I have read a few reviews which said that the owners of Tano's were the same family that used to own Manzo's. I went to Manzo's for years and years and really missed it when it closed.

However, tonight I got delivery from Tano's for the first time. The Chicken Parmesan was excellent! Tasted exactly as I remembered it from Manzo's. The Marinara sauce truly delicious. And the homemade Creamy Garlic Dressing was excellent as well.

I am so happy I do not have to live without my favorite comfort food any longer.

The only negative of the meal was the garlic bread which was way too chewy and hard.

But, I DEFINATELY will be back!!

I used to order from manzo's for many years and after reading the reviews that the pizza is the same decided to give it a try. ( Even though I was skeptical after reading quite a few bad reviews). I ordered thin crust with sausage, mushroom and green peppers. Delicious!!!! Just like manzo's. Delivery was fast. Give the pizza a try!

Good, cheap slice down the street. Ours was hot and crunchy with tons of delicious veggies. I feel bad that others had worse experiences.

If I could do a zero, I would.  My husband and I were extremely weary from a long day of travel with two kids.  Looked forward to not having any work to do for dinner.  I paid $8.50 for a box of wilted/watery/mushy lettuce.  The salad was completely inedible. Even the dressing was bad.  My husband, against his better judgment, ordered a steak sandwich "deluxe" instead of going down the street for a burrito.  The fries were not cooked all the way, the steak sandwich was leathery and gross.  If you are looking to flush $25 down the toilet, go here!

Completely messed up our order, finally got correct order 2 hrs later.  Food subpar, pizza soggy and bland.  Talked with Tom, the manager, and asked why it took 2.5 hours to get our correct order and offered no apology or explanation.  Avoiding this place.  Also, google searched reveals they failed health inspection in May 2012

I've dined in and had great service, great food, and at great prices! I have also ordered carryout pizza, and it was equally as delicious. If I didn't live on the Southside, I would eat here all the time.

1/6/13 Update: I ordered fried chicken, baked penne, italian beef, and vesuvio potatoes for a party. All my guests were asking where the food was from because it was so delicious. Plus it was delivered exactly on time, which was important for the party. Thanks!

Not worth the wait. Walked in for a slice. At first I should have known that the cold pizza they have on the counter must have been there all day. At least it tasted like that. after they had to warm it up in the back kitchen. The first bite I knew never to come back. Tasteless, lifeless, doughy (for a thin slice) I knew I should have walked to the Walgreens picked up a frozen it would have tasted better. The place looked super new but if the slice I had tasted good I would not have minded waiting for them to heat up the slice. By the way why do they have cold pizza just sitting on the counter waiting to be eaten?

I"m happy to see we have a very decent pizza place back in the neighborhood. Since I live alone its not always economical for me to buy a whole pizza but Tano's offers cheap slices for 3 bucks. The slices are a very decent size and the pizza tastes great. I have only had the pepperoni and sausage pizza but I plan to try out their other pizza creations. The restaurant is small but they have enough room for several parties and there are TVs and such to keep you entertained. I will definitely come again to try out their other slices.

Generally, I don't go out for pizza - but I really like Tano's both as a restaurant and as an addition to the neighborhood. The owner is the son of the family that owned Manzo's, so his blood is actually tomato sauce. The pizza is good, the service is friendly and - it must be said - the restaurant is a big upgrade to the space that used to be occupied by Cousins, which in its later years seemed to be the home of a raw food cult.

I also want to mention that the owner and his staff are super nice people, and have made active attempts to be good neighbors and get involved in the neighborhood. We definitely need more local businesses like this - I'm going to go as often as I can.

This place is a great addition to the neighborhood.  Yes, I know it is affiliated with the old Manzos, but I actually think the pizza is better.  This has quickly turned into our go to place when we need a quick meal.  Don't be afraid to get you pizza a little on the spicy side, they have no problem turning the heat up.  The only thing I would suggest, double check your order before you walk out, there have been a couple little slip ups.

I've been away too long from my fair Chicago.  But now I'M BACK!  duh duh duhnnnnn!

And, having drooled many anight awaiting a delicious Manzo's nosh of sausage, mushroom, onion stuffed za, well, I had to have it once back in the A.P, hood.

    No!  Not Manzo's?!!! CLOSED.

    How shittey.

Read all the Tanos reviews -- said it was the same -- just as good -- etc. etc.

