Like other have mentioned here, the place nice and the music is ok. Â However, the staff is as RUDE as it gets. Â From the guy at the entrance trying to push the bottle service to the cashier that set the price at her convinience to rude bartenders (and they work for tips???) to the staff on the floor. Â Don't waste your time on this place.
Review Source:I REALLY, REALLY wanted to like this place like other reviewers here did.
As a matter of fact, the YELP reviews below is what motivated me to take a business client that flew in from Las Vegas to the casino and so-called Santo "lounge" I am now so disappointed about.
So, first things first. I am extremely pleased at how beautifully renovated they have made this Gulfstream park, and its shops, restaurants - it is a beautiful place, but my review is strictly on my experience at Santo-Lounge on Saturday 2.19.11
No. 1. THIS IS NOT A LOUNGE!!! This is a full-blown nightclub, with music that is extremely LOUD and you will not be able to carry a conversation without screaming in someones ear. There is a very tiny area just outside that has a more loungy feel, but it reminded me of a junior high prom, 20 guys in a huddle circle talking to themselves, while maybe 3 average looking girls bask in the semi-attention they get. YAWWWN!
No 2. My friend and I were wearing Giorgio Armani suits, looking incredibly soave and confident, ready for a night of gambling at a casino, and smoking some hookahs. The doorman (who was easily 80lbs overweight, and dressed very sloppy) looks at us, and tell us that we can only come in we are buying bottle service. UGHHH..why? This is a "LOUNGE"...right? You don't pester clients at the door with stupid "bottle service" before you give them a chance to sit down and decide what they want - whatever. We came here for Hookah Pipes, not to try to do what YOU want us to do Santo-lounge!
I look around, and I notice something that truly has me questioning the integrity of this Fat doorman: Every guy in the place is wearing T-SHIRTS, Jeans, and even........wait for it....SNEAKERS!! WTF?
This is a classy lounge...right? My point is, if you are an experienced doorman, when you see 2 guys in trendy suits roll-up to your door, do not treat them like the douche-bags dressed like they are going to a football game in (already played out) Ed-Hardy shirts like the rest of the losers you let in so far.
No. 3 I also saw that NOBODY had bottle service, everyone had a single bottle of beer in their hand, there were not that many people here, this was suppose to be their BEST NIGHT!
So, my impression: Santo Lounge would have been one of my favorite places in Gulf stream park to chill before heading out to Miami, but unfortunately, they fall very short of class, and knowing how to choose clientele. They should really get a doorman (who is not morbidly obese, and has some GAME) that knows how to balance-out the ratio of male:female. It was a "sausage" fest up in here. I don't blame beautiful, and confident women for not wanting to come here, I no longer plan to either.
It's no wonder this place was pretty much empty ON A SATURDAY NIGHT at 1AM!
