Sharp Shooters is awesome! Â Located in a fairly large strip mall, tucked away in a corner above TJ Maxx. Â Park anywhere in the free, private lot below and head upstairs to a pool players haven. Â My beers were served ice cold, in a frosty mug, and quite possibly at the best beer temperature ever. Menu of pub grub (the wings looked and smelled delicious). Â A lot of great tables and tvs, and a crowd comprised of older and younger billiard aficionados alike. If you're into the game, then you must plan on playing at Sharp Shooters.
Review Source:So at first this place seem soooooo sketch! And it should!
Its on the corner of sunset, to enter this place you have to go upstairs & as soon as you enter you're wrapped in a cloud of smoke that takes a couple washes to extinguish!
But thats all sort've the cool and TV show-esque local Billiard club and bar feel to it that you can't replace.
I like coming here because its always keep to play, its always the same good 'ol workers who will drink and play with you and there are certain nights where you can play pool AND get free beer!
Obviously, don't come if you're sensitive to smoke 'cause you will literally cough up a lung in here. But its always the same. And thats exactly what I love about it -- its consistency to always be chill, homey and local!
Sharp Shooters is my kind of place...Laid back, affordable, and as friendly as it gets.
This place has been here for 20 years and thus, was a staple of my diet for entertainment while growing up in Kendall. Â They have a full bar, quite a few pool tables, and Ms. Pacman! The staff has always been awesome. Â It's never been more than 10 minutes from home, which makes stumbling back into bed quite a breeze.
Of course everyone loves this place for free beer Tuesdays and Wednesdays, who wouldn't?! It's a fantastic way to beat the midweek blues. Â It also makes losing at pool a lot less depressing when you're feeling the beer coursing through your veins. Yea, I suck at pool...so what?!
Came here to watch the Super Bowl last night and they had 50% off all drinks while the game was on, and a DELICIOUS (and yes, free) buffet to keep your tummy happy and your liver going.
Only thing is that it gets really smokey in here...but it seems a recurring theme in most of the bars I like to frequent. Â So I can't take any stars off for that.
Yeah there's free beer here. (FYI...Bud/Bud light) But this place is special... I dare say magical. It's the illusion of a pool hall that rolled around in an ashtray with the delight of amateur and professional pool players playing side by side. You have very loyal customers here... meaning that Shooters is home to many of us, folks. You will recognize them as the ones that have preferred seating at the bar stools or by the giant TV. The owner and staff are pretty fantastic people. As long as you brake away from the Windows and never sit on the pool tables, they'll serve you your drinks and eats with a grin. But honestly, I love this place... The people are always fun and Amberbock is always available and quite tasty. Oh yeah... And they have recently added a dart board a couple of video game machines and as always, the modern day jukebox... Go figure. Let the good times roll everyone. LoL.
Note to the reader: If you don't enjoy the smell of cigarettes, this is not your place. Once you open the door (bottom floor) and make your way up the stairs the first thing that slaps you in the face is the smell of smoke.
I consider Sharp Shooters to be one of Miami's gems as far as Billiard Clubs are concerned. Is it fancied up? No. Are the people rude and absolutely pompous? No. Is there a HUGE selection of food and drinks? Not really. But, this is why it's perfect. You can be comfortable here, not always looking over your shoulder. Just relax, have a drink, play some pool, or darts, etc.
Last week, I went to Shart Shooters for a special 'Barcraft' session, where a bunch of geeks get together to drink and watch Starcraft competitions. Shooters made sure to offer FREE wings for the ENTIRE night. As a beer-drinking, wing-loving geek- I could have wet myself. Also, I believe they offer FREE BEER on Wednesday and Tuesday. This is why I love Shooters. This place is here to stay.
After thinking for a minute, it's been around 17 years since I first played pool here.
This place has been a Kendall main stay for pool, and it still is. I had a chance to revisit a couple of months ago, and I can say that nothing has changed. For better or for worse, the lighting, tables, bar, everything has stayed frozen in time, and I like it.
The pool tables are good and there are still some straight cues you can find (just make sure to roll them on the table and look for a wobble). Since I've gotten older, the one thing that does bother me is the amount of smoke. I have to admit, I've grown fond of the no smoking bans most states have enacted, and since I don't smoke cigarettes any more, hanging out here will give you a second hand flash back. However, the drinks are still cheap (sometimes even free as Theo H. points out).
If you're looking for a night of playing pool without the jacked up prices, then you are in luck. This place brings it.
Nice pool hall in Kendall, they have around 15 tables I would say, a small bar and a jukebox. They have the free draft beer promotion on Tuesdays and Wednesdays where if you have a table everyone on it drinks free Bud or Bud Light. Its somewhere around 6.50 a person per table, so if you have 4 people on a table all 4 drink for free but you end up paying $26 as a group per hour. Its not that bad I guess. They have nachos and pizza at the bar but I didn't try them. The downfall of the jukebox is that if nobody is paying to play music the whole place is just silent. I would come back here I guess but nothing really stood out that much where I am in a hurry to do so.
Review Source:Free Beer!?!? Free Beer!?!? Two nights in a row!?!?
You read correctly folks, Shooters gives away free beer on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For my first trip to Kendall, I must have done something right to have stumbled upon a pool hall giving away free beer to anyone playing pool. Mind you, this place is not for the faint hearted as it attracts people of all sorts of backgrounds and interests. With about 10 tables and a bumping bar, I'll definitely be back...despite the 20 minute drive home.
