No greeting upon entering while multiple guests were waiting.  Had to whistle loudly to get the staff's attention while staff was in a "meeting" (gossiping perhaps? ) in the kitchen.  Not a good way to start out.  We were ready to leave and go elsewhere.  Hope we can rate the beer and food better.  (By the way, this was 9:35pm on a Monday nite the first night of Arttown). Music just got out.  They should have expected the mass exodus from Wingfielld Park- this is  an event that has been happening in Wingfield Park and other areas for years...
Review Source:I have been a consistent customer for the past year making at least 1 weekly visit to Silver Peak for their happy hour beers and appetizers. Â The customer service has always been good and the brews and food has always been consistent. Â My last few visits to silver peak have been less than desirable due to the issue of dogs on the patio. Â I have had times when I bring my dog and no one bats and eye, then other times I am ran off before I even make it up the steps. Â I am told something different every time and don't at all appreciate the hassle I undergo consistently now. Â In my opinion there needs to be a clear cut rule: dogs or no dogs. Â I have been told that my service animal that sits under the table and sleeps is considered too large to be on the patio when I have witnessed a dog not much smaller than mine off leash begging from table to table. Â There have been times when it has taken me up to 15 minutes to be greeted and receive a menu because the employees are trying to figure out what to do about my dog, and being able to see them grouped together obviously discussing what to do makes me uncomfortable to say the least. Â I feel that their animal policy needs to be as consistent as the food and beverages. Â The "size" rule that has been explained to me is in my eyes silly and a bit on the discriminatory side. Â Why have a size rule when realistically it is an issue of behavior? Â I have always enjoyed the atmosphere that Silver Peak provides but because of this inconsistency, Â I will be frequenting more animal friendly downtown establishments.
Review Source:This is a great place to come, especially for happy hour. The happy hour prices are awesome (2.75 pints, $4 nachos, etc). The beer choices rotate and are always good. We came on a nice day and sat outside, always great to be able to people watch in Reno. This is becoming our go to happy hour place and would recommend the place to anyone looking for a good beer or good food downtown.
Review Source:Great food and a great location. Â The service has always been good and friendly as well. Â I love the location. Â It is a fun place to stop before having a fun time downtown or catching a movie. Â The parking garage is right above it so that makes it easy to access as well. Â I am not a beer drinker so I can't comment on the beers but all of the friends that I have gone with enjoy the beer there. Â The sandwiches are great too.
Review Source:I have to commend this place for how they treated is. From the hostess who worked hard to seat us to the wait staff thay was kind and extremly helpfull. We had kids and a large group on a saturday nigjt and we loved this place. And the food is as good as the service, thank you very much!!!!
Review Source:great solid meal. Â the waiters took a little long to get to us, but they were kind of busy so i'm assuming it was because of that and not just laziness. Â but the food was solid and tasty. Â Went before a wine walk and I was very plesantly full but not like omg i need to fall asleep full. Â so it was just perfect. Â great outdoor patio seating when the weather is nice.
Review Source:3.5 stars for me, alas I have to average down.
I LOVE Silver Peak foods - 4 Stars for the consistency of them. My favorites: Potstickers, lamb burger, southwest caesar with chicken or shrimp, chicken tacos, seared ahi, any pizza. And, of course the Peavine Porter (for you non-locals, it tastes much like Dechutes Black Butte Porter).
Service: 3 stars
Hostesses are great, wait staff are not so on-top-of-it. I've had one out of the last three servers really pay attention. I hate that because the food is so tasty. This is why I usually sit at the bar - not at one of the community tables next to the bar. The bar staff is on top of it. Thanks for that, y'all.
They serve typical American pub fare, like onion rings, burgers, and wings. The onion rings were particularly nicely fried. They have a beer sampler of 12. Both beer and food are pretty solid. The red and amber ales were some of the hoppier ones I've tasted. The porter was smooth. The place is spacious with lots of seating. Service is friendly. Happy hour is pretty good too. This place seems like a down to earth place that locals would go to, despite its proximity to all the casinos in Reno.
Review Source:Havent been here in ages, but since moving back to town I decided to give it a try for lunch. I ordered the Santa Fe chicken sandwich with fries.
Wow, was it bad. It came out looking like something left over in the back of someone's fridge and then thrown in the microwave for 30 seconds. The bun was soggy. The chicken (what little there was) was burned to a crisp and lukewarm. The cheese had just been slapped on and was also cold. So was the pasilla pepper on top. Nothing like biting into a sandwich or burger and being greeted by a cold, slimy texture that overwhelms all else.
