As long as I hit a ball with my stick then I feel like I accomplished something. Needless to say, pool is not my thing. Maybe if I had a better teacher than the person I went with. There was a fair amount of people here enjoying the game. We didn't stay too long though. It's not a place I would feel safe to come by myself at night. The parking lot is well lit though.

It's my first time visiting Sharky's and it was alright to say the least. If you just want to play pool all day/night,  rates are pretty cheap, $5/hour minimum for 1-2 people and $9/hour for  3-more people. The place has a good amount of tables and it seems to be the "kick" it spots for the younger crowd. However, there weren't many people when i went on a Friday night. I guess no one likes to play pool on Friday nights, lol. They also have a jukebox with an average selection of music of different genres($1 for 2 songs) and a few arcade games: Street Fighter, Tekken Tag, and a shooting game. It would have been nice if they played music all night for free, but they gotta make money one way or another. Overall, If you you're looking for something to do on a weekend, go here, it's a good place to kill some time.

What else is there to do in Sacramento at night besides the usual bowling? Billiards!
Though it's located in a sketchy neighborhood, right across the famously known "ghetto" Walmart on Florin, this place is great. Don't really remember the price since I didn't pay, but I believe that it was cheap. There's a juke box for extra entertainment while playing pool. I sucked at pool even though I played a couple times before, but the (owner?) was nice enough to help me even without me asking for help. He gave a few tips which actually helped me win, but then again maybe I won because the person i played against sucked more than I did lol. Basically, it's enjoyable, another option for my fellow night owls in Sac.

Sharkys is my go to place whenever I feel like some "Pool Time" The crowd is quite young and the diversity is good. The beers are $3 not bad I haven't ordered their food yet. The jukebox is cool although free music would be nice. Its a good place to hangout plus the owners/workers are cool they seem to keep the place together and its always peaceful from my experience.

    Gangsta vibe.

    And like ten 100 dollar bills, I'm a G.

So I felt right at home.

I hear from friends that this place is notorious for gang fights and shootings, but I've been there a few times BEFORE 9pm and it's just a quiet pool hall!!  My recent visit was very interesting since my friends and I decided to stay from 5pm-8pm on a random Thursday and between then we were the only ones aside from some couples that came in for a short 30 minute game.  The worker, a bald, oriental man of what looks like Filipino descent was playing Call of Duty and gave us credits on the jukebox which we decided to use.. on N'Sync, Deadmau5, Robin Thicke, everything ELSE that's not rap.  This place I would recommend to shoot billiards after school or just to have some fun!

In high school, this was my 2nd home. I learned how to shoot pool when Jared, Lenard, Randy, JC (Big Daddy) and Pat was still here. Every time I come here, I get nostalgic. There were tournaments held here every Wednesdays. This place was THE PLACE where EVERYBODY knows your name. Back when I was playing, anyone that lost would come to my table to help me practice in my pool skills. I do anything to have those days back...

It is now under a new owner. The usual workers are no longer there, but if you're with good company, this place can always be your 2nd home too.

I use to shoot pool here all the time when I lived in Sacramento. Busy nights arent that bad and tables usually are open. If i remember right, the tables are kind of close, but the price is cheap. They have tournaments everyweek.  They open late too so you can go when you feel like it. There is a bar, but I never really drank much while playing when I was here.

This is a very laid back place. I love going here to shoot pool. Me and this place go way back! The workers here are really nice too! It's a nice place to have a beer or two and play pool or watch a game on T.V.

Its a great place. Its like a Landmark by now, everyone once came here at one point. Great Memories, Good People, Out  having fun... I have been coming here since Tower Records and Florin Mall were still open...  They have alot of Tables to play on, Arcades, including a Pinball machine for those Fanatics... This place reminds me of the bar one that show Cheers... Where everyone know your name... Its very welcoming and a great place to go for billiards... Go there and check it out for yourself...

First timer. Even though the place was a little crowded, stuffy, and musty, I had a good time regardless. Good vibes, good times. The owner was real chill, he gave us pointers and semi-entertainment. At least I think he was an owner there? I don't know, or probably just an employee but whatever. I'll be bach next week!

One of my favorite spots $3 beer, billiards by the hour, tv, video arcade, snacks, appetizers, since new management took over the quality of people who come has been a lot better.  The night manager used to be a bodyguard so it feels safe to be there in the late night.

I used to go out of my way to find pool halls in town. I live in the South Sac/Elk Grove area and I just didn't want to have anything to do with Sharky's. I heard too many bad things from people who played there. Since then I started working at the new Starbucks in the town center and decided to bring my cue along and head there after work. The place is quiet on weekdays, nice to play at when you are a serious player looking for quiet practice time. It's also packed on weekends, but the wait  isn't so long. There isn't much drama at all these days. A couple of shady faces, but apparently the new ownership has it under control. I love playing Sharky's. Closest place to me with regulation sized tables. They also have an alright drink selection. Being a pool player I took one star because a good number of tables need new felt, but it's really not that big of a deal. Good place, forget the area, it's still great.

    Sharky's is a classic.

I recently returned to Sacramento after a long odyssey and I patronized an old childhood haunt.  When I was an even younger man I would walk over to this place or the Tower Records (RIP)  or Florin Mall (RIP) nearby.  When I came to this place last week I recognized what lived in my memories.  Since it was a weeknight the place was empty, even late into the evening thereby leaving plenty of tables for use by my friends and me.  Four people on one table over four hours came up to a $25 tab.

I love this place, it closes at 2am sat/sun and 1:30am on the weekdays so its a good spot to be at late at night when everything else is closed. There was a 20mintue wait but who cares the place was packed with alot of asians(viet people since it is in a viet community). There are some games there that are addicting like the street fighter one. It's cheap to 8 dallors an hour for 3 people and 3+ people its 9 dallors. First time playing pool and it was a good experience, looking forward to coming back to this place. Great spot to just chill and have a drink with friends.

Let's go waaaay back when Sharky's was straight up hot spot for gangstas.. Crazy dramatic memories, when Sharky's get brought up people get all nervous thinkin twice bout enemies and viet thugs what not.

Well, luckily times passed and shark'ys made a wonderful transition.  Now we can go shoot pool close to home instead of goin up north to family billiards like we used to. (Family Billiards, another gang/hot spot)

I come here time to time, dont really enjoy time there tho.. Need more drinks and space!!!

It's been awhile since I've been here, but when I was in high school, we'd come here to shoot pool.  Lots of Asian folks, hanging out, shooting pool, playing video games.

Kind of a small place, but it holds about 7-8 pool tables, and there's a bartender as well.

Its in the same plaza as del taco, and tower records.
