This diner is nothing special. I guess you can't complain tooo much because it is in Spencerport. It seems more expensive for diner food but I always have leftovers if I order something for lunch or dinner. The best thing about it is that it is very consistent, and your food is always the same each time, the wait staff is always the same...the old people that go there every morning are the same ordering the same thing haha.
Typical diner menu and food. The French fries that are served with sandwiches are really good. I normally stop in on a Friday to get a fish fry.
It closes pretty early.
This place is good for breakfast, I really did enjoy their French toast and I didn't have a problem with the service, its just that there was never someone at the register so that kind of confused me. I wouldn't go back for lunch or dinner, my meat was slightly undercooked so I'll pass on that, but for a breakfast or brunch, this is a good place to check out if you're in the mood.
Review Source:I've had breakfast here a couple times, solid service and food on both visits. My first meal was, at it usually is, Eggs Benedict ($8-ish). Decent, nothing phenomenal, but if I was craving it this place wouldn't disappoint. In other words, while I won't crave Slayton Place Eggs Benedict, should I be in the mood for the dish, I wouldn't shy away from ordering it here. My most recent breakfast was the classic pancakes, eggs, and sausage ($6-ish). I opted for the sausage links in leu of patties, they were very thick with classic flavor. The eggs (over easy) were prepared exactly as ordered. The pancakes were not too thick and just the right balance of fluffy to moist. When covered in syrup, they soaked it up without being soggy.
The service was very friendly, the servers seem to help out each other's tables. It was a Sunday morning and rather busy, we didn't have to wait for a table but there weren't many empty ones left. The dining room is clean but I wouldn't eat off the floor... It's a well trafficked place. Maybe I'd be more critical if I was expecting a fancy brunch, but this is a diner. Order a diner breakfast and you won't be disappointed.
Not too many surprises here. Typical 1950s diner food with a predictable menu: burgers, salads, sandwiches, soups, etc.
Food was just okay (large portions though...reminds me of that great line in Woody Allen's, Annie Hall.) Service was not attentive or particularly friendly. On the way out we tried to pay our bill and could not find anyone at the front register or even on the restaurant floor.
