This place is a tiny little shack where 3 not so happy looking men run their business. One man frying the chips, one handing out samples and selling, and the other just observing. I give it 4 stars because It's not very inviting!! But OMG...their chips are extremely delicious!! I bought 2 bags of the Taro Ko and 1 bag of the sweet potato, all for $15!! A little pricey but worth it!! I ate the bag of Taro Ko all to myself!! The chips are thin, crispy and flavored with garlic salt!! YUMMY Oh how I Â wished they sold it in Cali.
Review Source:Taro chips done old school in a rundown shack with a giant frying vat.
At $5 a bag, a little on the steep side, but they're crispy delicious.
One little warning though: if you haven't had li hing mui, don't waste $5 on experimenting with it here. It's certainly an acquired taste, and the acquisition ain't easy.
I am still laughing about our experience here...we walked in to two really miserable looking people. When i asked about what the flavouring was, i was told what was available (taro, sweet potato) and basically ignored. Then when i asked for the blue potato bag, i was told to take the sweet potato. Taro chip Nazi!!!
But look, i would totally be grumpy pants if i had to work in a hot small room making batch after batch of high end chips for useless tourists...so all is forgiven taro chip nazi. Also, i freakin LOVE your chips. The garlic seasoning...brilliant. can't believe i only bought one bag.