    And I fell for it.

I even asked when I called in my order and was told it was the exact same recipe.

    Not.  Nope.  No Way.

The pizza that arrived did not have the wonderful Manzo's sauce and the crust was doughy and not crispy on the bottom.  It was a mass of chew dough.

I wanted to do Judo on that Chewdo I was so derned angered!

To be fair.  Although it is NOT MANZOS it is a bit better than "meh."

Good to see some good pizza back in the neighborhood.  I was completely over the set up at the former Manzo's location and think this store front pizza by the slice option works much better for them and the neighborhood.  The new Tano's is much brighter and seems very clean...even the restrooms are nice.   We ate in with our 1 yr old ...the staff was very nice.  That said, I think we will be utilizing their pizza by the slice and take out more than eating in but that is just personal preference.  If I was single living in a condo nearby I'd prob live off their pizza by the slice.  Also the cheese sticks are fantastic!

Yeah, no.  Another GrubHub adventure.  While the pizza arrived on time and hot, we didn't like it at all.

We ordered a pan pizza with pepperoni; we got a box of dough.  I had requested in the notes section on GrubHub for double pepperoni since there wasn't that option but didn't receive it.  No big deal and just as well -- the pepperoni wasn't cooked and it wasn't very good.  Crust was super doughy, and just too much dough.  There was practically no sauce at all.  Like pretty much none.  I liked the oregano dashed on top but it wasn't enough to save the pizza.

Sorry folks, nothing special here.  I really don't understand all the great reviews.  We had hopes, but they were dashed.

Went in tonight, ordered 3 pizzas for delivery a few blocks away..Girl at counter was very nice and friendly, place is very clean and in my hood, an extra bonus..Delivery was an hour but I figured it would be at the max....Delivery guy phoned to say he was outside, so went down and got pizzas off him, odd that he didn't want to ring buzzer but not the end of the world, if you are eating pizza, going down 2 flights of stairs is needed!...they forgot my free dessert after spending $60..again, not the end of the world, not needed. Great crust.

I'm writing this review while my pizza, which was delivered five minutes ago, is in my personal oven. The pizza was supposed to be delivered around 7:45, but was delivered at 8:30. The delivery man said the price was higher than it was when the order was placed. The pizza was lukewarm at best. Maybe I'll give them a shot again, but I definitely won't trust delivery.

I had a menu previously from this pizzeria, but didn't remember my experience. I figured it had to be good if I kept the menu. The place is actually not too far from my apartment. They estimated that it would take an hour to arrive, fair enough. 15 minutes after the estimated time, I gave them a call. They said they were backed up and that it was on its way. Another hour later they finally arrived saying the order was more money than my grub hub receipt said. The pizza was cold. They apologized for it being "a little late".  I don't think I'll be ordering from here again.

Was a fan of Manzo's and am a fan of the new place as well. All of the varieties of pizzas I have gotten there have been excellent. Also had the fettucini alfredo, which was also excellent. Always welcome another food option in the hood and this one is a winner. Nice people, good service and great food. What's not to love?

Apparently the same owners as Manzo's which was just west of Kedzie. The pizza is just as good as this old neighborhood classic: solid, well seasoned, ingredient rich, pizza. They also sell by the slice. Their pizza was fresh, homemade, wonderful whiff of oregano and fennel, great crust, lots of cheese, great sausage, hearty, and picture perfect. The sauce was sparse, more tomato-ey than sweet.

They have a full menu of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, panini, pasta, dinners (chicken, sausage, rib eye, tilapia, egg plant). The decor is fun and causal, bright, 2 tvs, and counter service.

I phoned ahead and picked up pizza twice during the day and it was ready in 20 minutes. I'm anxious to try their other items. So far so good!

They are located in the space Cousin's occupied the past few years on the north side of the street.

Great Food! Awesome Pizza!  House-Made Tiramisu... What more can I say?!  So happy to have "Manzo's" back up & running in a fresh, modern, revamped new location!

It's great to see the Manzo's family back on Irving, even if its bright, modern update is complete 180 from the dark, old-man bar I loved in its former location. Not a lot of bells and whistles here -- just solid Italian comfort food, sandwiches, salads and their cult-favorite pizzas. The pizza buffet might be gone, but the still sell by the slice and are open til midnights on the weekends for late-night binges. Sold.
