Ownership has changed since my last review in 2010 and it is now owned by a Kenyan Lady, thus the food is no longer a fusion of African/American/Jamaican, but more Kenyan and east African  influenced. We tried two dishes (can't remember the names). The dishes were good and plentiful. Wish they would mix it up a little bit and offer dishes from other African countries, but I am pretty sure it would be a bit difficult....oh well!!! The place has potential to take it to another level (commercialy and business wise), but as I know my African people....:)  ...it probably won't happen...but check it out, it's a good place to experience.
Review Source:I had never heard of this club until my friend took me here on Saturday. Â I had the best tiem of my life since I have been in Maryland. Â The drinks, the music and the men were on point. Â I danced for 3 hours and i was already tired. Â I couldn't get over how much fun I could have. Â My roommate enjoyed herself too. Â We are definately going back. Â The only thing about this place is don't go there until 11:30pm because no one will really be in there until then.
Review Source:On the nights I've been to Seska:
1) I'm agitated because it is a nightclub buried in the back of some bumblephuck strip mall in Rockville awkwardly adjacent to 'Beer and wine Latin market" and next to the dumpsters.
2) I'm mystified about why I usually have to fork out a minimum of $10 cover for this suburban Maryland excursion.
3) I'm exhilarated when I enter this small, dark, but surprisingly-not-sketchy-at-all club and hear African beats pumping. A crowd of all age groups typically hailing from the Motherland is alarmingly ready to contort, writhe and jiggle to the early hours.
4) I'm exasperated at the pricey drinks and slow service. The only solution to this is buying more drinks because then one no longer differentiates between the dance floor and bar area so not a single minute is "wasted".
5) I'm exhausted. Seska stays open until 3 which is a great time for the pretty young thangs to duck out as the vultures/suitors begin aggressively circling in an alcohol-infused haze.
This had to be one of the best nights out I've had in a while.  Usually the music at clubs  is so-so, and the girls play hard to get.  But the vibe at Seska's was different.  I can't explain it, maybe it was the nice atmosphere and cheap drinks,  but everybody just seemed so nice.  What I really liked was that it wasn't so small that you couldn't move, and it wasn't so large that you get lost going to the bathroom.
Review Source:This place is like found treasure! Â In this unlikely spot is a beautiful and worldly setting that transports you to a fantastic culinary experience. Â Even better than the food and lovely decor is the unbelievable service; with a professionalism coupled with warmth, the friendly people at Seska will make you want to come back every day. Â The owner, Francesca, seems to always be on hand making everyone feel welcome. Â And the bartender, Sheri, is delightful with her witty repartee and extreme proficiency. Â As a lover of fine food and ambience, I count this as one of my favorites in the area.
