We were greeted when we went in even though we went in the bar door.LOL Â We were there for the half price pizza that was really good thin crust pizza. Another surprise was the conch fritters they were great with the Thai sauce. The waitress was wonderful and did not have a single issue. The room was a bit noisy because of the kids but we had kids too and we were all together just because of all the hard surfaces everything echoed. But the kids loved the fish tank especially my 3year old. Everything was great will definitely go back.
Review Source:The rating is a bit tricky on this one!! Â The food was a 5, and the service was a 4 because our server was a bit befuddled. Â The beer was cold, the salads were crisp, and the margherita pizza was wonderful!! Â We had been told that this place served the best pizza on the island, and we were not disappointed. Â Give it a try!
Review Source:Sunday afternoon and it was not busy. Greeted at the door by a guy who must have been a manager or owner. He quickly pointed us to the bar area as there were screaming kids in the dining room. Good call!
We sat at a high-top bar table with it's own TV. The bartender came over in a minute and gave us menus and took our drink order. Wife ordered a White Russian, she had to send next store for milk which caused a delay.
My diet coke was flat and when I told her that she did not offer to make me another one. Bet her gas tank was empty, but she was clueless. I ordered a app and told her to come back for the rest of the order. She had about 8 bar customers total and looked to be spread to thin for her skill level. The bacon wrapped shrimp with garlic honey dipping sauce app was good, but no hint of garlic in the sauce.
I had the lobster salad wrap special that came with fresh chips was good, but the chips were great!
Wife had crunchy grouper sand special w/chips and loved it all.
When clueless came back to check on us she asked if I wanted more diet coke. I said yes, but dump this one and get me a fresh one. She should have done that when I first complained to her. She was very apologetic about the flat soda.
I watched clueless open a bottle of wine for which she had a captains knife, but no idea how to use it. Nothing worse than a cute, but clueless bartender. They are usually the ones wondering why I am not throwing money at them. It's called the hospitality business, get a clue.
Looks like the place must do some biz by the size of it.
This place is a'ight. Â The food is nothing special, and the atmosphere isn't anything to write home about either. Â But the service is great. Â Sit at the bar, and your glass will never be empty. Â The bartenders are typically very friendly and good. Â So it is a nice place to have some drinks.
What we do enjoy about this place is the abundance of flat-screen TVs everywhere, so that when there's a game on we're interested we head down to Sand Bar to watch. Â There's TVs at the INDIVIDUAL TABLES, people, very cool. Â You don't have to worry that your game won't be on, or you'll be outvoted at the bar. Â That is, if you can manage to snag a table with its own TV.
They also have these giant glass beer towers (I think they hold 3-4 pitchers) that the bartenders fill up at the bar and then bring to your table. Â They slip a freezer pack into the tower to keep the beer cold. Â It has its own tap so you serve yourself right at your table. Â We've never ordered one -- that's a lot of beer! -- because somehow it seemed too fratty. Â In fact, the only people I've seen ordering them are groups of non-shaven boys with baseball caps and college tees. Â No, thanks.
Went there for an early dinner. Menu was the usual fare: greasy appetizers, soups, pizza, sandwiches and burgers, seafood, Italian-style entrees.
My mother and I had the gyro sandwich, which was OK. Gyro meat from the freezer (not a surprise - this is the case pretty much everywhere). Sauce was incredibly cheesy though. Fries were double fried, which made them deliciously crispy.
My children split a chicken carbonara, which apparently wasn't great.
Cost came to about $57, which seemed a little expensive compared to other meals we've had around here.
I'd go back to Castaway's over this place (which is right next door).
