Great authentic Mexican food with prompt courteous service. Â We were only one of 4 tables seated the night we went, and only one of 2 tables that didn't speak Spanish as our native tongue.......and it's the first "Mexican" restaurant that I've been to that served Mexicans or Mexican Americans! Â I'll be back.
Review Source:El Maguey has become my go-to Mexican restaurant. What really keeps me coming back is the delicious carnitas - tender and delicious. I prefer to get it in taco form. It's really the best I've had. I also like to get the lunch special #5 (available all day) which has two tacos and a "small" burrito. You can get tacos "mexican style" with onion, cilantro and a lime, or "supreme" with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. I prefer mexican style. The supreme is good too, but the generous amount of toppings can overwhelm the taste of the meat. I tend to get grilled chicken in my burritos, which are served with a mild verde sauce and queso.
There are more than just tacos and burritos. they have a large menu with lots of good stuff. They also have horchata and flavored waters (like pineapple and mango) to drink.
oh yeah - fresh chips!
All good stuff. This place is definitely worth a try.
