Short summary: So-so Pad Thai and Papaya salad. Pad Thai was too sweet, missing fresh bean sprouts, and hardly any green onion. Papaya salad with too much fish sauce over taking other flavors.
But... Yellow curry was really awesome and reminded me of what I had when I visited Thailand years back. Potato was cooked to perfection and overall tasted great! Â I'd need to come back and try stir fry dishes of this place.
Not bad for Thai in very remote area.
Customer service was friendly too.
I was visiting my sister and since this is the only Thai restaurant in the area we came here for dinner. We ordered the pad Thai, wonton soup, chicken wings, tilapia in curry sauce and the papaya salad. I must say the papaya salad was very on point, spicy and good! The tilapia in curry sauce was too sweet. Eh. I liked the chicken wings, it was big, crispy and fried to perfection...also very good with their sweet chili sauce. the wonton soup was alright not the best I have had. Overall this restaurant will satisfied my thai cravings in the small town of cornelia but I the service was seriously lacking. They weren't that busy but I had to ask for everything (straws, utensils, sauce, refills). Oh and also their thai tea is very good. MUST TRY! It might could have gotten five stars if the service was better. :)
Review Source:This is really a great place. Atmosphere is calming and peaceful. Restaurant is clean. prices are reasonable.
I love their Pad Thai, basil rolls, curries and soups. I've tried various dishes and have not been disappointed. This is my go to Thai place because it is so close to where I live. Who would have thought Thai in rural Georgia!
Four of us ate here during our Bike Ride Across Georgia event. This nondescript, out of the way downtown location on a side street is a hidden gem. We can attest that the curry dishes and lemon-grass soups are excellent. They do a good job of serving a dish at various degrees of spiciness if so desired. We encountered a friendly wait staff in a very informal setting, i.e. just wear your shorts or jeans. The prices were incredible fair, well below comparable prices in a large city. We were waited on promptly but the food was a bit slow in arriving, probably since we showed up exactly at 5pm when the restaurant opened for dinner. It was worth the wait. They have separate lunch hours also. Â I don't get into Cornelia often but the next time I'm nearby I plan to stop again... and again.
Review Source:I've been back several times since my last update, and this place is simply now my go-to Thai fix. Â It's nice enough that you can make a nice date of it, without being so fancy you can't just show up in jeans. Â
The basil rolls are now a requirement, whether in restaurant, or to go. Â Other than for my kids, I have no idea why I would bother with Chinese takeout when this is soooo much better.
