There's a reason why this restaurant was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place thanks to an overnight trip to Indianapolis and the Food Network App. We were skeptical as we drove down what seemed to be an endless road into nowhere but we finally reached civilization in the form of a little strip mall. Of all the places to find an authentic Latin American, the middle of nowhere Indiana would not have been my first guess.
We ordered two tamales each and I must say this was one of the most delicious things I have ever bit into. Soft Tacos and Burritos should bow before the tamale because it was royally incredible.
Every single bite I was more surprised how delicious it was and continued to be right down to the mess before me.
The other weekend my boyfriend woke up and asked if I wanted to go there for Sunday lunch. Though we didn't go (that time) we were both willing to drive 2 hours and 122 miles from Cincinnati for lunch.
Now THAT is good food.
Simply Amazing! Â Grew up thinking tamales in general were bland and disgusting, i researched places to eat for a trip to Indy and everywhere i turned it had the tamale place listed and being a big DDD fan i had to give it a try. Â SO Glad i stopped and found how amazing a tamle can taste along with some of the best chips and salsa i think i have ever had. Â A must stop anytime you are near INDY. Â only negative might be the limited seating but to stand and wait for a spot to open up is well worth it. Â Can not say enough about this place.
