Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar

The owners of the Christiansburg property need to clean up the whole place or bulldoze it. We went on 12/22/2012 after a morning of shopping and prepping for the holidays. Our tired group was 4 women and 3 guys. The place was not busy at 2:30 PM. A few people at the bar and it appeared to be four other tables seated.  That was it!  The hostess with a big cold sore on her upper lip seated us quickly. We were glad she was not the server. Two of the female servers had big cold sores also around their mouths!  We did get the lone male server who was annoying, kept calling the men in the group "Bud", and he was slow as can be. We had decided we were going to leave if our server had inflamed cold sores.  Okay, enough about the herpes on the females.  The Women's bathroom was disgusting.  Water standing in the dirty floor, foul smelling, and it did not appear to have been cleaned in months so it could not be blamed on some lunch time rush. The carpet is stained and filthy in the dining room. The dining room had a moldy and dirty smell. The menus had dried food on them. The table was sticky. The overhead light had a thick layer of dust on it. I handed out antibacterial wipes to everyone at our table to wipe the table and the menu. The kitchen was "backed up" according to our server when we inquired about our food 25 minutes after we ordered.  What?!  Backed up from a supposedly large carry out order he replied. We said to cancel our orders and bring us the bill for our drinks.  The server and the "manager" came over with our food instead of the bill. The food was not worth the wait.  My husband's mashed potatoes were not on his plate. We were all about done with our meals when the server bought the potatoes.  I know they did not peel, boil, and mash these potatoes so don't know what the holdup was. We will not visit that Applebee's again. No wonder there are rarely any cars there except Friday and Saturday night.

This place gets worse with every visit. The menu changes don't help.

Applebee's is the most average place in the world. People who go there are the opposite of adventurous, or have received a gift card from someone else. I am in the second category.
