Love the food here! Bacon fried rice and shaka combo! Delicious and the usual waiters are good. The new hires or younger employees seem confused. Sometimes I want to ring my own order and fill my own glass of water. Other then that food is awesome and the shaved ice is huge (but not as smooth as I would like). Oh, and you can watch sports games here. Bar with all the alcoholic fixings are here.

Review for Bar:

Brian knows his drinks AND his customers. He knows how to approach them in a positive, welcoming manner which ensures our return. It's pretty easy to strike up a conversation with anyone at Shakas' bar because it has such a chill, homey atmosphere. I have never had a dull time here catching up with a few of my close friends. The drinks are affordable and the regulars seem to always be in a good mood. Definitely a great vibe!

Just love this place! I came here during my vacay, I never tried Hawaiian food so I had a lot of anticipation. This place was so good I had to come here again during my week stay. I recommend the "shaka plate" most favored by many foodie. Their flavors are out of this world....or should I say .. country. Since I'm back at home, I've been craving for this like crazy. For those who live nearby there, you are one lucky b****!

Shakas gets busy! SGV locals love the food deals and the drinks here. It's great that there's a hawaiian food restaurant in SGV that isn't Ono Hawaiian or L&Ls.

My friend raves about the friendly bartender and his knowledge of good beer. Though I haven't been lucky enough to have cocktail here yet, I've eaten here twice and can see why it's an area staple. Both times I've come in groups of 6+ and the restaurant accommodates groups well. It's mostly groups that eat here, actually. There wasn't any wait for the table.

This is a 3.5 rating because of its food. Shakas is an OK restaurant with interesting eccentricities that make it popular. In a few words, it's got personality.

The Shakas Plate is a frikking humongous. I like the spam masubi and enjoyed sampling the variety of components. The fried chicken was scrumptious but the rest of the plate wasn't as memorable. However, others at my table substituted components with others of their choosing. It's really cool that the restaurant works with its customers on that! I also ordered their ramen once. It was okay.

I found the wait staff to be a bit lacking and would forget to bring water. They got in the weeds and just forgot refills, but it was easy to ask.

Park on the streets or at the public lot. Multiple credit cards allowed!

It's yummy, I had their Korean BBQ Short Ribs and they were good, a little tough, but the macaroni salad, which I've never liked anywhere; was good. I LOVED their shaved ice though, the ice just kind of melted and wasn't crunchy, almost like snow. I 'd definitely come back for the shaved ice.

Best bartenders at shakas! Great service, great food, great drinks, and great atmosphere. What more can you ask for? The petite male bartender makes the most delicious drinks. Ask him for recommendations. He comes up with the best drinks to cater to your taste. Very helpful guy.

Brian is the nicest bartender ever.
Any drink you want, he can make it.
He makes you feel so welcome, and i noticed that he talks and gets to know his customers.
He makes me the best guava drink ever..I have never tasted it anywhere else.
He is the reason why i come back to this bar
The siracha wings are pretty good too.

You know you've come to the right place when you see Lakers decor in the dining area. It's also one of the few eateries in Alhambra that have happy hours on Sunday's from 10am-7pm. Lots of good deals on tasty cocktails, draft beers and scrumptious appetizers. I love the casual sports bar atmosphere, island style decor and cozy ambiance. With 7 flat screen TVs throughout ( 4 at the bar and 3 dining area), it's the perfect place to hang out and watch a game.

I've been here a few times and the food here is "ONO!" Pretty decent menu selections and good variety of Hawaiian food favorites that are comfortingly delicious. Decent portions and reasonably priced.

For starters, their surf nachos and Spam Musubi are incredibly tasty, delicious and both pair incredibly well with beer. If you're hungry, their Kalua pork plate (traditional Hawaiian shredded pork and cabbage) is savory, tender and superb. The salty and smoky flavors of the shredded pork marry perfectly with the steamed cabbage. The sesame chicken plate is another outstanding dish. Nice and tasty deep fried nugget size chicken drenched with sweet sesame soy sauce that's tender, flavorful and satisfying good. Both come with a side of macaroni salad and steamed rice. The macaroni salad here is excellent, not runny and very delicious. Love fried rice? The bacon fried rice is delightful good and packed with delicious tidbits of fried bacon, fish cake strips, and Portuguese sausage. It's served in a big heaping mound size portion that will leave you stuffed, happy and satisfied. Unfortunately, they don't have a lot of salad options here and only two to choose from (Mango and Chinese Chicken). I found the mango salad dressing to be too sweet/salty and the mango over ripe/cold. For dessert, we ordered a large size Hawaiian shaved ice with condensed milk, vanilla ice cream and 3 flavored syrup (mango, pineapple and coconut). Satisfyingly delicious and a perfect way to end your meal.

