The food at Sprecher's is surprisingly good for a pub in a city full of tourists. I already love Sprecher's because they make the best Ginger ale EVER but now I love the restaurant too. We came with a group of seven and everyone enjoyed what they ordered, which is pretty rare.
Be sure to order the pretzels, they are AMAZING. Best pretzel I've ever had! The cheese curds are also very good because they're beer battered. And if you like Dr. Pepper, definitely order the Puma Cola.
I had the cheese curd burger (highly recommended) and the boyfriend ordered ribs which were surprisingly tasty. We also sampled the schnitzel, tilapia sandwich, and curry shrimp. Everything was good. This is definitely added to my list of places to stop at when in the Dells.
The food was average. Â At least the one item I had, can't speak for the rest of the menu. Â What made me want to write this review is the cleanliness of the restaurant. Â We went right when it opened, we actually waited outside for a minute before it opened. Â The window on the door had finger prints all over it, you'd think this would have been cleaned the previous night at closing, or when the workers came in the morning to prep. Â The booth we sat in had a sticky substance on the back of one of the chairs, another thing I'd assume they would make sure to clean up. Â One of the cloth napkins at are table had some red sauce crusted on it. Â And the place was so dusty I couldn't help but sneeze.
So yeah, when I see how they take care of the front end of the place it just makes me wonder how high their standards are in the kitchen. Â A major turn off.
Phenomenal service! Our server, Kyle, did a great job! Food was fantastic, and our three kids ate all of their food! BONUS!
If you have the chance, try the 3 piece sorbet! So delicious and cheap. Only $3! They also offer Sundae's for the kids for an additional $1.99 with a kids meal. Not a bad price, since everything in Wisconsin Dells is usually over priced.
Hubby tried a scotch piper beer, or something of that sort- he loved it, along with the jambalaya. Food was great, and my biggest pet peeve- SERVICE which was PHENOMENAL! We'll definitely be going here again before we head home!
My large group came in there last night after a long day at the waterpark and we were starving. We had 4 little ones and 6 teenagers and adults. Â The food was good but our waiter was fantastic. I wish I remembered his name but he was blonde and had a lovely accent. Anyway our little ones were tired and grumpy and he had the patience of a saint. Our food came out in great time and our drinks were never empty. I just wanted to give a shoutout to this young man because being a server myself I know how it feels to have a 10 top walk in so late. He did a great job.
Review Source:We have been fans of Sprecher brewery for years and were excited to try the restaurant. Â Having read some of the previous reviews, we stuck with the burger and fry direction and were not disappointed, the burgers were very good, in particular the Curd Burger, very tasty. Â And of course the beer and root beer are awesome.
Review Source:I'd been to the Lake Geneva Sprecher's and it was a nice experience. I expected this one to be similar. It wasn't. First of all, we were told there'd be a 45 minute wait, which was fine (it was 7 on Saturday night). The problem was that there were a ton of open tables--I counted 9 at one point--that weren't being filled. Clearly there's a staffing issue if the kitchen or the servers can't handle a busy Saturday in a tourist area. Come on. We ended up eating at the bar (where there were three open tables we weren't allowed to sit at). When we gave the buzzer back to the hostess, she sighed, rolled her eyes, and said, "Ugh, fine." The bartender was nice and accommodated a special request on my wrap, but the wrap was missing half the things the menu said it would have. Plus, everything but the limp fries was lukewarm at best. Save yourself the time and if you're going to wait for something, make it Monk's.
Review Source:A new favorite!
We stopped in tonight and had a great meal. So many wins. The highlights include:
Root beer, of course
$5 kids meals
$8 Tuesday beer and a burger special
Fish and chips
Excellent service
Everything we had was delicious and our server was that perfect balance of attentive but not overbearing. Plus, I ordered a slice of carrot cake with a candle for my stepdaughters birthday and they didn't charge us.
It's nice to get away from the overpriced, horrible food in the Dells. Â I'd recommend this place anytime!
