intriguing. Heard of them in the South, but I believe this is the only place in Bend to serve them.
Review Source:Rivals does a decent job at what it tries to be: a sports bar. It's clean and fairly recently remodeled, not a dive by by stretch.
The decor is straight sports...football, baseball, nascar, etc. right down to the referee-shirted waitresses.
The back of the place offered oregon lottery and poker tables, the front of the business is just standard bar, regular tables, and hightop tables.
The beer list isnt bad; a good showing from local breweries in addition to the prominent fizzy yellow swill.
Prices are middle of the road and the food menu is boring pub grub like burgers, tacos, wings, salads, etc.
The service we got was less than attentive, and I stared bleakly at my empty beer for longer than I should have needed to.
Rivals is a forgettable sports bar, and unless your a big poker fiend, there's not much here to offer at this outoftheway location that you can't get elsewhere.
