Star Karaoke

Family Karaoke across the street was close, so we checked this out instead.

Their song selections are okay, i wish it's more updated, but the rooms and sound quality are good. It's actually pretty nice inside, despite the outside appearances. I would still prefer Family Karaoke, maybe they can remodel the place a bit. But in the Harry Hines area, these two places are your only choices. I haven't tried any drinks or food here yet, so can't comment on those.

As far as karaoke goes, this place is on par with any other place you go to.

For all the other amenities, such as food, drinks, etc they overcharge the living daylights out of you. I was invited to go Friday night by some friends of mine, and the other people in my group who wanted a whiskey and coke were charged $8 a shot AND charged separately for their cokes.

Personally, I like Family Karaoke (it's just down the street) a lot better but if you're in a pinch Star will satiate your singing desires.

So gross in the rooms.  MEAN people.  High prices are ok but ... attempting to rip off your customers ... is not ....
