Boom Boom sauce! Their shrimp and wings in boom boom sauce is AMAZING! I don't know whats in that sauce or how they make it.. maybe mix it with crack.. not sure but I know that I crave it! This place is close by so we usually stop in almost every friday for a few drinks and shrimp or wings. I enjoy the servers (we usually try to get the same ones that know us). If you order the specials that night its pretty reasonable priced. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is they don't show the boxing fights. To me.. for a great sports bar that is a must! But Sneakers has adapted to the customers that go and I enjoy that as well.
Review Source:This is by the far the worst place I have ever decided to have lunch.
The server and Bartender were nice, but the manager is another story.
My sister and I ordered Mac n Cheese and Artichoke dip. The mac n cheese tasted like water as did the dip. They were bowls of soup. After we politely told the waitress we didn't like the mac n cheese and if it  could be taken off our bill, the manger says "what that's the best thing on our F**king menu" no joke. Then he had the waitress tell us he will not be removing it from our bill, and that we can take it home to someone who will it eat?  I work at a restaurant and I would never tell a customer that, how unprofessional on top of the swearing. We asked to speak to him but he was to busy playing Foosball and had the waitress again come out to tell us he took it off the bill but wasn't happy about it. The whole situation is comical and and i'm surprised this place is in business still with a cowardly manager and poor work ethic. Our waitress was really understanding and nice other than that, I won't be visiting here again ever.
WINGS ARE THE BOMB THAT IS ALL!! lol  Naw but seriously this place has some pretty good food and the night I came they were only 50 cents and they are pretty huge, they had some beer specials as well, but I am not much a of a beer drinker so it doesn't really cater to my needs.
As a bar??? it might have been slow that night it was however only a  Tuesday night lol it was pretty slow for the time in my opinion.  Maybe they need to spruce up the music cuz when I was sitting there I felt like somebody broke my heart and I was drinking my sorrows away to old country love songs. Don't get me wrong had that been the case I'd love it lol..
Overall I come here every now and again and it's a pretty cool lounge-y spot when it's busy.
Ok maybe I'm biased, but we come here ALL Â the time for a happy hour with work friends and we always have a blast! It is never busy when we go, so we are always rollin in with a group of people and our loud, laughing and complaining about work. Their specials are amazing... We usually go on a Thursday when it's $4 smirnoffs and like 5 other amazing deals that I don't remember right now, because I am a vodka drinker.
The best part about this place though is our server Gina. She is always our server and knows all of us, remembers what we like to order every time we come in and is extremely personable and generous! That is what I call good service!
I have been going here for years. I like the pool tables and outdoor deck. BUT I have more negatives than possitives. Here they are.... service sucks, the bartenders are shot and draft beer bar maids. Waitresses are much more interested in "hooking up" than serving guests. Â Upon entering you have no clue where to sit or to wait to be seated. The seating is casual.. but you wouldn't know it. You search out a table in in the dark and wait to be acknowledged. The waiting is a given no matter the day or time. All the time there's this greasy looking dude in this crows nest centered in the room. If he's the manager he needs to be fired. He does like the girl staff. Grosssss The place is getting dirtier and less appealing. Time to go anywhere else.
Review Source:This place has good food, but the service leaves a bit to be desired. If you call to place a delivery order, it seems like a bother to them. But I've got to say, the delivery people have always been on time and very nice. And picking up an order is no picnic either. They looked at me like they didn't know what to do. Not great customer service skills.
Review Source:Above average bar food if you are in need of something to hit the spot. Â Just make sure you get it hot if you order in. Â The delivery driver is always nice when they drop off the food, but when you call, it's as if you are bothering them. Â
We've ordered from them quite a bit, so their food isn't bad and it's delivered pretty quick, but on more than one occasion it's been more warm than hot. Â Nachos are good.
The bar is huge, but I have never seen it packed. Â Most of the clientele is fun to watch when they come filtering in around 9:30. Â
Average place. Good for a beer and some food. Â I wouldn't go out of my way though.
I decided to give this place a try after seeing a special on Groupon. When you first walk in you will notice somewhat of a foul odor in the air. I almost left out but decided maybe it was just me. It was lunch time during the week & this place was practically empty. I was approached by the waitress with a why are you here stare. It was very weird.
