Shepardo's Pizza & Pasta

One of Springfield's best pizzas.  Period.

I had the misfortune to dine--a word that's most charitable--at Shepardo's a couple of months ago with my girlfriend and her friends. The place seemed promising, with generally positive ratings on Urban Spoon. But I became a bit worried when I got there and saw only two others dining there during peak weekend dinner hours.

Oh boy. We ordered staple Italian stuff--I got the spaghetti, someone else ravioli, nothing too crazy. And we waited. And waited. And waited. Perhaps an hour had passed when some of the most pathetic-looking pasta and "garlic bread" came out. The pasta literally looked and tasted like stuff you'd buy pre-cooked from Wal-mart. The garlic bread was store-bought bread slathered in imitation butter.

Having dined there, the emptiness of the restaurant is now no mystery.