Came early on a Tuesday night, Burger and Beer for $8... ANY of them. This was a great value. Â Felt the Burger was better than any in the area. At home for burgers we like Red Robin, and these were better. We felt the side items were excellent as well. The rest of the menu choices looked very nice. Next time we're in the area we will definitely be back to try more!
Review Source:Service good and beer was good but man, two thin slices of corned beef on marbled rye for 12.99? Only a value if you're from weight watchers on a diet! My wife got a turkey avocado sandwich and it was nothing more than turkey cold cuts on bread, not a real restaurant class meal! The cheese curd appetizer was a joke too especially for $9.00. Just come here for drinks, homemade sodas and brews are great but don't waste your hard earned dough here unless you like getting White Hen Pantry grade sandwiches plated by a restaurant ! Welcome to the Dells and getting ripped off! LOL
Review Source:We came in here after a long day at the waterpark very tired, hungry, and ready for bed. I'm not going to lie I can't really remember what I ate. But I felt the need to write a review because what I do remember was the excellent service. My baby is allergic to gluten and eggs and is obviously very limited to what he can eat. We went to this restaurant because it was across the street from the hotel. I normally look through menus before choosing where to eat to make sure my little guy can eat with us.
The waitress was patient with our grumpy table (we didn't give her a hard time) and managed to figure out a healthy, tasty and safe meal for our child. Like I said I don't remember what I ate, but I sure as heck know that my little guy enjoyed his gluten free pasta with marinera sauce, and steamed veggies. :)
This place was actually pretty good. Â Would I come here a lot if it were in my hometown of Plano, TX? Maybe. Â For the Dells, though, it was fantastic. Â
First off, we have some REALLY picky eaters in our group. Â One is gluten free and one won't eat chicken, most vegetables, pork, and a whole host of other things. Â We all found something we like. Â Plus, who doesn't like really amazing root beer? Â Plus x2, they have low cal root beer!
Also, they have healthy options so it's not all wisconsin-fried-beer-cheese food if you're trying to avoid gaining 10 lbs in a weekend. Â
I had the quinoa spinach wrap and also tried the bbq chicken pizza. the pizza was less healthy than i would have liked, but decent tasting. Â the wrap was good.
Service was great. Â
Again, if you're in the dells, this is pretty darn safe.
This place really is fantastic. I've been here twice and would continue to go again and again. I love when restaurants have options of healthy and not-so-healthy food. I also love when they have some vegetarian options other than a cheese quesadilla and some iceberg chicken salad that you order without the chicken. The craft sodas are also quite amazing, if you're not a beer drinker. The prices aren't too bad either. I highly recommend this place for families or groups with certain dietary restrictions. The service also matched the food, superb! If I make it up to Wisconsin Dells again, we will definitely be back.
Review Source:Apparently the brewery is a big deal in Milwaukee. Every time I go to Milwaukee, it's all about business, so I don't have time for a tour.
We had a group of 15 coworkers who went to Sprecher's for dinner. The servers were friendly and attentive. Word around the table was that the drinks were tasty. Our meals varied, too. The far side of the table had steaks to satisfy any carnivore. My side of the table had salads and lighter food.
I highly recommend the BBQ Salmon Salad. The dressing was light and full of citrus flavor. I love Jicama, and there was plenty. But the best part of my meal was the beer cheese soup. You could really taste the ale. But why would I be surprise? I am in Wisconsin after all.
They give you a nice beer list, except they only have about half of them available (my first few choices were not). Ended up getting a beer flight, which ended up being 3 glasses of what were about 6oz for around 5 bucks, which was reasonably priced.
Food was average. The pretzel appetizer was really good, but the entrees were nothing special. Good service.
I mean its a burger joint, I didn't walk in there expecting a lot. My main goal was to leave full and I did it. The beer sampler is fun, $10 for 6 different tastings...Yes please. There's nothing spectacular or exciting about the place. The food wasn't terrible, it wasn't incredible. The one piece of advice I will leave you with, is to stay away from the  "cheesy" mashed potato side. There was no cheese in them at all...so disappointing when you're expecting it.