Although service can be a hit or miss at times (I've been here when service was stellar and attentive. Other times service was slow, requiring you to flag someone just to get noticed), the delicious food, generous portions and fun atmosphere are definitely worth coming back to.

I hesitated to give this place the one star available.

I've had an issue with their service a couple of years ago when I was with my friend Jim. We complained to one of our mutual friends that is friend with the owner of the restaurant. We figured that since it was a friend of a friend's establishment maybe we shouldn't blast the issue online.

On 4/5/13 I revisited the restaurant with my friend Jim (Same guy that was with me last time) and we received the same bizarre treatment again! Even though I reminded him of how unpleasant our last visit was! We walked in anyway...

We sat in the corner of the bar waiting for the bartender to serve us. We waited for him to take the rest of the orders down the bar, hoping he would come to us after to ask us what we want to drink or eat. After he did his rounds of ordering for the existing party he "looked" at us and then looked away... grabbed an onion ring from a customer's plate, took a bite and just stood there watching the basketball game.

I mean REALLY?

We left and went to 38 Degrees Ale House and Grill instead... We had a great experience there and they have so many craft beer choices! Highly recommended!

If you are reading this and you are part of the management of Shakas Hawaiian Restaurant you need to know that I will do my best to advertise your horrible service to all my friends and readers.

Thank you for wasting my time.

this place confused the hell out of me... the food here is just overpriced for what they are. Food here is not that bad, but i don't see where it's going either. The menu is really small and most of the items are very similar. the service here is a situation where there is not much service going on. the servers just do what needs to be done. it's not bad service but it's not anything amazing. i ordered the hawaiian sunfish with mango salsa. my fish was cooked really well, except the mango salsa was super sweet... the chili plate is just like the top of a chili dog on rice. how the hell is that a proper dish? maybe i'm being crazy, but the food here really confused me.

I came here 2 days ago with a group of friends after playing some ball. It was fairly empty with just a few other tables. We got seated prompty and the waitress told us there was 10 minutes left in Happy hour in case we wanted to order anything. Cool!

We got 2 nacho fries and 1 teriyaki wings to split amongst our group of 7.

Nacho fries were good... i love the liquid nacho cheese so that was an easy decision.

I'm not a fan of teriyaki wings so not surprisingly, i didn't like the wings too much. Maybe ill try the sriracha wings next time.

For my dinner, i got the loco moco. It was good but not amazing. I'm not sure what it was but i just felt like it was lacking something.

Also tried a piece of the fried chicken off my friends shaka plate and that also was good but not great. Again, i felt there was something missing.

Everything is pretty heavy here as most of the menu items are fried but my friends seem to like this place so i might give it another try.

I liked it. I had the chicken avocado wrap. It wasn't THAT amazing. I just chose something that had the lower calorie option because I'm watching what I'm eating. But what my friends ordered was absolutely delicious! The combos are huge! I would definitely come back when I'm not dieting and order something bigger and better. The chicken avocado wrap was mostly all lettuce. It tasted better with sriracha sauce.

aloooooha! 3.5 stars

recently came by with the hubs for dinner. we each had a 442nd COMBO. it consists of a plate lunch combo with two items. he had the KALUA PORK and MOCHIKO CHICKEN and i had the SHORT RIBS and HULI HULI CHICKEN.

i was very happy with my meal. what i was surprised about was that although these were plate lunches island style with the scoop of rice and mac salad, they didn't have the huge island portions i anticipated. ACTUALLY a really good thing, as i was stuffed and food was well executed and tasty.

the restaurant is a good casual place to go. there are about 8 TV screens hanging on the walls. a bit too much for me, but it's a good spot to take the kids, as well as a date. service is friendly and warm.

would definitely come back for more... looking forward to next time! ~ mahalo

This is my first time back in about 7 years. I honestly have totally forgotten about this place... unfortunately.

I love the whole vibe of Shakas. There are many tables to sit and it is not entirely crowded during dinner time as well. The waitresses and service is very good.

I think the food at shakas tastes like any other Hawaiian places. All the food is really good and this restaurant gives you really big portions as well.

