This place is a bakery and cafe. Â Have not tried any baked goods yet, but they all look great......
Now to the reason for my review. Â The "tortas." Â I had not had one before until a friend brought us some for lunch. Â It is a mexican sandwich, on a fresh baked roll, which is toasted so perfectly, with a slight crunch, and nice chewiness on the inside. Also has your choice of meat, lettuce, tomato, mayo, sour cream, and jalapeno.
Each time we have  had the "carnitas" on the torta, which is a shredded pork, which tastes fantastic.  Must be marinated, because it is moist and tender and has a great flavor.  My wife and I are hooked on these. Â
We deciced to find some tortas in Raleigh, and tried the ones at Chubby's Tacos, and they paled in comparison to the ones we get a Sugar and Spice.
This is a hidden little gem in Oxford. Â It is right next to Mazatlan. Â Not sure if they are associated somehow. Â Nice to have a new place to eat lunch at when I Â work in Oxford.
