Had lunch here recently while in Miami Beach for vacation and it was a very good experience.
When the bring the bread, they also bring some freshly marinated tomatoes so you can make your own little bruschettas while you wait for your food. Â We got the mozzarella caprese as our appetizer which was nice and fresh. Â For our meals, my wife had a risotto and I have the gnocchi. Â I could tell the gnocchi was store bought, but it was still pretty good as the sauce was fresh and tasty. Â Desserts were also above average. Â I has the ricotta cheesecake and my wife had some apple tart that she thought was amazing.
The service was also very good. Â The owner was very nice and came over to talk to us for a little bit.
Ate here last saturday with my husband because another restaurant where we wanted to dine was closed.
It was one of the worst dining experiences in Miami. We should have known better.
It started with the bread which was the worst bread I've ever had in an italian restaurant.
Some thinly pre sliced multigrain bread probably from your grocery store across the street and a white bread (really the cheap one ) which was probably put out on some other table before, because it was stale and dry.
We were given a bruschetta which we didn't even touch. It looked stale and unpleasant.
We ordered a beef carpaccio to share and what we got was with old, wilt arugula leafs (I really should have taken a picture of this one). Like I said already too many bad signs of a not so good restaurant.
The owner tries to keep nice by opening the door and shake hands when saying good night. I don't think that makes a good restaurant and covers for the bad food.
I had the veal marsala and my husband a sirloin steak with a red tomato sauce with capers.
My veal was super thin and soo sweet with no taste, I could't eat it. The sirloin steak
covered by this red pasta sauce with capers so you couldn't see the steak. My husband really had only two bites.
But here it comes: the mashed potatos are instant (I never saw this before) potatos!!!
The broccoli no taste also - frozen vegetables....
So sad for this restaurant.
We had a bottle of wine which we finished and were sadly still hungry and paid a $100.00 bill.
I could have done this better at home with fresh ingredients.
Or have been at a chain restaurant with much much fresher ingredients, better taste.
For all the people who gave more than 2 stars - I have nothing to say more.