Review Source:The beer and specialty soda on tap where a hit with every one in our party. Â I could not resist a root beer float (its been a long time). Â We started with the Hot soft Pretzels ($8.00) and move on to a whole varity of dishes I found the asparagus flatbread to be tasty, the portabella wrap was not as good. Â Over all a good meal for a little higher price, I can see myself back here if i make it out this way.
Review Source:We visited this joint last June. Â We had a large party and they gave us a private room which was unexpected. Â Most of the family had the fish and chips which was the special and came broiled or fried, everyone enjoyed it. Â I had the salad and it was fresh and delicious. Â The beer selection is really good. Â The kids menu is acceptable and they also have seasonal items. Â The staff went above and beyond for our group, even included a free dessert sampler for our two birthday girls. Â It is a fantastic place to try when your in the area.
Review Source:A Sprecher restaurant!? Â I had no idea. Â Odd - that being from Milwaukee, and having gone on the brewery tour, I had no idea they had restaurants! Â
After a long day in the sun, beer and food were in order - and Sprecher's did not disappoint.
The pretzel app - a must. Â Soft, fresh and salty - paired with honey mustard, beer cheese and stone ground mustard you can't go wrong.
They have an extensive amount of beer available - but not all of their beers are available. Â Also - they do have their soda on tap - but I believe only a few are available. Â The others are in bottles.
I ordered the blackened tilapia sandwich. I was impressed. Â I have to be honest in saying that I was expecting quality close to that of an Applebees or TGI-Fridays. Â But boy was I wrong. Â The food was fresh, the ingredients well thought out, and the service was fast. Â
Sprecher restaurant = WIN! Â Next time I'm in the Dells - I'll be sure to stop again.
My time at sprecher's was great. After another awful meal in the dells the night before, we saw this driving back to our hotel and noticed it was the same name that produced the best sodas. The next night we came here and at first, i loved the atmosphere, warm and hearty. For the appetizers, we ordered the fried cheese curds and they were great, along with a lo-cal root beer, where you couldn't tell the difference. For my meal i ordered the drunken chicken, (half-chicken, marinated in beer and char-grilled and served with veggies and mashed potatoes. This was sooo good. light and tender chicken, the marinade went perfect with it. Next time i am in the dells, i will definitely be back.
Review Source:Went in on a tuesday night after swimming it up all day. Â Needless to say we were starving. Â Seated right away, but a bit of a wait for our waitress. Â She made up for it later. Â You have to get the root beer, it would be a sin not too!! Â My daughter got the grape soda, also delicious. Â Ordered the hot pretzel app and it came out steamy hot! Â Soooo good!!! Â It came with 3 different dipping sauces but the star sauce was the root beer mustard, what a surprise!
I got a steal sirloin sandwich that was so tender and juicy, my mouth waters just remembering it. Â Fyi, they make their own chips, yum!!
I think this was the best meal I had at the dells, do go!!
DISCLAIMER: Â This is what happens when you write a review while PMSing...
Seriously, how hard is it to cook a steak "MEDIUM"??? How does every single chef/cook NOT know this? Â It should be food prep 101. Â The chef/cook here at this location obviously does not know the correct way to cook a steak - trust me. Â
We ate here recently while on vacation. Â Our server was very friendly and polite. Â My steak sandwich - which I ordered to be cooked "medium" was barely even pink on the middle...it's hard to say it was even "medium well". Â My hubby's sandwich which he ordered "medium rare" was more like "medium". Â
From now on, I'm going to play it safe and only order steak or a steak sandwich at an actual "steak house" because it seems these chains just can't get it right. Â Â And when they eff it up, I'm going to speak up and politely tell the server when it's overcooked. Â Pisses me off!!
I went here with my boyfriend on a Saturday night and got seated immediately. We had the spinach artichoke dip for an app which was the best I've ever had. We then ordered side salads with dinner but found them to be on thesmall side wen compared to the price. My boyfriend got the California burger and I got the fettuccine alfredo with chicken. The pasta was surprisingly good as i learned the sauce is made in house. Creme brulee was cold but so delicious I just devoured it anyways. Overall, great food, loved the atmosphere and will return!!
