Great location out away from the fray of the Gettysburg crowd. Â We stopped for a great burger and cold beer conveniently located across the street from the "Day One" battlefield areas of Herr's and McPherson's Ridges at the start of our battlefield touring. Â The tavern is in the old barn of Herr's Tavern, a historical Civil War building - pretty cool!
Review Source:I saw a sign for the excellent beer selection so I went in. Â The place was only about 10% occupied during my visit and there were plenty of servers working, but the service was still horrible. Â It seemed like maybe they had just gotten over some mad rush or something. Â Anyway, it took forever to even get a glass of water; much longer for a beer. Â A skilled, conscientious server finally took care of me and the rest of my visit and the food was actually pretty good. Â I wish I had gotten the nice girl's name that finally made it all happen. Â She should get half the pay of the others. Â Anyway, food was probably a 4; beer selection was a 4+; atmosphere (except the noisy servers) was a 4; my overall service was a 1.
