Let's ignore the fact that this awesome beer-bar is just two blocks away from my house - even if it was miles away I'd still want to be there all the time. The only reason I'm not there every day is because the beer is just beyond my comfortable pricing zone for every day drinking. It's my treat bar. I love trying new and different beers and Pangea has plenty to choose from, including a Lambic Bar.
There's wonderful patio seating and if you get tired of incredible, hand-crafted beers, you can hop across the street and pick up some Ice Cream at Gunthers. Good times all around.
My favorite bar in Sac hands-down- WOW, I can't believe I finally chose one, but this is it. Â I have been coming here ever since I stumbled into it after my lactose intolerance kicked in at Gunther's Ice Cream next door. Â Ok, that may be too much information, but all you need to know, is that ever since that fateful day, I can't get enough of Pangea!
I love that if you come during the day, you will find law students from nearby McGeorge Law "studying". Â Hey, I am not judging. Â Maybe if I had studied at a bar in law school, my experience wouldn't have been so miserable. Â
Back to the BEER: I love their beer selection. Â These guys definitely know what they are doing. Â I love their Alagash brews and ever-changing selection. Â Plus, the vibe is great and it gives oldies like me a good chance to feel hip all the while coming home by 11pm to crawl into my bed and sleep. Â (It closes early 10-11pm, but I am old so that's ok with me).
The newly opened lambic bar next door gives this place an extra coolness factor. Â I have traveled all over the world and never have I come across a "lambic bar"- so cool. Â Ok, I am gushing. Â But if you decide to heed my advice, you just may find me there tonight!
This used to be a good place to go and have some great beer with the family but now has become dominated by groups of loud singles who lurch and careen all over the place as they drink too much. The food is has shown little if any improvement . The roast beef sandwich had Grizzled meat. NOT kid friendly at all and it's located in the middle of a neighborhood!
