The food and service was fine. Â We both ordered the specials. Hers was the shrimp and pasta. Â I wanted the ribeye, but $36-$37 was too much to take a chance on it having not eaten there before. Â So, I ordered the special beef (5 oz tenderloin), thinking it would be around $22 - $25. Â No salad, some stupid dry purple mashed potatoes, and asparagus (anything that makes your pee smell like that can't possibly be good for you). Â The meat was way too rare (ordered medium-rare) but it was good so I didn't complain. Â When the bill came, my meal was $49. Â Forty nine dollars for a 5 oz piece of tenderloin!!!. Â Are you fricking kidding me? Â I asked the waitress why she didn't state the price when I ordered it - she said they were told not to mention the price unless the customer asked. Â I paid $49 for a less-than $25 meal. Â If you go to the Silver Dollar, be sure to ask the price of the specials. Â Usually 'specials' are a little cheaper, but not there. Â By the way, we went there because the online menu said they had a halibut meal that sounded real good, Â Needless to say, that was "in some old menu that changed just yesterday!".
Review Source:Good bar food. Waaaaaayyyyyy way way too many loud big screen TV's that ruin the atmosphere (they'd get 4 or 5 stars if this was different). But often there is great live music although the acoustics aren't that good. Worth going to in order to see the fun bar with a ton of silver dollars in the top.
Review Source:ARROGANT AND SNOOTY!
I stopped in the bar and was told with kids, we could only eat in the grill. Â We went next door to the grill and put our name in. Â We were told it would be 45 minutes and WE COULD ORDER OFF OF THE BAR MENU by the man at the reservation desk, the manager. Â When we returned 45 minutes later, the man at the reservation desk advised me that we could no longer order off of the grill menu. Â I expressed my displeasure with waiting for 45 minutes with five young boys and three adults. Â I was told he understood my disappointment but the decision had been changed 10 minutes earlier. Â There was no apology and no acknowlegement of the problem of now finding a place to eat at 7:00 on July 4th night when the city was hopping. Â The reservation desk was arrogant, rude and was snooty. Â I have never been treated so poorly by a "quality" restaurant. Â It is sad that a beautiful, historical building has such a terrible tenant.