Oh, and the fries? Room temperature, as if they had been prepared in a big batch earlier in the day and then thrown on the plate. And why did they taste like corn chips?!
This used to be a solid place for a decent brew and some slightly above-average pub food. Now, not so much.
I would have given this restaurant a 1, but I do believe in second chances. I have only been here once and plan on returning because I have heard many great things. The experience I had though was the worst I have ever had at any restaurant in my entire life.
1. Took 25 minutes until our server came to take our food order; still had not received our drinks.
2. Took another 10 minutes to receive our drinks. 35 minutes to get a drink.
3. Our food had been taking a while, so we were looking for our server to ask politely if it would be out soon, but he managed to completely avoid us.
3. After an hour of waiting, I had to get up and walk into the restaurant to ask if our food would be out soon.
4. After another 10 minutes, we received our very very cold food. My burger been sitting out so long that it was not even close to warm.
I have been around and worked in a restaurant my entire life and I understand that shit happens sometimes, but there is absolutely no excuse for the service I received. Overall every aspect was of my time here was poor at best.
After a movie, my friends and I came into Silver Peak to get some food. None of us were particularily hungry, so we tried different appetizers. I got the Shanghai style chicken wings, which were supposed to be tangy and sweet.
I got so many more wings that I anticipated! They were perfect. The wings were the perfect size, and the sauce was delicious. I couldn't stop eating them! In fact, I'm still thinking about them right now...mmmm.
If you ever need wings, this is the place to go!
I ate here on Friday night. Â It's definitely not a place to go for dinner alone as it attracts a big bar crowd and couples. Â The bar itself is really awkward if you're not playing the electronic gaming boards. Â Each bar stool has a seperate gaming board which makes it unusual to eat there.
The service was good and the bar was completely slammed. Â I had the pork chop for dinner which was very tasty. Â The beer was good.
I'd defiantly go back, but with other people!
Very disappointed in the customer service presented during my girl friends birthday party. Our server ignored us most of the night. The birthday girl never had her order taken until everyone else did and we had to ask him to put it in for her. Then we had to pay extra for parking because they only give a two hour parking pass and it was the waiters fault for not tending to our needs . I love their Sister Restaurant Silver Peak Brewery and Restaurant which I've been to many times, but this entire experience was horrible.
Review Source:I have reviewed this place before, but I wanted to give it an update since I have been here two or three times since my last review. We ordered the nachos, as usual, and they were still good. However, this time I will say it seems like there hasn't been as much cheese lately on them. I've ordered them a few times, so this isn't a one time deal. I'm seeing a pattern, I think. Would like to see MORE cheese on the nachos. The beans and guac were great. We got ours without chicken. They seem to be adding this green sauce now to their nachos, perhaps sour cream or the like? Ease off on that a little, and replace with cheese and you'll be doing good.
The service was good. That's something that I thought of prior to writing this review. "Hey, you know at Silver Peak, I know the hostess girls wear booty shorts and stuff, but one thing I can't argue with, the waiters and waitresses are attentive and pretty fast." They are nice too... I just don't get it. Like, if I was a waitress, I don't know...its not bikrum yoga here people or da club, its a restaurant!
The real reason I wanted to write about Silver Peak is their FUCKING AMAZING turkey sandwich! Holy hells bells! I really don't like turkey sandwiches that much, but this thing was fucking delicious! The bread, the red pepper sliced on there, the turkey, the avocado  and some sort of delicious mayo pesto sauce. Ahhh! It was GREAT! The fries were like shoestring ones, also.
Prices were very reasonable, I thought. $20 for two people and a tip? I can handle that.
It has been quite awhile since I have been to this Silver Peak, but I was pleasantly surprised. Â a group of 4 of us went for lunch after a movie. Â We were able to get a seat on the patio. Â Our waitress was very attentive, even coming back at one point to tell us our food was on its way. Â I had the turkey sandwich, which had great flavor. Â Overall, I would still avoid The Peak during late nights (just because it's not really my scene - and even less so as I realize I'm getting older!), but it's great for lunch and a week night dinner.
Review Source:I have been going to Silver Peak ever since it opened and it is my favorite hangout. Â The bartenders are great, the service is great, and the food and prices are excellent.
