The first time I ever noticed this bar was when I was attending the second Yelp event of the week, just across the street at Article Consignment Boutique: http://www.yelp.com/even… Â
I was thinking to myself: "Hey! That looks like an interesting place to check out sometime!" Â When I mentioned it to my boyfriend, he said, "We are going there in a few days for another Yelp event to see the San Francisco Giants play." Â That's when I was convinced that I just couldn't miss out! Â The building was pretty big and I could tell it was a popular place to hang out.
Our private Yelp event was held in a separate room where it handled our crowd pretty well. Â At times we were a little cramped as people came and went, and seating was a little hard to find. Â But it didn't seem to be a problem, since Yelpers are well known for mingling and never staying in one spot for long. Â We had one huge projection screen TV in the middle front part of the room and a smaller flat screen TV at another side wall. Â I couldn't see much of the other side of the lounge area, but I did notice it was also capable of seating a large number of customers and there were plenty of TV's placed around the bar areas for all those sports fanatics. Â
Our waitress did a great job keeping up with the thirsty and hungry Yelpers. Â I was impressed at how she managed to remember everyone's orders and keep accurate track of tabs. Â They have a tempting menu of food options and appetizers. Â I ordered the "Zucchini Planks" with a side of ranch dressing. Â They were cooked perfectly, breaded and crunchy on the outside with flavorful zucchini slices on the inside. Â Just watch out when they first arrive, it was piping hot and I burned by tongue while taking that first bite! Â Along with my appetizer, we were treated to all-you-can-eat free tacos as part of our special Yelp event. Â We had a choice of beef or chicken street style tacos. Â I had the chicken and they were delicious! Â We also got to enjoy Happy Hour, but I made the mistake of not asking what the drink specials were and assumed that a margarita would be a given. Â I ended up paying regular prices when my tab came at the end of the evening. Â
Oh well, I still had a great time here and hope to return again to check out more Happy Hours and try out more of the food!
As I mentioned in my previous review, I made it a point to return on a less festive occasion to enjoy everything Clubhouse 56 has to offer. I did recently, and what I learned was this is one of the best multi-occasion venues in Sacramento.
Sports viewing is the obvious reason to come here. They have two of the largest, clearest and most state-of-the-art projection and theater systems, making any game like going to the movies with dozens upon dozens of your most enthusiastic friends. However, the real treat here is the food. I've eaten a good cross section of the menu, from their generously-portioned and decadent burger to their flavorful street taco basket. Combined with one of the many beers on tap and friendly service, it's like affordable fine dining in a casual setting.
It's also a great place to bring the kids, as they have plenty of seating, an eclectic menu and weekly pasta nights.
In short, 56 reasons is far fewer than I have to come back often.
