Apparently I have family in Seaside and didn't know it. Came in on a Saturday night to do Karaoke and was welcomed with open arms. There was food because it was somebody's birthday and we were invited to share, and repeatedly ordered to eat. The KJ was awesome and sweet and supportive. The middle aged Filipina who welcomed us was like instant-cousin and the bartender poured strong drinks. Only downside for me was the smoking, but it was pretty well ventilated, so my clothes stank the next day but that just made me feel young again, like it was the 80's.
Review Source:I live up the hill, so yes, I am in fact a local. Â I think most of the people complimenting the local ambience are tourists or something.
Within two minutes of walking in the door and ordering a beer an older woman (fifties-ish - I'm in my twenties) took me aside to warn me that the male clientele might see me as easy pickings, since I came in alone. Â Nice of her to warn me, but... eugh. Â
Filled with smoke, sticky countertops, dark.
OK by far one of the best "dive" bars I have been to in my entire life. Go on a Saturday night early and watch the local lube up for karaoke. NASCAR attire preferred but not recommended. Get your drink on with "COLD" beers, and heavy cocktails. The people watching and crowd are phenomenal. If you in town skip the trendy hipster places and get drunk like the locals. BTW Bartender was totally AWESOME!
Review Source:I was randomly in this neighborhood 'cause I was visiting Monterey on Labor Day weekend. Â Things get booked. Â But the payoff was finding this place!
Friendly, working class dive right across from my motel. Â Fun karaoke with an attentive and kind host. Â Old-school female bartender with a heavy pouring hand ; ). Â Clientele local and not weird. Â Perfect for a chill, low-key evening.
the bartender's are generally sassy old gals that will crack a joke or shiv you. so don't be a douche. on saturday's they have super cheesy karoke. i usually don't tell my friends this. i simply let it unfold before them. they get a little pissy, but then, after having drunk their 3rd very cheap, very heavy handed cocktail they wrestle the mic from other, far scarier looking people and belt out singing.
Review Source:Tore it up last night!!! Â Brought a friend who 1.) thought a dive bar meant a gay bar and 2.) just turned 21 ... turns out she is fab family friends with one of the bartenders there (that was off that night) and we made a lot of new friends. Â I met three good looking Latinos that wanted me to salsa my way home with them and I had to decline and my friend was hanging out with 4 preppy guys (not a place to find preppy boys I must admit) that wanted to gang bang... I'm kidding.... that wanted to take her home hahah! Â But surprisingly, I wouldn't let her. Â I'd feel responsible if anything happened if she'd remember... hiyo. Â Great friendly service as always and I ALWAYS have a memorable time here. Â Greyhounds are my fave drink here!
Review Source:I do love this place for that "dive bar" kind of feel. Cheap, super strong drinks (depends on who's serving and the time of day). I like to stroll in mid week early evening. Weekends are also fun because it gets a little busy and there is entertaining karaoke. Service is always prompt and friendly. Bathrooms aren't too bad. Since smoking is allowed, if you are a girl, pin your hair up or else you will smell like a $3 hooker the next day.
If you like dingy walls, strong drinks, and coin op pool tables, this is your place.