I asked the waitress what she suggested on the menu and she recommended the Honu Pepper Chicken. This is not a typical hawaiian dish that I have had before but it was really good. I love the spiciness of the chicken. This dish does not come with teriyaki sauce thoug.. but it's still really good! I woudl recommend this if you like spicy stuff.

Overall... I recommend!

I've had this twice in one week already. Just try the Shakas Plate and you'll instantly want to come back for more. It has a little bit of everything. Pretty big portion. There's a noticeably better quality and taste in the food than other Hawaiian restaurants. We actually said "wow" out loud because it was that much better than what we were expecting.

Everyone raves about the large portion of the Shaka plate.
For about $11 you get a plate with some beef teriyaki, deep fried-saucy chicken, spam musubi, salad, and rice. For that price, they would either need to make slightly larger portions of everything or make it taste significantly better. It's not bad, it's just that I've never spent that much money in a casual Hawaiian restaurant before.

I did try their mochiko chicken, though. I had just a hint of sweetness to it and was not drenched in sauce. That, I wouldn't mind trying again.

Decent food, LOUSY service. Placed a carry out order and waited 25 mins for it to be handed to me. I asked what took so long and the girl said their ticket machine was broken and had to be fixed. Instead of being apologetic, she got angry and sarcastic with me for being upset that I had to wait so long. Then when I complained to the "supervisor" (I was told the manager was not there), he seemed completely indifferent to my woes and could care less that the girl had been rude to me. Zero attempts were made to make me a satisfied customer.

Good food is only part of the equation in having a successful restaurant. If a broken ticket machine brings the food service to a screeching halt and the employees can't effectively deal with an angry customer -- it's failed. And if you go to the Shaka's website, they have no way to submit a customer complaint. Double Fail.

Sorry, done with this location. Maybe I'll visit the Monterey Park location where the prices are cheaper, but the Alhambra Shaka's can go straight to the crapper.

But they stop serving food at 10 :/

The place is a little too dark in my opinion.

This place never disappoints. I've been going here ever since my high school days and although the menu is a bit pricey, their food is definitely worth it. For around a $10-$15 budget the Shaka plate is a much recommended dish that can be shared between two people. The meal portions have gotten slightly smaller over the years but the servings are just enough to satisfy your cravings of chicken, pork, and beef though the rice never seems enough for the amount of food in the plate so you might have to ask for a side order. Food at Shakas is a bit heavy on the salt so if you'd like to get the saltiness of your mouth, I recommend trying their shaved ice as a light dessert to end your meal.

i love this place! best hawaiian restaurant! they give you a large amount for it's price compared to other places! the quality of the hawaiian food is different and way better than an Ono Grill and L&L.

Get their Shaka's plate! It's $11-$12 but it is a large portion that has everything! it includes rice with sweet battered chicken wings, beef, salad, spam musubi, and macaroni salad. i love their salad! it's made chinese chicken salad style, and their macaroni salad has the right amount of mayo (not too runny).

if you are getting spam mitsubi, get it here! When I do not feel like eating a lot I just get their spam Matsubi.

Another good one is their Mochika Chicken plate!

the restaurant itself is spacious so its ideal for large groups. they also have a bar for happy hour drinks at certain times.

parking is easy to find and free on the streets.

This place has gone down hill over the years. I grew up in the SGV, and this was one of my favorite places. This last time we were there the cashier only took half our order, and then when we sat down to eat only brought us one of the meals we ordered. It turns out she didn't even hear my husband order his meal, and never charged us. It was a huge mess. I left full, and my husband left irritated. We just went across the street to get him a burger, no one at Shaka's even offered to bring him his meal or expedite preparing him something. Nothing. I won't go back to the Alhambra location any more after this. Monterey Park from now on when I'm visiting back home.

I come to this place more for NFL Sunday football combined with their happy hour special.

On Sundays they open extra earlier than other restaurants in the area. Shakas has a full bar w/ liquor and some domestic beer/ craft beer that's on tap which works for me.
I love the fact that I can come and watch my football team on some nice flat screens and pay a reasonable price to drink the craft beer.

If you plan on coming to this place during the day and having only their appetizers then you might be disappointed, but if you come to have a couple drinks and have a nice entrée than you should be pretty content.

The service I give about 3.5 on average. Sometimes you get awesome service and other times you can get shitty service. Its more of a hit and miss. I will tell you this though, if you are pre-gaming for the club, drinking while watching the game, or going to get drunk at this place. You should have a good time.