It's a great place to relax and enjoy the game on the big screens they offer. The selection of entrees are terrific. Plus during "Street Vibrations" you can set outside at one of there table's facing the street, have a cocktail of choice and watch the show of machines.
Honest food, service, and brews! Â
I loved this place. Â The menu was different enough, without being pretentious or over-the-top, and the server let me substitute, which is always a plus in my world. Â I had the sirloin steak with chimichurri, cooked perfectly and very flavorful, with garlic mash potatoes (a little dry, but tasty nonetheless), with roasted scallions and tomatoes, simple, yet deliciously balanced. Â My husband had a burger, with bacon and avocado, which he enjoyed. Â The beer was tasty as well, I had the apricot wheat, two glasses it was so good. Â
In nicer weather, I'll want to eat on the patio. Â This was a fun place to take our friends from out of town to.
Mr and I come here once a week and will continue to do so. Â The food is delicious, the beers are delicious, the staff is awesome, the location can't be beat and we've met a lot of really interesting good folks! Â Our only beef is that due to their particular cable provider, you can't get Giants games or Niner games. Â If it weren't for that we'd probably never leave!
Update: They've changed their cable provider and now get Giants games. Valhalla!!
They have the most gourmet grilled cheese in town. Â I order mine with no tomatoes - its five cheese grilled cheese made with various cheeses including smoked gouda and cream cheese, with thick avocado slices all on sourdough. Â Comes with their signature salad with the slightly sweet dried beet chips on top. Â And its not to expensive at all, about $7-$8 for a really delicious, not your run of the mill grilled cheese sandwich. Â I've had their beers as well and they are very flavorful. Â I like their IPA and their pumpkin beer. Â
Outdoor seating is great in the warmer months - once I even found a ran over flattened fork that someone had apparently chucked at cars driving by - which I think is awesome! Â A while back they also offered the outdoor seating in the winter with their patio heaters, which I wouldn't recommend trying for yourself. Â The heater works great, but it only heats one side of you. Â Not sure if they will still be offering the outdoor heater seating this winter, but they sure could use that extra room, cause this place is always packed. Â Â
Remember to get your parking ticket validated - a stamp from Silver Peak covers 2 hours of parking in the attached garage.
tacky, tacky, tacky, even with some average food, this place still manages to be low rent and tacky. Maybe it was the video gambling machines inbedded in the bar or the employees doing nothing and giving everyone the stinkeye while smoking outside.
We went here on a holiday monday at 10pm because there wasn't much open in Reno that wasn't in a bar or wasn't a greasy spoon. We need a place that would have some veggie or seafood choices for my wife and a place that had some decent food. Not such an easy thing to find in Reno on a holiday, a monday and at 10pm.
The food really isn't that bad and I would probably have given it three or four stars if we hadn't both gotten stomach aches and sick right after eating here. We both eat the spinach salad and my guess is someone didn't bother to wash it before using it or had dirty hands when making it.
I had the sirloin steak that was bit overcooked since I ordered it medium rare but it was tasty and was a larger serving. The roasted aspargus with it was overgrilled and the potatoes may have been fake but they tasted great.
The salmon fish and chips my spouse got were tasty enough to be all eaten quickly.
The service was pretty horrible. There were only two tables going when we got there but we still stood around for a while before a guy we never saw again told us to seat ourselves. Our server clearly did not want to be there and was pissed when we didn't order alcohol. She forgot to bring us our salad and it was served with our main dishes and she forgot to bring us utensils. There was never more than four tables occupied the entire time we were there and she spent most of the meal hanging out with the two kitchen staff guys at the bar.
Stopped here for lunch on a roasting hot summer Sunday afternoon. Â As in scorching, fry an egg on the sidewalk, Africa savannah hot kind of day. Â No way my friends and I were going to cool off enough even in the shade of outdoor seating, so we asked to be seated inside where there was a hint of air-conditioning.
We were seated waaaaaay in the back, in a secondary room that was devoid of any decoration except the giant glass windows where you could entertain yourself by watching people trying to come in through the locked doors (not knowing the main entrance was around the corner).
To the waiter: Â please don't roll your eyes at us when we only order 3 iced waters to drink, and not any alcohol. Â What our choice to imbibe is none of your damn business. Â The last thing I need is a Sunday afternoon hangover in this heat.
