Strack and Van Til

Let me start off by saying I quit going to your stores because of the customer service. Most if not all of your employees were/are just rude. Especially the 169th store in Hammond. But, yesterday I went into your East Chicago store with my sister and Brother in law, we walked in got right to the produce section. We had an ad for the next day 11-15-12. Looking at the potatoes, there were no signs posted but in the paper it said they were 99 Cents a bag. No limit, my sister proceded to get 4 bags, we asked the produce section gentleman Tony Sbaitis, who proceded to explain things to us. He was Very helpful and friendly. He then proceded to ask us if there was anything else we needed. And if we needed anything else help or such finding things in the whole store, get hold of him & he will help us out. WOW what a 360 degree turn around for your customer service, He was and is an absolute gem. In the meat department, sorry to say I didnt get his name, a black gentleman who was taller, came out and asked the customers around the meat section if anyone needed anything,Was I in shock already from TOny being nice and helpful, then that. I will say I live in hammond, but I will be visiting your EC store just because of those 2 employers... Keep it up, and a old customer will be new again. This was on 11-14-12 around 530-600 at nite.

I use to shop for groceries here. It is my one item stop shop if need be. Its a nice location but I think they need to have a variety of a better selection of things to buy. They don't sell organic items. Which I like to buy some of. Where is the flower shop? Baked good section is OK.

Staff is OK. Great location.

Nice alternative to Jewell and Dominicks, good clean stores.
