I think this place is pretty standard for happy hour. They have some pretty good options - sliders, thai noodles (unique bonus point), tacos, and of course drinks. I actually got the quesadilla off the happy hour menu and it was pretty good, although not too exciting. Nothing really stood out to me with the drinks or anything, but I like the long mirror against the backdrop of the drinks and the setup inside - it has a sort of circus-like feel and a good playful vibe to hang out with coworkers or friends after work.
Review Source:I'm with many reviewers here in saying that Monkey Bar doesn't have much wrong with it, but there is nothing remarkable to make me go out of my way to come here either.
The bar inside is nice but seating is relatively limited - especially on colder nights when nobody wants to sit outside. The pool table in back is fun, although I'm bummed that they removed many of the old concert posters on the wall that gave the room a lot of charm. Happy hour is filled with great deals if you're in the area.
Like Bar R15/Cafe Bernardo, the other adjoining bar/restaurant in the Paragary restaurant empire, Monkey Bar connects with a Cafe Bernardo next door, making for east access to eats, but also providing a strange mix of people looking for a pleasant cafe atmosphere and raucous young smokers looking to drink and party.