I was told I could sit where I want then asked was I using a Groupon. Huh?? She went on to tell me I must use the spend the entire value for it to be used. Ummm, I know I hadn't asked but ok. I decided on the skirt steak sandwich with fries but had to substitute onion rings for an additional $2 to meet my Groupon rule. She took the menu then asked if I wanted to pay now. Pay before my meal comes out?? Let's rewind back for a second. It all hit me, when I walked in the waitress looked at me like I was the 1st black woman to ever enter this place. Now I'm asked to pay 1st?? I'm not making this up, it happened. Felt a little racism in the air. When I looked at her crazy & told her no she tried to clean it up. Said something about her manager was upstairs & needed to pull the Groupon coupon off my phone. Right now? I'll pay after I eat like everyone else.
Food arrives after about 25 minutes. Don't come here if you are coming during your lunch unless you have over an hour to dine. As I ate in my airport uniform polo, a group of well dressed men of another race sat at a table close by. My waitress immediately perked up & was super bubbly. I was one table away & not once hear her ask if they were using Groupon.
Back to the food, the steak was not seasoned & tough. The onions & tomatoes were chopped huge. I had to cut them into suitable size. The kicker, my $2 extra upgraded onion ringers were really good. The catch, you only get 6 rings!!! Yes, I counted. Now my Yelp profile pic shows my legs, I'm not a big girl at all. I actually felt cheated & that's not normal. I rushed through my meal because the sandwich was substandard.
When it was time to pay the waitress asked to take my phone to her manager for my Groupon discount. I told her I'd prefer he come to the table & use my phone. I don't trust strangers with my phone at all. He came over shortly with a stiff hello. Not how was the food just hand me your phone attitude. Poor attitude & I see why this place scores low. I had to write in detail because I hope Sneakers reads this. I work at O'Hare airport with a lot of people & a Yelp account, word of mouth will either keep you open or shut you down. Before you judge a book by its cover, know that I live in Oakbrook & use to more upscale sports bars. Management & staff need to come out to a real sports bar & see how a place should be run. Millers Ale House would be a good start.
A group of co-workers & I went to this bar to give a fellow co-worker a going away party. We were having a great night & 4 of us decided to go play a game of pool. Unbeknownst to us we had accidentally stolen this guy's pool table. He had apparently left quarters on the table claiming it was his. Now to clarify that last statement he left the quarters sitting on the silver metal corner, where they definitely are not noticeable if you have been drinking, instead of in the designated quarter spot. He comes back & sits with his friend while we were playing & starts talking crap to his friend loud enough so we can hear him. To cut to the chase we ignore him, finish our game, and move over to the next table because we wanted to avoid any problems. We start a new game & then that guy & his buddy start to play on their table. The whole time he's talking shit about the guys I'm playing with (I'm the only female playing pool) and saying their "pussys and they shouldn't let a c**t like me beat them" and all this other crap. Obviously that pisses all 4 of us playing pool off. I looked at him and said "listen dude, no need to be an ass. we didn't mean to take your table just drop it already". Things progressed to him getting in my face & then the faces of the guys I was with. Then security comes over and instead of fixing the situation, he gets in the face of the guy trying to protect me from the jerk who said he was going to punch me & says "get the f*** out before I call the cops". He proceeds to kick myself & my co-workers out & then stands on the patio with the other 2 jerks who, according to the manager, are "just customers" and waves at us as we all are in the parking lot. The manager insisted theses two jerks weren't his friends & they weren't getting preferential treatment, but that didn't seem to be the case.
Review Source:This place is absolutely horrible. The service sucks. The Patrons suck  They couldn't even get the fried cheese right! . And it smells like cheap hooker perfume straight out of a grubby strip club. I wouldn't go back here if it was all free. To make it worse, my wife was with me and she hated it too! Unless you are looking for a beginning to your night at the Roxbury, stay away!
Review Source:This place is so full of greasebags its comical. I know the harlem ave area is know for a lot of dbags, but I was unaware (until a visit here) where they all hung out. Look nor further, every tool with an IROC and a girlfriend named Nikki or Tina hangs out here working on flexing his beer muscles, disdain for decency, and love of Jerey shore.
Go ahead and skip this place.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but Sneaker's is really staring to grow on me! Some of my former coworkers who work up the street invited me to meet up for a bite and a drink or two the other night and, lucky for me, there was no traffic going west on the 290 (I was coming from Cicero). We always seem to snag the "big table" not too far from the pool tables. The music playing was great -all the latest pop / top 40 hits. They served Victoria beer -which was actually pretty good. It's new to the States and I was surprised they had it there. I ordered a taco / quesadilla appetizer thing and had a few beers and had a blast catching up with my former coworkers. We were practically the only ones in the place (it was a Monday). I have to say, if you want a low key get together, you really can't beat the unpretentious nature of the place. Yay, I'm a fan (again!)
