Slammers is a good sized pool hall/bar & grill located off the Route 114 "Bypass" in Bedford. This casual bar has minimal lighting, 6 pool tables, 3 fooseball tables, dart board at one end and a stage for live entertainment at the other end of the place. There are plenty of TVs around the bar area with seating and table seating throughout. There are video games in the corner including 2 Golden Tee machines and bar table games and a CD jukebox.

The food menu offers the typical pub fare including appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, subs, pizza, steak/chicken/seafood entrees, pasta, salads, soups, and posted daily specials. The prices here are affordable with most items priced well under $10. A BLT with fries & pickle is $4.25. Late night menu consisting of cold sandwiches with chips, chips & salsa, & espinaca are served 10PM-12AM.

Specials are offered such as free game of pool with lunch (Mon-Fri 11AM-2PM), free coffee with breakfast (Sat-Sun 7AM-11AM), and Happy Hour (Mon-Fri 3PM-6PM). Karaoke on Tuesday nights and Live Entertainment on Friday & Saturday nights. No cover charge!

On my last lunch visit at the bar, I started out with a Diet Coke ($1.50) cup of Fish Chowder ($2.95), which was homemade, very thick & rich with lots of heavy cream, lots of potatoes & some haddock (did find one small bone). The Garden Salad ($2.00 with my meal) was okay, chopped lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, & dressing on the side. The good portion of Spaghetti & Sausage ($5.65) had a rich tomato sauce with sausage topping bits (used for pizza), a salty taste, served over soft spaghetti (a bit overcooked). The garlic bread was very buttery. The food overall was decent.

The service was decent at the bar, I got my food in a staged order and refill on Diet Coke. The bartender was also waiting on a large family a table nearby too. Slammers is not just any pool hall, it's a family restaurant. So, why go downtown with the masses and hunt for parking, when you can go to Slammers which offers plenty of free parking, pool, live entertainment, affordable drinks and food and it's near the highway. Motorcycles are welcome here, but no colors allowed.