Review Source:My wife and I went here when I was in the Dells on a business trip. Â We were there on a Thursday night before the busy summer season and we were seated right away. Â The food was great! Â I had a bacon, egg and cheese burger with beer cheese mashed potatoes. Â We also had the Spinach artichoke dip and I think it was the best I have ever had. Â The waitress was very well informed of the menu and food and was very personable. Â I also loved the old fashioned cream soda. Â We will be coming back to Sprechers when we come on vacation this summer.
Review Source:Why are we waiting when I can see ten open tables? Â
I know they were busy, probably under staffed for the night. Â Several large groups in different areas. Â The staff was nice but said nothing more than that it would be 10 min or so before we got seated. Â
When we were finally seated the service was ok. Â The beer was what was expected. Â Quality Sprecher beer. Â The beer menu was different than the large wall menu that had the current offerings, so be sure to cross reference. Â Standard bar food/ family restaurant with a German tilt. Â We stuck to the usual. Â
Burger, chicken tenders, and salad. Â All three were good. Â Not a knockout by any stretch but a good Dells option. Â The beer was great.
When a well-known company puts it's name on a restaurant, I expect good things, high standards. Well this wasn't to be at Sprecher's in the Dells.
The restaurant was mostly empty, maybe four or so tables.
The host quickly seated our group of four. The server arrived and gave us menus, and split with no orders for drinks. We had to catch her on her way past us to order drinks. It was a foretelling of how service was going to be for the evening, mostly us catching her attention when she was gabbing with other servers or just MIA.
Food was only fair-to-middlin'. My friend's and my pulled pork sandwiches were OK for taste but a bit thin on meat. My wife had the open-faced pot roast sandwich and the bottom bread was thicker than the meat. The meat tasted like it was trying to be upscale with a wine sauce of some sort, but it was thin on taste as well. (Culver's pot roast sandwich sets the bar high.) Another in our group had soup/salad that was OK but nothing special. When she asked for crackers, our server said, "I'll see if we have any left." After maybe 5-7 minutes and no server, we flagged down the manager just as the server happened to be walking by, and she brought back maybe 6 or 8 packs.
Sprecher sodas were $2.50 and $1 a refill (!). After a single soda we all switched to water.
So just a blah dinner, punctuated by poor service.
Being a fan of Sprecher's beer (one of the first successful microbreweries in the USA) I was happy to see this brand new pub and restaurant in the Wisconsin Dells. Since it was close to our hotel we went to give it a shot. We found the website, and saw that they had specials listed (Tuesday burgers) and went over. Sadly, we were informed that the Wisconsin Dells location did not participate in the meal specials. It appears that these are only valid in Madison.
The beer list offers many of the Sprecher classics and a few more I have never tried before which was excellent. None, however, appeared to be brewed on site which would have been pretty cool. It appears that this is a licensed business and might not be run by Sprecher's.Anyhow, the place was big, and the server went out of his way to help us with a group of kids and adults. They have a kids menu which is nice since my sister had the kids along - they also serve kiddie root beer as well.
The burgers and sandwiches are the way to go here. Two from my party had chicken and fish and we saw many of the beef burgers coming past our table and these looked great and were served on amazing buns. I ordered from the small traditional German menu and since I love German food I tried the schnitzel plate. Â My schnitzel looked good, but was not well tenderized and so tasted pretty tough. The breading was good. The potatoes that came with it were terrible. I wish I had just ordered the burger special or no special. They need to add those special touches to the menu and make the German food a lot better considering the German tradition in Milwaukee and Wisconsin! From start to finish our servers were great!
We ordered a molten brownie to share and this was amazing. Since we had a pile of kids they went to town. Total damage for 3 adults and 3 kids: Under $80 with tip.
The space is pretty cool. The beer is good. The location is good. The prices were about what I would expect for a place like this in Milwaukee or Chicago, so I did not feel I was getting ripped off or in a tourist trap.
I love Sprecher and remember when it was one of the few micro-brews out there. Since then other micro-brewers have taken over most of the market and Sprecher is a small regional player. The restaurant and pub idea is a great one. If they work out the kinks this could be a good franchise. Good luck Sprecher's!
