So the beer was great...
I didn't notice the setting, I just came to watch a game and my team won. I was overjoyed and don't remember much else after that. For the most part, every experience we have, regardless of location, can be pleasant when other factors give us the joy to think well of the location.
In any case, I did enjoy the burger I had after a few beers :)
CLOSED- Went there on 09/15. Siding is up on the East entrance of the mall. Checked phone listed-no answer. Also verified through mall website that location is out of business. http://www.westfield.com…
Review Source:I just wanted to update my review to remove misunderstanding. Â THE BURGER AND FRIES HERE ARE OUTSTANDING. THE STEAK AND PHILY CHEESESTEAK ARE GOOD. Â STAY AWAY FROM THE CHICKEN WINGS AND FISH AND CHIPS. Â REALLY. Â NO KIDDING. Â
I have read several reviews posted after mine where it is obvious that people are still trying the fish and the chicken wings. Â The reviews are so conclusive that these are bad, that all it is doing is resulting avoidable negative experiences evidenced by the one star reviews. Â
I don't go to Langer's to eat chinese. Â I don't go to Pinks for fried chicken.
Don't go to Sports Connection and order Fish or Chicken Wings! Â The money and time you save will be your own. Â
But, if you would like a good burger....go on in!
Had to revise my review. Had a very bad experience the day before they went out of business apparently. Â They refused to make breakfast at 11:50 when I had called in advance and was told they were serving breakfast till 2p. The reason? The cook was being picky and didn't want to make breafast anymore.
Review Source:Went here on Monday and they refused to honor a http://restaurant.com certificate (purchased 4 months ago) saying they no longer participate in that program. Well, enjoy the 1 star review. Your establishment already has a trash rating and now it's getting worse.
I'll have a good laugh the day I'm at Gyu Kaku next door, and watch you closing down shop for good. As it is, business looks dismal for you.
I gotta start off by saying that this place has a serious identity crisis going on. It used to be a mexican restaurant and they've kept most of if not all the decor including the statue out front (WTH?) and just put up a bunch of TVs. Mounting TVs on the wall and having girls serve in Foot Locker type referee uniforms doesn't make a place a sports bar. I could be wrong, but I'm not sure they have a full liquor license as I've only seen beer and wine. No pool, no darts...so un-barlike.
Food-wise, the burger and fries are great. I've also had the grilled chicken sandwich and some sort of chicken wrap with peanut sauce. While those were alright, the burger is the best thing there, hands down. Service is great and the staff is attentive. They make you feel like you're the only customer in there, probably because...well, you are. I don't think I've ever seen more than 3 tables occupied here in the four or five times I've been here for lunch. I'll be coming back for the burgers.
Super disappointing. Â Considering we had a coupon from http://Restaurant.com, the price was barely reasonable but the food was not worth it. Â I don't see how they justify their menu at full price.
This is the first time that I'm writing a review based on food quality alone.
We started with an appetizer of chicken tenders. Â What we got were wafer thin pieces of breaded chicken that were almost chicken jerky. Â The total amount of chicken was close to 1/2 a chicken breast.... for $8.25. Â The presentation was on chunks of browning iceberg lettuce.
I personally ordered the fish and chips. Â The pieces of fish were over cooked, and seemed to be right out of a box that was purchased at the local grocery store. Â Not an exaggeration. Â Two triangular chunks, tempura battered, and two squares, covered in breadcrumbs. Â Again, served on iceberg. Â It came with a bland coleslaw that I nibbled.
I could have made this meal with a 20 minute trip to Vons, some hot canola oil, and condiment packets saved from McDonalds.
The only thing I actually enjoyed were the steak fries, because, seriously... unless you burn the crap out of them, you can't really screw up fries.
Unfortunately, it seems that their operating budget focuses on appearance and booze, and not food quality or a chef. Â If I wanted to drink, sure I guess it'd be fine. Â I'm no restauranteur (and I'm not sure the current owner is either), but if it were my place, I'd open for happy hour at 4pm and skip the lunch crowd all together.
Super disappointing.
The only redeeming quality of this place was that the service was pretty good. Quick refills, attentive and attractive waitresses.
