Love this place. Good buffet, but just like all Indian buffets, not quite spivey enough. For dinner I love the masala, saag paneer and lamb curry. Even better as left overs. Also, I love to support locally owned small businesses.

We took the family to the lunch buffet. The kids enjoyed the food. That alone makes A Taste of India a good choice.

I ordered out from this restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious.  We got the saag paneer and another veggie dish, along with samosas,  and naan.  Everything was extremely fresh and seemed authentic.  they were very polite on the phone when I ordered, I think the owner's wife answered.  The food was, in my opinion, better than little india which surprised me because of the reviews (which you can't always trust!).  Overall, I will definitely go back!

    I ordered delivery.

Mango Lassi = Amazing, silky & fruity

Saag Paneer = thick, fresh and flavorful.

Samosas = hearty, nice flavor and texture

Fast delivery, enjoyable food, good value. I will order again.

I checked out this place out with some friends who have been a few times.  I'm usually not a huge fan of buffets, but decided to check out their lunch buffet anyway, why not.  I was impressed.  They had several choices, many vegetarian/vegan options.  Rice, lentil dish, veggie dish, palak paneer (sp?), samosas... yum.  I was full faster than I thought.  Reasonably priced, decent service.  Looked weird inside since it did look like an old pizza hut, but the tables/chairs were really nice.  I'd go back.

I was apprehensive about eating hear after reading some of the reviews, but our household (me, hubby, and roommate) decided to try it anyhow because it was so close to home.

    I laughed because:
    1. I think it is an old Pizza Hut
    2. The TV was on with the news playing, like others have said
    3. Yes, the owner was a bit gruff...but definitely not RUDE!

So this place is not without its charm! However, the food trumps all else. I ordered the vegetarian combo plate and it was absolutely delicious, and for $16, well worth the price for such a large amount of food!

The Mango Lassi was amazing too! The chai tea was not all that great.

Bottom line, the service is OK, nothing great, but they are not slow and are not rude. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is quiet and inviting.

    A hidden gem!
We have been going to Taste of India for over 5 years.  I've read the earlier reviews about the owners and know that their "gruffness" is just an initial, superficial presentation.  With my family, and especially my 2 kids, they are extremely friendly and always greet us warmly.   They know my kids' names, what we like to order etc.  They even give them lollipops afterwards.  The buffet is consistently good - with our favorites such as saag paneer, chicken tikka maasala and samosa.  We also have eaten their dinners and yes, it can be made more spicy.  Personally, we like the mildness at lunch because some of us are wimps when it comes to spice.  They also have a buffet dinner on Tuesday nights which is very reasonably priced and good.
We have eaten Indian food all over Denver and the country - this restaurant matches up to many of the best, and is especially good given the location.

I've been here a few times and have never been impressed. The service isn't great, but not the worst I've experienced. I've gotten the vindaloo and karahi with meat. They used way too much spice and it tasted as though they tossed a bit of everything in there to the point I couldn't tell the difference. I wasn't even sure if I was eating meat or veggie. If I'm craving Indian, I'd much rather drive a couple extra miles to the other Indian restaurants in the area.

The place smelled of old cigar or really old building smell, the funiture was old and the service was ok, I am not a big fan on this place, i would not recommend this place to anyone around this area. Unless you like this food, the rice and chicken was great but my other friends did not like their food or the place.

As almost everyone else has said...there's a lot of attitude from the owners/employees. You really are treated like you are bothering them or something.

The food is OK. I've only had the buffet on the 3 or so occasions that I've been there so I can't speak for the rest of the menu. I've noticed that they don't remove the old food and replace it with a new plate...but just dump the new food on top of the old food. The rice on the buffet was 1/2 OK and 1/2 hard and I'm guessing that's from just dumping the newer food over the older food.

If you have a hankerin' for Indian food in this part of town and don't feel like driving somewhere else this restaurant will suffice.