Would I come back? Yes

Where the heck has this place been hiding? I swear I've walked by this place a dozen times and never thought it would be completely different than the Shakas in Monterey Park/Montebello border.

It was quiet. I got a beer. My buddy got a chicken bowl, I had some and it tasted great. It was pretty quiet in there and I will definitely be back for a quiet date here.

Tried the loco moco and it was by far a lot better than the one I tried at a different location. It comes with mac salad and some cooked broccoli, but the broccoli was a little over cooked for my taste. I also got a chance to try their spicy chicken dish which was good as well. Overall......friendly service and good food

Would def come again

I've been going to Shakas since the mid-late 90's, back when their Monterey Park location was one of the very few Hawaiian restaurants in the area that existed. I used to visit Shakas several times a month when I used to live in San Gabriel. Being raised on Japanese-style Hawaiian food and "local" favorites from Hawai'i, it was great to finally have a place in the area where I could order it at any time without having to drive all the way to L.A., Gardena, or Torrance. Those cities were the only places my family and I knew of that had Hawaiian-style restaurants. It was also cool to "share" the food I was raised on with friends who had never heard of such things like saimin, kalua pork, spam musubi, loco moco, and Portuguese sausage before. I'd guess that most people in the area are probably now familiar with most of those food items due to the abundance of fast-food Hawaiian restaurants popping up just about everywhere these days.

Both locations have always had friendly employees and good food. I've tried just about everything on their menu, but my favorite things to order here are their sesame chicken wings, mochiko chicken, and kalua pork. Shakas should be known for their amazing, flavorful, sesame chicken wings! They really are THAT good. No need for any dipping sauce whatsoever! If you wanna try another "unique" food item not found in Hawaiian fast-food joints in the area, you should also order Shaka's mochiko chicken (which is a common item found at "plate lunch" take-out places in Hawai'i).

I also really enjoy their happy hour here. Not only are there great prices for draft beer, the bartenders are also really friendly and cool too. There was an awesome female bartender who worked this past Thursday night who was very friendly and attentive, always making sure to check up on me and everyone else, even though the place was packed. Very much appreciated. There's also some really cool live music on certain nights as well. I absolutely enjoyed listening to a singer-songwriter named @JoniLlamedo who I saw perform for the first time this past Thursday night. It was cool to see so many other people enjoying her songs and staying late til past 11pm to hear her perform a nice variety of music including reggae, pop, alternative, R&B, oldies, original songs that she wrote, and also take requests! She mentioned that she currently performs there every other Thursday night. If you have an appreciation for musical talent like I do, you should check her out! And, treat yourself to some of those unforgettable sesame chicken wings too!

This place is a little better than the Monterey Park branch but not much better. Working in the South Bay, I've had some great Hawaiian food and I can't say that this can compare to that.

The only two things I order here are the Portuguese sausage & eggs and the fried saimin. Both of those dishes are really good. The rest of the menu.....eh.

I'm giving this place 3 stars because they also have a bar and serve alcohol. The bar is open late.

One of my friends brought over some Shaka's today when she came to visit me at my Mom's house. I haven't had Shaka's in a long time, especially because I no longer live in the area.

I had the Shaka plate, and I must say it doesn't taste anything like it used to 10 years+ ago. The quality of meat isn't the same. The Teriyaki beef is not the same meat they used to use. What happened to the sesame chicken wings? There are no more bones? The sauce isn't the same? It's definitely gone down in quality!

I used to love Shaka's spam musubi, but now that I make it on my own, I can honestly say that I can make it 10x better. I'm nowhere near a cook or chef, but mine beats Shaka's hands down.

The only things that remain consistent that I still love: The Chicken Salad, the dressing, and the Hawaiian canned juices. These tasted exactly how I remembered!

I'm wondering if this place has changed management or owners? I remember that Wilson and Joel were running the place when I used to eat at the Monterey Park location. Benson was one of the cooks and that's when the food was fantastic. I'm talking about almost everything: the chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki, loco moco, chicken katsu, ramen, etc... I can go on and on. It just wasn't the same for me.

This is a fun place to eat. 2 years back in 2010 I was there with 2 large tables (14 of us?) They treated us with great service and excellent food. It's nice that there are tv's to watch sports on as well. It's a good atmosphere, and quiet enough to hear everyone talking but definitely not a quiet place haha.