I ordered a Caesar salad with a salmon fillet, which, at $9.95 seemed like a great bargain. Â I specifically asked for it to be regular style, but instead was served it Southwest style. Â
To the waiter: Â Do not roll your eyes at me when you get an order wrong. Â You should be grateful I didn't make a big stink about YOUR mistake and ate the salad anyway, only because I needed to get out of there within an hour. Â An apology would have been nice.
If there's a town that says half way between Vegas and Portland, it's Reno. Â So where does one go when he steps into the Biggest Little City in the World's famed downtown?
Most of the options involve casino eateries or hole in the wall pizza joints, but a few blocks in the right direction will take you to Silver Peak Grill & Taproom. Â It was around 5pm on a Saturday night. Â Other restaurants in the area didn't seem to have a lot going on. Â Silver Peak on the other hand had a good sized crowd and good energy that's enough to get you to stop walking and go inside.
I opted for a seat on the patio which probably wasn't the best idea. Â The sun was out but there was a steady breeze which made things downright cold. Â But onto the food....
I know I wanted a beer but wasn't sure what to order. Â The server (I think his name was Sam) got me a Battle Born which I guess is a Nevada microbrew. Â I wish I could find it in stores because I would buy a case. Â My cheeseburger was cooked just right and they have a pretty good array of cheese options. Â I went for the smoked mozzarella. Â While I was waiting the server chatted me up. Â Turns out he's from Portland and went to the same high school as Joey Harrington. Â This made the pit stop all the more memorable.
I know an hour and a half in Reno isn't the greatest amount of time to gauge the culinary attractions, but this is definitely worth a visit if you're from the area or just passing through. Â You can park for free at the Cal-Neva parking garage just a couple blocks away.
I've been back to the SPG&T more times than I care to admit. Â The service has yet to disappoint me; ranging from good to great, depending on the server and how busy they are. Â Friday and Saturday nights are definitely a see and be seen affair, where the adventureous shed their boring shell of daily life and get out for some fun and possibly an unexpected rendevous with fate ...
I've delved further into the food menu during these visits. Â The Shanghai chicken wings suit me with their sweet & spicy sauce on a heaping pile of meaty non-breaded array of drummettes and wingettes. Â It comes with ranch dipping sauce as standard, but fellow blue cheeseaholics do not despair as they also have a nice chunky blue cheese dipping sauce for those bold enough to request it. Â The Basket of Fries for $3.00 is a great munchy item, cooked fresh and way more than one person can or should finish on their own. Â
The real winner on the dinner menu though is the Pork Tenderloin dinner entree:
Pork Tenderloin with an espresso chili rub& ancho chili sauce. Served with mashed potatoes& roasted asparagus $17.95
Sounds simple enough and has a great presentation (numerous glances from the other tables as people want to know what's "that" on the menu), which is part of it's charm. Â Though the most expensive item on the food menu, this is a great meal; one that I'd put against some of the best dishes offered in Reno. Â It sounds spicy, but isn't. Â Just great flavors!!!
Yeah, this place would be good if you didn't have tastebuds. Or a mouth. I'm sorry, that's not fair. Actually, the beer is muy tasterific!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Â!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And the nachos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Â!
It's been a long day at work and Hammy gets so lonely sometimes. The holidays, you know?
On an aside, doesn't Michael Bolton kind of seem like the guy that, if you guys were getting a casual drink together and shit, would order a double Long Island Iced Tea and then gulp that shit?
Where does the world end and you begin?????????????????????????????????????????????Â??????????????????
The only really courteous excuse for misbehavior is "I was drunk."
No one will forgive you for doing terrible things because you were drunk, But that's not the point. "I was drunk" is a polite way of saying,
"I shed my inhibitions and did exactly what I wanted to do,
and if you provoke me, I'll do it again".
This gives people fair warning and tells them tactfully to mind their own business.

Now that the B-Dub's Double IPA is back there will be a lot of this going on.
There was much song and rejoicing in the village !!
This has long been my favorite watering hole, first rate food and EXELLENT burgers, they cook them the way you want them.
Happy hour is great too, the best Nacho's I have found in town. And during happy hour only $4.00 !! (M-F 4-6) not a mini version that some places try to sneak by during happy hour.
By the time I finish a whole plate of Nacho's my arteries are humming like bridge cables.
After my antics yesterday, I am going back today if for no other reason than to get some of this blood out of my alcohol system.
