Not a wing and Rib joint...it's a drinking joint for happy hour!

Happy hour specials are good.  They definitely cater to the student crowd of Blacksburg.  Their crap dip is outstanding! Shark Juice on Wednesdays is my favorite.  Their Long Island Iced Teas aren't for the faint of heart.  Heck, none of their drinks are. Usually very busy and noisy.  Their is a pool table in the back if you can ever get to it.   I have tried most of their menu items (ribs, salads, wings, etc.) but they aren't anything outstanding.  The pizza bar is pizza brought in from somewhere else.

Wing and Rib Joint?  Better name would be Blacksburg's best place to drink underage.  The happy hour specials are ok I guess, I mean a bottom of the barrel double poured rot gut liquor drink is what it is.

Like most businesses in downtown Blacksburg, Sharkey's mostly caters to students. It is true that they have excellent happy hour specials, but if you aren't going there to drink, my recommendation is to eat an early dinner (I suggest Monday's BOGO burgers). After the bar crowd comes in, this place is ridiculous. I went here for a late dinner once and I'm pretty sure we were the only ones eating. By the end of the meal, it was standing room only and people were crowded around our table. The slow service isn't reserved for busy times. The service is always slow. The burgers are pretty good, the wings are pretty good, and the ribs are the best you'll find in Blacksburg.

As for those looking to drink: If you love cheap drinks and pushing your way through a solid mass of fraternity brothers, this is your place.