This year I was there in June and ordered to go for the first time. I had their bacon fried rice. I thought they under charged me, but it turns out if you order to go, it's cheaper for some reason. Pretty cool deal if you ask me.

Service is fast and we were out in like 10 minutes. The bacon fried rice is really good, it's actually got a ton of other stuff in it as well, including my favorite green onions haha. the bacon is not as crisp as I would have liked but that's what happens when you put it in fried rice which is cooked in oil. It was very good and we had left overs so a bunch of other people ate some as well. I would highly recommend it if you get a chance. That or the shaka plate, a bunch of fried stuff and spam, oh spam! people think this is horrid food, but if you pan fry spam, which they do, it's a totally different beast and has a great carmelized outside, kinda like hot dogs that are almost charred, and the inside is a nice fatty flavorful explosion :)

Came in here one weeknight when Boiling Crab was nutso and my family of nine got seated right away even though there were a lot of folks watching the Kings match.

Service is attentive--they kept bringing us more of their yummy fruit punch unasked! And they have plenty of good food for cheap. Even the non-Hawaiian onion rings were tasty. You really can't go wrong with anything you choose and since there were many of us, we practically got the whole menu.

Great experience and perfect for kids; my godmonster (I love him to pieces!) kept asking his Pop for "mo wice pueeze." And I couldn't stop eating everyone's macaroni salad which wasn't greasy in the least bit.

Good choice for nice-n-easy Hawaiian fare : )

This review is solely for Brian the bartender.

My gf and I came in just to catch a drink and get the scoop on each others lives, we had no intention on getting DRUNK and making a new friend.

The minute we sat at the bar Brian was incredibly friendly and welcoming. What we really enjoyed was that he wasn't the typical douchey bartender who thinks they're all hot shit because they're in control of the alcohol. Nor was he overbearing or creepy. It probably helps that along with his laid back, easy going personality he's not bad to look at...no really, he is pretty fun to look at ladies!

When you go to the bar at this Shakas everyone knows him by his name or will leave saying goodbye to him by his name. Even after that first meeting, the next time we came by he remembered our drink orders and took care of us all night, making us feel attended to despite the mass of people fighting for his attention.

He also mixes the music that they play at the bar and his mix takes you back to the good ol' days. Well, he has his trance/dubstep mix as well as his hiphop/r&b mix, the latter one taking you back, making you bob your head as you exclaim, "Oh shiiiit this is THE jam!"

It's always a good trip when you're getting your drinks served up by Brian, which is why this regular of Oiwakes (where he is also well known at) has to now decide between Oiwakes and Shakas when in want of a drink or two.

GOP girls (Mai, Michelle F and Priscilla) love you Brian!

Empty on a Tuesday night, but as a Hawaii native I just had to test the authenticity.

They had Hawaiian Sun on the menu, but I have a feeling it's the new packet ones that make about a litre at a time, since it didn't have the nectar pieces the can usually has.

The onion rings were fried Japanese style and were much better than American fried imo. Dipped in shoyu yumm

I had the lau lau of course, since lau lua is something L&L doesn't have usually. It was yummy, with the block of fat and the piece of butterfish. The mac salad was delicious as well. Everything, including the lau lau, was yummy but had a hiint of a bit more... healthiness than at home. haha, less oil, less fat. less heavy feeling. it was just a bit fancier than usual. that's expected on the mainland I guess.

The lomi salmon, well I thought it might be salsa, but it was a very very fancy lomi-salmon. Chunks of sushi-like salmon pieces, with tomato, had the right taste, but much bigger pieces than the container I buy at foodland.

Over all, yeah I'd come back and eat everything else on the menu.

I'm sorry, I don't quite follow the trend. Was it something I missed? Did I order the wrong item? This is what I tried:

kalua pork: Dry and way, way too salty. Slight bbq flavor, but so dry that I had to put a variety of hot sauce on it just to see if I could make it taste a bit better. I ate about 1/3 of it and left the rest alone. Rice was cooked nicely though and the macaroni salad was very creamy (even though I personally don't like macaroni salad). The pickled cabbage/veggie thing was too salty as well, but held a nice refreshing crunch.

loco moco: Seasoned very well, though once again, way too salty for my taste. Tender and tasty though.

After I finished eating (or tasting) the food, I couldn't eat any more. I had a weird slimy filmy taste in my mouth/back of my throat and I didn't feel too great. I left feeling unsatisfied and ended up eating another dinner at home. I'll give it 2 stars instead of one since the loco moco wasn't that bad. Everything was just much too salty though. If I ever come again (my coworker loves this place), maybe I'll get a combo and see what I like from there...

