Here is another family style restaurant in the southlands of Chicago bordering into Northwest Indiana. Â They have a wide range of food to choose from and prices are very reasonable (I paid under $10 for an omelette and coffee plus my choice of french toast, pancakes, or toast). Â Definitely something for everyone and the service is nice and fast (it was busy when I was there around 12:30pm and yet I had my food within 10 minutes of ordering). Â
For those not familiar with the area, there is only on-street parking around the restaurant.
This is a family style diner that's open from 6am til 9pm. Â They have breakfast items all hours, and that's what I tend to stick with when here. Â They have a large menu and offer other typical dishes like skillets, philly cheese steak sandwiches, burgers, pork chops, pastas, etc. Â You can get an meat omelette (I had turkey) with hash browns and 2 slices of french toast for $5.49. Â Great value and nice place to have around in the area.
Review Source:what a great local dining response to two driving back from camping weekend in Michigan. Â The strip's got tons of chain fast food spots, but here you have a nice private family alternative. Â It reminded me of the good Howard Johnsons I used to go to with my mom on the way home after an orchestra concert when she'd get me a hot chocolate. Â Yes the 'homemade' items seemed a little not...a bit processed. Â But a good spot, friendly, sweet, old school and perfectly adequate. Â GOOD hot chocolate w/whipped cream. Â Recommend if passing by and want a nice alternative to the chain or yuppie attempts along the street and don't want to spend too much.
