The former poster must have been here on a really bad day, or else the restaurant has gotten a lot better between November and Februrary. We went on a Sunday night and were afraid if it had been slow the food wouldn't be fresh. However the buffet food was fresh and none of the pans were empty. I liked the spicy ma la chicken, and the black pepper chicken with shrimp was good too. The broccoli in the beef with broccoli was fresh and a little crunchy.
The sushi selection was good, with at least six or seven varieties. Three had raw salmon. One was a tempura roll that had been deep fried in a crunchy batter before it was sliced. It was all cold and decently fresh-looking. I also appreciated that they gave you the little square bowls to mix your soy sauce and wasabi in, which you usually don't see on buffets.
The dessert bar had 8 varieties of hard ice cream that the staff would dip up for you, as well as all the usual chinese buffet desserts. There were fresh grapes, oranges cut in half, and melon, and pineapple in water or light syrup.
The hibachi could have had a bigger vegetable selection, but the little ribeye steaks they offered were nice.
I liked it and won't hesitate to go back.

My family and I were shopping in the area, so we decided to try this place out.  It advertises itself as a Chinese buffet with a hibachi grill and sushi, which sounded great since I was starving.  As soon as I caught a glimpse of the sushi buffet I should have trusted my instincts and just walked out.  All of the sushi was cooked and had cream cheese on it - not my idea of sushi.  So I took a gander at the buffet and nothing looked even the slightest bit appealing (and this is coming from someone who hadn't eaten all day) so I decided to go with the hibachi.  I filled my plate with noodles, zucchini, mushrooms, cabbage, and shrimp.  The hibachi dude was pleasant and cooked my food my food with a spicy sauce and it tasted fine.  My husband ate from the sushi buffet and the Chinese buffet and commented several times how tasteless it was.   We don't eat out that often and the fact that we were eating such terrible food made me feel the need to apologize at least 5 times during the meal, since I was the one who suggested that we eat there.
I was even disappointed in the dessert buffet,  I was hoping for some fresh fruit to serve my 9 month old son, and the only fruit that wasn't swimming in syrup were grapes and oranges, and the oranges looked shriveled and gross.
At the end of the meal I cracked open my fortune cookie and read it aloud: "You are heading in the right direction..." to which my husband replies, "yeah towards the door!"  And that pretty much describes our experience at Sushiyaki.
When I eat at an all-you-can-eat buffet, I want to leave stuffed to the gills and satisfied, but I left wanting to go home for a snack.

The only reason I am giving this place 2 starts instead of 1 is because the staff was friendly.