Kinda overrated, but the food here is pretty good. I prefer to go to ONO Grill because the prices are cheaper at ONO. I'm not much of a fan of Hawaiian food, but I do enjoy their saimin and spam musubi.

I really like that this place has a bar and lots of tvs around the restaurant to watch sports games. I wish they had more tables at this place though, but considering their limited with space, its fine.

The waiters were very helpful when it came time for us to pick our flavors for our shaved ice. We got the small 3 flavored shaved ice with cantaloupe, watermelon, and I forgot the last flavor. We also added condensed milk & ice cream to it, but the ice cream didn't go well with the shaved ice, so I suggest not getting the ice cream. We asked for extra condensed milk and they happily squeezed it onto our plate for no charge :)

Food comes out pretty quick and we were in and out of there in an hour.

My boyfriend and I bought $35 worth of food here for only $3 from http://restaurant.com and unfortunately it was for dine in only. Why does the menu have to be so cheap? (not this time at least and can't believe I'm saying this too) well we ordered a Shaka plate, shoyu salmon, popcorn chicken, fries, spam musubi, and onion rings. This is like a 5 person meal. We were seated on at a small table by the bar.aTheist and the total came out to be $. And no we didn't finish them. Took it home and ate it for lunch and dinner the next day. The waitress was probably like dayumm fata**.

Omg the food was amazing. Decent price for large portions of bombdiggity food.

Came here for their happy hour and my girlfriend ordered their spam musubi and bbq pork bun appetizer and I had the bbq pork sliders. Parking is not a problem, just park in the back lot(s). When we got there, they weren't very busy since it was still early. But the ambiance was very nice. Very hawaiian-like with tiki poles and totem poles and whatnot. There's also a bar area for those who wanted to watch their sports games on flat screens. The server was very attentive and kept asking if everything was okay. I had ordered their 20 oz super size hurricane drink. Sex & the beach flavaaa; it was yummy! :)

I can imagine this place getting rowdy and loud on busy nights. Definitely a place for groups.

Their homemade potato chips that came with my pork sliders were soooo nomskies.

I love the service here. It's always quick, precise and prompt. You can't go wrong here as the menu lays out the typical staples of Hawaiian "cuisine". I personally like the combos, even though they are more expensive, I like having the perception that I got EVERYTHING possible!!!! Who's with me?!?! Haha.

4 stars on this mainly for the service & ambiance. The food is going to be good, just like all Hawaiian food is, you can't go wrong w/ spam, ramen and bbq. So, speaking about the ambiance, you're going to get a good Hawaiian feel here. Unlike L&L where you're pretty much in a cookie cutter fast food setup.

If you're okay with paying a few bucks extra for great service and strong ambiance, I'd highly recommend Shakas. One of the better Hawaiian joints on my list :)

As an aside, parking is good here, the city does as good job w/ ensuring there's a lot nearby. However, come Friday/Saturday at the wrong hours and you may be scurrying for patrons making their exits to nab the precious openings. Be warned.

Read my friend Eugene's review of this place and he's absolutely right. Except for the part where he said this was our group's favorite restaurant growing up; I personally only come here because my friends always suggested it. But yeah, nowadays we come to Shakas when a bunch of our friends from home want to catch up, watch some games, and don't feel like driving very far. One can come here for a casual lunch or dinner and won't go wrong as long as one orders the Shakas plate. There have been a couple of occasions where we've been guilty of wanting to try something else on the menu only to end up regretting not getting the Shakas plate.

What's in the Shakas plate? A bit of everything but enough to make you full. You'll get two pieces of spam musubi, a chicken salad with great dressing, macaroni, boneless chicken and teriyaki beef, and a side of white rice.

I've only gotten a couple of drinks from the full bar here and didn't really like the way they were concocted so I stopped ordering drinks when I come here. So if you want to get a few drinks and watch the games, then maybe you should go to an actual sports bar type of place.

The service can be a bit slow at times, even when the place doesn't seem very busy. But at least the staff is friendly. During certain seasons, they'll have promotion jersey giveaways of the local teams, which is cool if you're a fan of the Lakers or Kobe (of both I am not). The atmosphere can get a bit rowdy but it's fun and festive to have homers jeering at you if they know you're rooting against the LA teams.
