This place used to be great.  They closed down for a while. When they reopened, well, it just wasn't the same anymore.  Goodbye, See Thru!

Ordered delivery today through grub hub, nearly chipped my tooth on the small pebble that was in my lo mein. They refused to refund me! Good job see thru, you have lost a customer who has been loyal for over a year.

Giant portions, cheap prices. The Mongolian Beef is my favorite entree. I thought the egg in the egg drop soup seemed a little overcooked and lumpy, but otherwise it still tasted fine.

Inexpensive and they don't give you mystery meat chicken. Most if not all of it is chicken breast.. white meat.

For a fast quick lunch bite you may want to check this place out. I mean its no fancy gourmet place for sure, but they do slap on the portions. I have the shrimp in lobster sauce and was pretty amazed at how it tasted.

On the downside, the parking is a bit cramped, and that's if you can find parking in the lot. Since they do share parking with so many other establishments, lunch time is not the best time to go, but if you come after one than maybe. Very modest place, with a photo of the owner and President Obama, yes, its very modest.

Although they are friendly, it seems that they want to push you out like cattle, which is okay with me, but what will bring you back is the food and the portion sizes. Pretty fresh for what it is and definitely not a fancy spot, but well worth the trip if your in need of Chinese and are near.

Good from a value / expediency standpoint. I work 5 mins from here & don't go very often because the food sucks, but if you want a change and are looking for something somewhat healthy, you could do worse. Prices and speed is what has this place going strong. I don't recommend anything because honestly the food is terrible, (7 cashews on the cashew chicken, all on top.) but if your in a hurry, you could do way worse. Also, I am so sick of Subway next door....

Typical cheap chinese carry-out, american style with lots of fried battered chicken covered in sauce dishes. Best part is the variety of pictures of the owners with president obama before he was elected to D.C. and of course the see through kitchen allowing you to literally see your food being made (no funny stuff). Unfortunately, the governors chicken tasted off ketchup and the fried rice was soy sauce on rice. But it was cheap and plentiful so it served its propose. Haven't been back and don't plan on it. Atmosphere zero stars.

I love the fried rice at See Thru Chinese Kitchen - 1 it's always fresh and 2 the portions are very generous.  I usually get the veggie fried rice as I am not much of a meat lover.  Sometimes if I am really lazy I'll get the fried rice after work, take it home and add my own chicken strips.

The veggie egg rolls are decent - nothing to write home about.  I don't eat the regular egg rolls as they have shrimp and pork...  I love the fried won tons but don't get them too often because, well it just seems like a bad idea...you know kinda like having a piece of cake with my piece of cake.

Their menu is pretty huge - seems to be standard Chinese Take out items, good priced varied lunch menu that comes with rice and egg rolls included...again very generous portions.

why 3 stars?  well, the place is pretty small, parking is pretty bad, definitely not a "date" type place, and in the winter if you do decide to eat in for lunch, you will freeze your protruding parts off...AND your lunch will get cold.

I will say this much though, if I lived within their delivery boundaries, I would probably order at least twice a month! (cause that's when I get paid)

I will tell ya, the food is Always Fresh! and hot. It's always so good. We've been ordering from here on lazy nights and I don't believe that we have ever had any bad food from here no matter what the order is. The delivery guy whomever  it will be for the night is always friendly.... if you use grub hub , there are coupons for Free Stuff depending on how much $$ you have spent.

Egg rolls are very good. Beef and Broccoli is amazing, Pan fried noodles are a perfect compliment. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. Prices are reasonable as well. delivery radius seems bigger than average for a city place too.

If you are hungry for Chinese and want it on your doorstop in 20 minutes this is the place to call.  I would recommend ordering in rather than eating at the actual restaurant which is very small and sometimes rowdy inside.  Is this the best Chinese you will ever eat?  No...but it is still good and worth ordering repeatedly.  The prices are cheap and the portions are big.       But seriously call in or get it delivered!

    Best chinese delivery I've had.

I was ordering from china town and my roommate told me that this place was much better. He was right. Great quality on the meats, sauces, and egg rolls. They don't over-fry the egg rolls! This is a huge plus in my book.

The only reason I gave See Thru a 4/5 is because the food shows up at my apartment warm, not hot. They package in plastic containers, which is nice, but it doesn't hold the heat as well as the foil containers. Chinatown is way farther from me (west side), but when I was ordering from there it showed up hotter than from see thru. Still worth it though by all means.

This place offers solid Chinese food, at an extremely low price. I used to pop in here when I worked in this area. The lunch specials were especially a great bargain! Be aware that the parking lot gets SUPER full around lunch time...so plan on looking for a spot!