I love silver peak in the summer with its great outdoor seating, the winter with its tasty chicken tacos, late night with the best nachos, and lunch with my grandfather.
This place makes me smile and I love it when they let me sneak my dog under my table outside.
I would recommend the Chicken Tacos, Nachos, or Fish n Chips.
If you are watching your figure...the salads are stellar.
They are mainstreaming the menu at this place, more and more, which sometimes is not so bad. Â For example, instead of this sweet, Asian-inspired wings they used to sport, it is now your basic, typical fried "Buffalo" style. Â Am I complaining, not really, cuz even though I liked the other version, I'm a friggin' sucka, for a good buffalo wing, and this wasn't bad.
Also they rock a pretty decent T-bone steak for about 17 bucks, if you wanna venture out of the casino dining world. Â It came with grilled asparagus (YUM!) and cold, limp shoestring fries (NOT so yum). Â I'm not quite sure how you can manage to make super-thin fries not crisp, but they did it. Â No big though, savory steak and some grilled veggies is all good for me.
And their Red Ale is STILL some good sh*t, the kind where I compare all red ales to. Â And to be able to use it to wash down that grubbin' steak and buffalo wing appetizer, Bomb, simply the Bomb.
I will keep this simple because this place is simply great.
The wait staff is great, the management is great, the food is great, the beer is pretty good (I brew my own so I am pretty picky) and the atmosphere is great. Â Whether you are sitting outside or inside all the seats give you a good view for either visiting with friends or just people watching.
I have had a lot of their meals but usually prefer to order a couple of aps since they are always so interesting. Â They change their menu constantly so don't get your heart set on something you had before...but rest assure that whatever new item you get will be great.
First off, there was a minor problem because I seated myself at an outdoor table instead of waiting to be seated. This could be avoided with simple signs: "Please Wait to be Seated."
I stopped by here after a movie while I was killing time waiting for my car to get repaired. I ordered a bowl of wild mushroom soup and a beer, a red ale I believe. The beer was okay. Better than Budweiser but nothing fantastic. The soup was terrible. It didn't really have any flavor and was overwhelmed by the grated dry cheese they put in it. And the aftertaste was a like mild vomit. I couldn't eat it. The waiter was nice enough to offer to let me try their other soup, but I'm not a big leek fan. I got charged for the bowl.
I'd like it if someone else tried a cup of the wild mushroom soup some time to see if they get that vomit aftertaste with it.
The beer is glorious, as one reviewer said. Â I tried the sampler once of all the house brew, and I'd highly recommend doing so if you are indecisive as I am or can just settle for one. Â They give you close to a dozen different kinds (2~3 oz. ea.), so share with your friends unless you plan on keeping it as your drink for the night. Â If you want to order a full pint later, you'll be too full.
The pork tenderloin is simply delectable! They used to have fruit and cheese plate that was great appetizer paired with beer and wine, but they went away. Â That was a sad day. Â The nachos are great - big enough to share with friends. Â I haven't had anything that was subpar or disappointing yet.
This is one of the best brewery / bar in town, and with the prime location, it is always busy on weekends. If you want chill atmosphere and the best service, try to avoid Fri. and Sat., but I don't mind the crowd too much. Â It just goes to prove their quality.
GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO THE CASINOS!!
After a horrible experience at the Brew Brothers at El Dorado, I'm very happy that the Front Desk Manager at Harrahs pointed this place out to me! Â
First off, I love the location. Â It's amazing what a difference a block will make. Â On Virginia Street, you have to trip over bums and weird guys shouting at the top of their lungs some unintelligeable comment. Â Go one block west to Sierra Street and a totally different story!! Â I saw younger people, professionals, and people just out on the town. Â Not one vagrant to be found. Â The Silver Peak Tap Room has a great urban atmosphere minus all the negatives. Â
The beer was something else! Â Their selection was incredible! Â I ordered a sampler and they brought about 12 different types of beers to my table! Â All of them were great!! Â The food was pretty good, big portions, and the price was very reasonable as well. Â
The thing that made the difference for me however was the great service! Â The waitress was very attentive, friendly, but not too nosy or pushy. Â There was a very relaxed environment inside, everyone was friendly, and overall I had a great time. Â
Brew Brothers loss was Silver Peaks gain! Â I definitely recommend anyone who finds themselves in Reno and doesn't want to trip over vagrants or swim through a cloud of smoke, to give Silver Peaks a shot!!!