We started with an order of the hot wings. Sauce was good, but like other reviewers, we had a lot of wings with broken bones in them. It became frustrating to eat our food. When was the last time you got frustrated eating your food!?? Exactly!
I ordered the fish and chips and had to send it back. They weren't cooked all the way! They were soggy and soft, not crunchy at all. When I took my first bite, i prayed that I wouldn't get sick that night (thankfully I did not). Also, for $12.50 for the plate I was expecting a lot more. Only got three pieces of fish that were fairly small and seemed like it was store brought. I'm not expecting that every restaurant hand batter and filet the fish personally, but i was expecting a lot more for what I paid.
Won't be coming back. Hopefully the NFL and NBA lockouts end soon so this place will still get some business.
Alright so I got a 25 dollar thing at http://restaurant.com and decided tonight was the night to use it.
The place looks like it should be a semi nice sit down Italian place. Lots of wine everywhere and only 3 beers on tap. But then you hear the loud pumping club music and see the flashing lights and you know that something has gone completely wrong.
There's TVs all over playing sports (no dodger game for whatever reason), theres a bar, they serve food, and the waitresses all wear foot locker uniforms. I suppose those things can classify it as sports bar and grill. In the real world though, this is a restaurant that is having an identity crisis.
The food was decent enough and priced fairly well. So there's that. We got a burger, a wrap, and a pizza. All were good. Chips and salsa to start cost like 4 bucks and was pretty meh.
It's not terrible but it's really awkward. The ambiance is just completely screwed up and they have so many fucking typos in your menu that if you're the kind of person that can't deal with that then you should stay the hell away.
The happy hour during weekdays looks decent enough. 11-4 for 2 for 1 drinks and then 4-7 for cheaper drinks and apps.
The thing that moved this review up from a 1.5 to a solid 3 was that our cute waitress had ginormous boobs. They made the trip worthwhile.
Ok - my bad........only two reviews on this place - but - thought we should check it out anyway ($25 http://restaurant.com coupon)! SPORTS BAR, ok should have good appetizers, right? Chicken wings... 10 for $7.50, hot, crispy, 3 very good sauces for dipping - one problem....... They were the size of cornish game hen wings - tiny!!! 3 of the 10 had split bones and were truly hard to pick around - a HUGE disappointment 1.5 stars. My friend ordered the rib-eye philly cheese steak - a very good sandwich, I ordered the Chicken Pesto (great pesto) the chicken was very thin, but tender - lot's of rabbit food (lettuce, tomato, etc.) The sandwiches get 3+ stars. We got chips and salsa (with guacamole for $1.50 extra).......... Good, spicy salsa, and the guacamole was fresh, and a bargain for the extra $1.50 - 3 stars. 3 beers on tap (Coors light, Stella, and Newcastle) 2 stars (C'mon you're a "Sports Bar"). This is a wine and beer license only sports bar - can't even get a real Margarita here. The service gets a 4 star rating - very personable, attentive, helpful. (we left a tip on top of the "automatic tip" with the coupon. Sooooooooo overall 2 stars (reality 2.50) If you like Stella, or Newcastle and want a good sandwich, ok - you want chicken wings - NO!
Review Source:Okay, let's face it- nobody comes to a sports bar for the food- however... when you do not yet have your license to serve alcohol... the food suddenly becomes important.
The staff here rock.
When I want to watch the game I want a dark and dirty man-cave atmosphere... with beer.
I respect that they saved major dollar by using existing furniture, decor etc from the place before em. Great idea... but DIM the lights already.
Turn the T.V's to an angle so you don't get stragglers from the mall crowd walking half into the place and blocking your view.
... and by golly if you can't serve alcohol... upgrade the menu!
The food was unimaginative, bland and basic. Everything is frozen, boxed bottled... not much prep or thought goes into it.
Dessert was perhaps the saddest affair. BE WARNED the Brownie Obsession ... it's an old tasting BLONDE brownie and cheap vanilla ice cream... a rip off at $6.50.
I'm rootin' for ya Sports Connection- but nobody eats for 90+minutes... so when I finish my meal before half time ... it's a little awkward without that pitcher of beer to sit and finish the game.
I'll be back when there's beer to see if this place picks up...
