Rudy's has the two best sandwiches in Apex. The sensational Cuban and the spectacular Shrimp Po'boy. Both feature Chef Phil's delicious Jalapenos which he actually pickles himself in-house. The pickled jalapenos have a subtle mellow sort of heat that complements both sandwiches incredibly. The Po'boy has bigger,  nicer jumbo fried shrimp than you'll find on the best  shrimp platter any where in the area. It's a real shame that most people only think of wings when they think of Rudy's because they're new menu has some really great items that deserve attention.

Great little neighborhood pub.  I have eaten here maybe 6 times and never had any food quality issues.  I think they sometimes get overwhelmed and service can be an issue.
Bottom line is I like this little place and will continue to visit.

Not so great. Went in for Guinness on tap. Informed by waitress that they had "just changed it out". Stayed anyway.  Ordered pulled pork sandwich and Apex chips.  Okay sandwich, not so great.  Chips pretty good. Sandwich actually made me feel kinda sick. Service was friendly.  Nothing great.  Probably won't be back.

Went there yesterday for lunch. Historically we have enjoyed the food there and rated it higher but today we never got to taste the food.

We walked in and the place was jammed. A couple in front of us we just being seated and we were next. Standing there for more than five minutes we were ignored by all the servers and the owner multiple times. It was like we were invisible.

Then a couple came in, walked around us and was told by the owner where to sit.

With that we walked out. It will be a long time before we ever return.

Two weeks ago on Tuesday 25 cent wing night, myself and some friends with our children went out for a bite.  We all know to get there early so we were there no later than 5:15 without anyone waiting for a table.  We were told 15-20 mins, which I thought was fine because we did have 8 in our party.  So 30+ mins later and at least 4 groups getting sat before us, we'd had enough.  We mentioned to the hostess and she said you shouldn't have been told only 20 mins, more like an hour.  Ok not my problem, we were told that and no one was waiting in front of us. If they had told me an hour I wouldn't have stayed.  They are a small-er restaurant without much group sitting, but we got there early. After we were sat, which I had to point out we could put two tables together that were beside each other to accommodate our group, we were served rather quickly.  The only thing that took a bit and almost made me walk out, was getting the check to pay.  So I will give it a second try because I always do, but maybe not on Tuesday nights. It was 7pm by the time we left. :(

When looking around last Sunday, getting out of the house from cabin fever, I came up on Rudy's when driving down Hwy 55 towards Apex. They are located near the Harris Teeter in Haddon Hall Commons. I decided to give them a try since I was starving.

Walking in, it's your average bar setup, with 5-6 TVs and a large golf video game and pool table setup. A reasonable size bar to sit at and lots of small round tables with a few booths to sit at. It's nothing on the tier or scale of nearby Tyler's Taproom or anything in that type of place but it's what you can expect from a bar in a shopping center. Being that it was a Sunday afternoon with no major sports going on but NASCAR and golf, it wasn't packed either.

They had the usual domestic draft type of specials going on and I had one of those, but they have a full bar and other beer selections as well as a few wine offerings as well. After looking at the menu, I decide to go with the Reuben Spring Roll choice to start with. Neat idea, a twist on two faves. The result was not bad, ok taste but turned out a bit greasy in appearance and feel. I'd give them a go again with a beer. For the main eats I went with the Rudy's Dip, their version of the French Dip (see photo). Again not bad, good amount of meat and cheese, ok taste.

My server on this trip was good, always checking on my beer and making sure I didn't need anything else. My service at this time was great, no complaints in the time of all my food coming, my beverage glass always taken care of (not empty), and timeliness of requests made.

I'd give the atmosphere 2, food 3, and service 4 stars on this trip. Looks like in the average they come out with a 3 star rating this time. I'll buy that, it was an A-OK visit.

Mediocre food with less than mediocre service.  If you're looking for a less than average burger with servers that make you feel like you're doing them a favor by being there, then Rudy's is your place.  We've been here twice and the food and service were subpar both times.  The only saving grace the 2nd time was that the Sam Adams girls were there with free stuff/giveaways & sweet dispositions.  And Rudy's could learn a thing or two by going to Salem St Pub for dinner and drinks just once. I'm surprised they've lasted this long in such a tough market.