Review Source:Not terrible, but not great either. Fairly typical sports bar: small bar area, tables for dining, young waitresses, and flatscreens throughout. There is a patio area that's open in the spring/summer which can fit a pretty large amount of people. The restroom was filthy the passed two times I've stopped in, which is sure to steer a few people away. As much as you would expect for a local sports bar, there are no real drink specials. Last time we went I believe a pitcher of beer was $10.00; where you could get a pitcher for less than $7.00 at many other bars. The food is better than most local sports bars, but aside from the slightly more appetizing food, the bar resembles your typical sports bar.
Review Source:The nachos are awesome. I get delivery from there once or twice a month. We always get the nachos, quesadillas and the wings. All of them very very good. Going there really isn't all that fun nor exciting. The drinks are cheaper at a lot of other places in the area. The bartenders like to drag as well. If you're going to watch a Bears game show up early because it gets real crowded and even though Sneakers is big it fills up fast. The stars are for the food, not for the actual place!
Review Source:The food at Sneakers is actually pretty decent, but I wouldn't say that it is so great that I would consider going back to this bar on any sort of regular basis. Â The staff is mostly helpful and attentive and the drink and food prices are reasonable.
The few times that I have gone I have always gone in a group and we've always had a good time but we've always encountered a few d-bags that usually help to ruin the experience for everyone and stop us from going back on a more regular basis.
This place may have good food, but the staff and owner (or so he said he was on the phone) were rude and unprofessional. When making a delivery order the first guy I spoke to sounded as if I had woken him from a nap.
The next person I spoke to next, or should I say bothered, took my address and started to take my order. I was then informed that the menu I was looking at online "probably was old". After navigating through that painful process I sat back and waited for my food.
A few minutes later the phone rang - it was the girl from Sneakers telling me that they didn't deliver to my area. She thought I was in Schiller Park. Except that she asked me if I was in Schiller Park when I was placing the order  and I told I was not - I was in Chicago. I started laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation and said something to the effect "alright - whatever" and was promptly hung up on.
No apology, just tons and tons of attitude. So I called back. A gentleman (the supposed owner) answered, I told him that the online info about them has the wrong menu and the wrong service area. he said that he didn't know why that was and fell silent.
Well, I understand to a point. It wasn't their website with the info. But what I was aggravated about was that after I gave the staffer my phone (a 773 area code) and my address (which I clearly stated was in Chicago) she continued to waste my time and take my order. And instead of calling back and apologizing I was spoken to as if it was my fault and I was lucky they called me back to tell me.
I got the same attitude from the owner so told him his staff was rude and to have a good day. I hate to waste more of my time dealing with this crappy business, but I wanted to warn those who are considering Sneakers to not bother - unless you like to deal with snotty people with no customer service skills.
They have good food. Trust me. I ask you to trust me because it is unbearably boring almost every night of the week. If you don't mind sitting back, watching tv, drinking with some good food, then this place is right up your alley.
However, if you come here expecting ANYTHING, then maybe it's you that is a suburban yuppie or wanna-be city trash.
Not my choice of places to frequent. Â But my husbands friend swears they have good food, so we went last night after some drinking at a friends house and everyone seemed to be hungry.
So, we walk in and get carded, sit down ... the waitress takes our orders and we wait for our food.
We didn't order drinks.. so I don't know how the prices are for that
My two girlfriends and I went to the restroom which was small and scummy and came out and went to sit at our table, the "bouncer" comes up to us and says that he needs to see ID from the two girls that just "walked in" ... walked in , from where?? the freakin' bathroom... ?Pay attention next time ,stupid. . Â We told him we were here the whole time and he walked away. Â I find it funny that he did that when I know for a fact they have at least 2 under age girls working there if not more. Â
The food was okay. we got an appetizer of cheese "squares", wings, potato skins and some crappy taco's.. everything was good except for the taco's that no one wanted to eat and the potato skins were dry. Â We also got the artichoke and spinach dip which was good.
My husband and his friend both ordered burgers and mentioned they were a little dry, but the fries were very good.
We ate, paid our check and played a round of pool.
Not a happening place. Â
It was mostly guys sitting around watching the game and a couple of girls running around from table to table. The people were mostly casually dressed, in jeans and tops, except for one girl that was dressed in high heel boots and a sweater dress .. way overdressed for this sports bar.
The food was okay.. but not something that you couldn't get at any other place. Â
And because of the smoking ban .. no more smokey bar
Bottom line, won't be returning here.
IK! Smoky and dark and just  a dive and not in a good way! If they have a Smokeeter,it's not working. I had to shower when I got home. The food was not great and gave me a stomach ache.Typical bar type food. the pasta was okay the first time i went, had a few apps the next(and last) time we were there. Not recommended.