I always called my order in ahead, as the wait time when you just show up for carry out is insane! Also, there isn't a lot of space to sit down and eat, so carry out/delivery may be a smarter option if you're in a rush.

After a friend repeatedly suggested going here whenever we passed it, my roommate and I caved and tried it out for delivery.

The vegetable friend rice was pretty tasty and actually quite full of vegetables (imagine that!). I enjoyed the veggie egg roll too, but it wasn't anything to swoon over. Even though I was weirded out by the corn in the egg drop soup, I did think it was tasty. All in all, it was pretty standard Chinese and a decent option for ordering in.

My fortune cookie was more like an SAT analogy than a fortune, so a few negative points for that.

I really like this place, but as one Yelper stated you have to tell the staff NO MSG because giving that I have an allergy to this stuff plus it runs your blood pressure up. Other than that the food is pretty good and could use more seating and they should have AC that works in the summer because the last thing waiting customers want to deal with is flies buzzing around in the restaurant. They also deliver for a nominal charge and they accept credit cards with ID.

I usually avoid these places like the plague so if it wasn't for a few circumstances, I wouldn't have ended up here. Surprisingly, it wasn't as bad as I had thought (or maybe super low expectations turned out for the better). I ordered whatever my friend got--chicken with broccoli. She specifically told them white sauce instead of black sauce and it was tasty. Plenty of garlic flavor and the chicken was maybe a bit too tender that it tasted almost unreal but they give you a ton of veggies along with it and rice. Not that oily (I think the "white sauce" helps) but they need to really tone down on the MSG, though, because I drank 8 cups of water there and many more later on. So make sure you tell them no MSG. They're pretty nice about customizing your order.

The place itself looks pretty crappy and rundown and seating is very limited (I think three booth like seats) but they have free water which is very handy for the aforementioned MSG.

mmm... chinese food from see thru sounds so good right now.
even if i don't know what i want, they can be trusted. i literally keep their number on my speed-dial.

what i like about this place:
    1. they deliver. (though, often times, very slowly and double the time that they promise. the one star off is because of this, and my resulting frustration.)
    2. i like everything offered on the chef's specialty list. always.
    3. it is super cheap. (especially the lunch specials!)
    4. it has super large portions ( = leftover chinese food for tara in the morning = happiness).
    5. they remember my address. (i know a lot of places do that, but i like it anyway. :- )  )

not at all good decor, but PERFECT for pick-ups. mmm!

beware of their early closing hours!

9/30/07: Downgrade!! Went back to have the orange chicken and mongolian beef.....not good, not good at all, what a disappointment! Im going to have to stick to the shrimp toast & egg foo young at this place!
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9/1/07: Try the shrimp toast---crispy and juicy at the same time....spent one night in my fridge--zapped it in the microwave and still tasted as good as the night before! I got the egg foo young with extra sauce too....yumm-O!!!

The place is really a take out restaurant....get your food to go and enjoy!  Cheap & huge portions!

The food is decent and the portions are embarrassingly huge, but the place could use a serious scrubbing.  I had a ten minute wait and I stood outside in the rain rather than risk contracting hepatitis from the chairs inside.  The menu is quite extensive and they have a few interesting twists on old favorites.  Unfortunately both times I've ordered from See Thru (this one is See Thru #8, by the way) they've screwed something up in my order.  I recently ripped up their menu in silent protest, but they'll probably never notice.  There seems to be a steady stream of shady types willing to cough up $5 for a three pound container of fried rice.

This is my favorite chinese food to have delivered to my house. It's so good. The portions are big enough for leftovers. The food is always delivered pretty quickly too. I think as far as chinese "fast food" goes it can't be beat. There are pretty good lunch and dinner specials too.

However, It's definitely not a place you would want to eat in because it's really small and usually crowded and cramped for space. Just pick your food up and go.

My favorite is the shrimp egg foo yung. The sauce on it is AWESOME.

I really mean NO stars, but the software won't let me do it.  Food was below average, egg rolls tasted like those frozen ones you buy in bulk at mega-warehouse stores.  Staff was surly and just wanted you out of there so they can get the next person's money.  When food was ready, it was slapped down on the counter and "here".  No thank you, no come again, just... "here".  They have about 7 tables to eat at, but the other reviewer is right, you don't want to eat there.  I was also charged an extra $.50 because I asked for chow mein noodles instead of fried rice.  That's not $.50 for some _extra_ chow mein noodles, it was an extra $.50 to get chow mein noodles _instead_ of the fried rice.  Chow mein noodles come dry in a huge box for a couple bucks.  You have to cook fried rice.  There's not many chinese places in this area, so I'd recommend changing your appetite before taking a chance here.

Only giving this two stars for the amount of food you get in a lunch box for such a low price.

Parking blows, clientelle shabby, dont plan to eat-in.