Have eaten here twice and neither time was I blown away. The service is below average, because they almost seem annoyed with you when you're there. The food isn't bad at all, but it's also not particularly stupendous either. It's been a ghost town in there both of the times I've been there too, but I think that owes more to the location than to something wrong with the restaurant. So if you're in this area of Denver, it'll suffice for indian fare, but don't expect to be blown away.

This place has pretty good food but the service is shotty. I've been here twice now. Looks like an Indian family owns it. they have a buffet 7 days a week for $10 which isn't bad but if you like your food spicy, you'll need to ask for chili powder because the buffet stuff is not spicy at all.

Dinner is better because you can have your food made mild, medium or hot. I am a big fan of nan bread and sauce when it comes to Indian food. This place has the nan but the sauce is minimal.

The restaurant itself is a fairly large size but there is hardly anyone in there. The establishment has a dated look to it. Also, if you are looking for a quiet atmosphere, this place will work well for you.

Overall this place is tasty but lacking on other fronts that make for a great dining experience. Good place for a casual stop if you are in the neighborhood and feel like Indian but don't make this place a destination if you live further than 10 mins away.

An Indian lunch buffet on a Saturday? How awesome is that?!

The buffet menu was pretty standard - tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, meatball curry, mixed veggies (the sign called it that), veggie pakora, saag paneer and dal. The naan is brought to your table fresh and hot as hell. I ordered a mango lassi and it was also delicious.

Even though lunch was tasty, I didn't have the best time just because I didn't feel very welcome. Twice, I felt it necessary to say, "I'm sorry, I've never been here before." Once when I started at the wrong end of the buffet and he chastised me and the second time when I inquired where the naan was. I didn't need a hug or anything, but something less than a growl would have been nice.

The lunch buffet was around $9, which isn't bad but isn't great either. I left absolutely stuffed and more than a little sleepy. I won't be going back here alone again because I felt bad having that whole basket of naan to myself and to distract me from the grumpy people.

There's not a lot to eat on Leetsdale, at least not a lot that isn't McDonald's or Taco Bell.  Enough said.

    About the restaurant:

Both of our water glasses had red lipstick on them....Very nice.  But other than lipstick traces, everything seemed alright in A Taste of India.  There's nothing special about the decor, other than it reminds me that this place must've been a Denny's or Village Inn back in the day.  The waitress, host, and I suspect co-owner was prompt and slightly forceful in her work - actually reading off the menu to me when I hadn't ordered to her speedy expectations.

The food was good - not as spicy as requested - but again, good overall.  The menu seemed extremely complete as far as Indian food goes.  Ah, and the garlic naan was pretty tasty as well.

To sum it up, Leetsdale sorta blows.  It's a boring street on the way to suburbia, and there's not much choice (are there every any worthwhile choices in suburbia?).  Out of all the blandness that is Leetsdale, A Taste of India offered what I believe is authentic Indian cuisine.

I've been here many times for the buffet and a regular dinner.  Similar to every Indian restaurant with a buffet, the dinner service is significantly better than the buffet.  That said, I think this is one of the better Indian food buffets I have dined at.  The buffet menu is pretty constant, saag paneer, vegetable korma, pakora, chicken curry, turkey meatball curry, dal, and tandori chicken.  In addition, this is the only place I've been to that actually gives you freshly made naan with your buffet - others simply make a giant batch that turns soggy and rubbery under the unflattering glow of a heat lamp.  All dishes at the buffet are wonderful, but easily my favorite part of the meal is the selection of desserts - rice pudding and mango custard.  Nothing is better than leaving a restaurant with orange stained teeth from eating a boatload of mango custard.

The dinner service is wonderful.  The food is made with powerful spice and comes to you rich and flavorful.  My favorite dish here is easily the vindaloo, but I don't think I have ever had anything that I disliked.

I used to live a block away from this place in S Quebec St, this is one of Indian places I have visited most in Denver, i think 4 times.

Been here only for Buffet. Food is OK, had decent Veg options, so my Veg friends were fine to come this place. Couple of spinach dishes were good and consistent. For money Lunch buffet is good and I think they have Dinner buffet twice or thrice but it is not worth for the price.