I went back to Rudy's last night even though I said that I wouldn't.  My experience last night was a bit better, but there are still places that I would rather go.  My first impression was that for a Saturday night the place was empty.  I guess that I shouldn't judge a place based on the amount of customers.  It was only 8pm so I guess all of the Apex bar hoppers were not out yet.  There was also a hockey game and and event at the Long Branch last night so maybe people were other places.  So we got a table and were discussing what we would order.  I knew from past experience that cheese fries were out of the question.  My husband and I decided to try the wings and the foot long mozzarella sticks.  The problem was choosing a wing flavor.  We couldn't pick between the honey hot and hot lips.  The waitress brought both flavors for us to try and we ended up with 15 honey hot (which is Teriyaki and buffalo sauce mixed together).  The foot long mozzarella sticks were so good, but the marinara sauce that they came with seemed a bit lumpy and flavorless.  The wings were good, but did not really taste like the sauce that we sampled.  Overall the experience was better than before, but I am not going to add Rudy's to my favorite places.

Beware of Tuesdays here...you may get 25 cent wings (multiples of 10), but there's a long wait to get a table (so many folks waiting that we stood outside).  Staff was overwhelmed...I never did get everything that I ordered.  My buffalo chicken sandwich was overcooked and fatty.  The wings are supposedly good, though.

I like my steaks Raw, eat my hamburgers cold on the inside, raw seafood from dive bars on the shore. However i have never been physically sick or in pain after eating someplace until now.

Pros: The corona in a bottle tasted good and was nicely chilled

    Cons:
    -Lethargic wait staff
-completely understaffed for a night with a popular special
-Wings with no flavor what soever except for the taste of frying oil, I did not even taste the chicken
-Several other individuals at the table later had intense stomach pain
-I vomited so violently one of my contacts fell out.
    -Horrible bathrooms

    Verdict
    -COMPUTER SAYS NO!!!!!!!!

Decided to try Rudys with the family and friends for a Sunday breakfast. My wife and I had an English muffin sandwich with pit smoked ham, 2 eggs, and cheddar cheese on a huge English muffin. It was really good. The kids had pancakes that were very good too. Our friends got the Classic breakfast with eggs, bacon, home fries and bread. She couldn't even finish the whole breakfast it was so good. The place is totally kid friendly with TVs all around to keep them occupied while the adults talked. We will definitely come back!!!!

We found out after we got there that kids eat free all day on sunday!!

Sunday afternoon wings and a beer? I'm in. Looking for a new venue to try we decided on Rudy's Pub & Grill.

I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Prior to coming I checked out the website and got a feel for the menu, there are some wings here that you have to sign a waiver to order/eat. Might have been the first day on the job for two of the three wait staff as this was news to them. Beer on tap was limited to one local brew (Big Boss - Bad Penny), if you are going to have only one then Bad Penny is a good one to have.

Trying to get an idea about the spiciness of the wings, I asked the waitress. She informed me that she didn't really like the wings. I settled on the Spicy Buffalo and Honey Hot.

As a place to grab a beer and some bar food it was ok, the claim to gastro-pub left me expecting a little bit more.

I would call this a pub NOT a Gastropub. Just because your appetizers are left of center doesn't mean you are a gastropub. But try the houseade chips with blue cheese they are excellent. Selection of beer on tap is small though, and service was slow. But the food was tasty.

Hottest wings in town...and they're pretty tasty as well. The mozzerlla sticks are enormous and very good (made from scratch too). Good place for food, but beers on tap aren't the best.

This place is consistently good!  It is a hidden treasure in Apex at the Haddon Hall Common's in Harris Teeter shoppin center.  The wait staff is attentive.  On Friday's they have Couple's Night.  We have been here frequently for this.  The first time we ate there it was ahi tuna, with zucchini, shrimp and corn risotto all for $19.99 per couple!  Yes dinner for 2 under $20.  Each Friday was a different entree'.  They have been consistent with the quality of food and service.  Save room for dessert and share their chocolate cake or warm brownie.  Yummy!  The prices for couple dining might be different but the food was very good and you won't be disappointed to stop by and try this hidden gem!

A hidden Apex treasure...  Conveniently located on W. Williams St. (NC 55)  Rudy's Pub & Grille has great specials nightly and a fun, laid back atmosphere.
