Great pub & tavern, just ok for food.
The serving staff is attractive and attentive. Â The ambience is great. Â Trying to find a seat at the packed bar can be difficult. Â This is indeed a popular place.
In multiple visits, however, I have found the food to be just average. Â Most recently my order of wings were not-so-good. Â They were meaty and appropriately seasoned, but ran bloody. Â The server was disappointed in the kitchen as she observed the red bones that remained, but that acknowledgement was all I got post-wings. Â Full priced bloody wings. Â Yikes.
This English Tavern in Marietta, GA. Â is a very fun spot, I will say when we had arrived on a Wed. night between the hours of 5-8 there was a happy hour crowd that had a very good energy, it was not quiet, but not too loud. Â We sat at the bar quickly got served and we ordered a traditional meat pie, which was served with pickled onions and that spicy English mustard, very nice. Â It reminded m of my first trip to the UK, we visited some friends who lived in Putney, London, WOW ! We also ordered the Shepards Pie, and I have to be honest very tasty, it was not a Cottage Pie. Â I really did enjoy it, the seasoning was to my palate, not to greasy because lamb can do that. Along with our meal, the pints were fantastic, served well in a chill glass, I did notice the 34oz mugs, we will have to try that next time. Â One very noticeable detail, the restaurant was clean and even the mens room, with all this activity I was impressed. Â Cheers Mate, we will be back for a Snakebite and some Fish n Chips !
