I received  Teena Mia Groupon gift for dinner for 2  that expires this February 18, 2013.
I tried calling the listed restaurant phone number at 312 902 1550, even called 411 information and no other numbers represented them, and a "Temporarily disconnected" message came on after I tried calling and same kind of message for faxing them, IS TIA MIA at 651 W Washington still open?
WOuld like to know, Â also let my friend know who gave me the gift ,,its too bad if not open, the place looked good to eat at and try! Do they have any other locations in the city?

I recently bought their groupon deal, went to the store just a couple of days later and was surprised to find it closed and a pile of their mail stacked up by the door. Their phone number no longer seems to be active and the mail man told me he hadn't seen anyone there for a while. Their deal still seems to be on sale through groupon, which is quite absurd if you ask me. Are they officially out of business?
Review Source:Not only is the food amazing at Teena Mia but the service far exceeds even the highest expectations. Â We purchased a groupon recently and went into the restaurant at 7:59pm when they close at 8pm. Â At most other restaurants they would turn you away, especially for a groupon customer. Â However the owner himself took our to-go order, chatted with us while it was put together and made us feel like we weren't those last-minute customers. Â He even threw some holiday cookies in with our food that I was asking him about. Â It was a terrific experience and he told us they were planning to start opening for brunch on the weekends which we were excited to hear. Â An establishment such as Teena Mia truly deserves to succeed and we plan to help them by frequenting there often!
Review Source:I went here this past week for lunch with a friend. Upon walking in, I was a little bit confused as to how the place was set up. Do I go up and order? Or do I sit down and they come to me since I'm getting an actual meal?
After asking for menus from the counter and walking back to my table, we both agreed that we were confused. But whatever, I had a groupon for 2 garlic breads, 2 pastas and 2 drinks, totaling in $38.
Here are some problems that I had.
-The cashier didn't know how to work the register with the groupon, so he switched with someone else. The new guy seemed knowledgeable about it, so it's all good with me. It said on the groupon that each pasta dish was good for up to a $13.95 value. So I ordered the mostacoli with meat sauce and extra chicken, which comes up to $13.95. I don't drink pop, so I asked if I could upgrade from the garlic bread to the mozzarella sticks, which was $1. A drink costs $2.25. He said they don't normally do that, but he would do it for me. However, you only get 3 mozzarella sticks. My coworker gets mozzarella sticks from this place all the time and she definitely gets more than 3. Rather than getting gyped, I just switched back to the garlic bread.
-A side salad comes with the pasta, so I ordered a cesear side salad. When I go to get my food, I get a different salad. The lady who handed me my food said they don't have a small cesear salad, only a small size of the regular salad. So instead, I got a bowl of chicken noodle soup.
-After we're done ordering, he says I have a balance of $5. WTF? If anything, there was money leftover on the groupon! Â I didn't want to deal with the hassle so I just paid for it.
After all of this, I just wanted to enjoy my food and company. I will say that the chicken noodle soup is good. However, i was disappointed with the chicken alfredo pasta and the mostacolli with meat sauce. They were both bland. My coworker has ordered the chicken alfredo pasta before and shared it with me. I was really happy with that, so I recommended it to my friend, but when I tasted some of hers, the sauce tasted watery and it had no flavor. Mine was bland as well and I was itching to look for some hot sauce/hot pepper flakes to give it some kick.
The only positives that came out of my experience was that there was an old man that came around regularly to grab our bowls and gave us boxes. He was very courteous and even held the door for us as we left. I will give them an extra star for that. Also, the portions were pretty huge, but if the quality of the food isn't really there, then it's not worth it.
Overall, pretty disappointed. Never going back here again. I'd rather go to the new place next door called the Griddle or something.
I love this place. Â One of my favorite lunch spots. Â I love there fried ravioli. Â They are to die for. Â Their handmade pizza by the slice hits the spot. Â Not to mention their signature eggplant panini sandwich. Â Ever since they moved to the new location, the food and atmosphere is definitely something I enjoy every week.
Review Source:This place is my Friday lunch spot. Â They have a full menu of pastas and italian food (eggplant parm is really good), but i like the subs for lunch. Â I always get the italian but the chicago beef one is really good too. Â The food is flavorful and large. Â Plenty of seating inside, although outside is slightly limited.
Review Source:Very disappointed again! Â I've been there a few times thinking it was just a bad day. But this last time sealed the deal. I ordered the chicken sandwich. It was so bad I couldn't finish it. The breast was rubber and tasted horrible. Â Not sure what was going on but it was NASTY! Â My friend had the tuna sandwich and the bread was stale and there was way too much lemon juice in it. I will say the fries were good....hence the one star. Â Bad service. Maybe because I went on the weekend all three times....because I live right next to them. Â Too bad, I wish they were good. Â Hopefully the place going in next store will be better.
Review Source:This used to be one of my favorite lunch spots when it was a block or two east of the current location.  Now the only thing it has in common with that restaurant is the name.  I have eaten here 5 times since the move and they have managed to get my order right once.  The quality of food is terrible  - processed cheese on sandwiches, wilted greens in salads, watery sauces on pasta, very sub par pizza.  The service is slow, everyone behind the counter is confused by the cash register.  This place is neither as good as the old location or the Columbus Diner that used to occupy this space.  I am sad they are not better because I work in the building and it would be very convenient to eat here regularly, but I just can't.
Review Source:Another regular place for lunch becuause everything is really good and servings are plenty large for lunch. My favorite is the italian sandwich and meatball sandwich. Pizza and pasta are also very good...actually I have never had anything bad. If you go for lunch, you get there before noon or you will be in line and they are not very fast. I would guess every meal is cooked to order so getting fresh food has a price of waiting. Not a problem for me, but I get there before noon so I get it freash and fast. Keep it up!
Review Source:I have had many lunches at Teena Mia, and I am glad that they wil be reopening one block west from their old location. Â They closed their last place unannounced, and as it was a weekly visit for me I was not happy to see them close. Â The pasta is cooked upon order, and cooked properly. Â The tomato sauce is real, and tasty. Â This is one of those hidden gems, a family run type place that takes pride in the food they serve. Â The menu has many pasta and sauce selections, hot and cold sandwiches, pizza, etc. Â The pork chop sandwich and the pasta are my favorites. Â The staff takes a while to warm up to their customers, but I see nothing wrong with that.
I am looking forward to their new location, and can't wait for a pasta lunch.
Did this place close?! Â Or did it move?!
Either way, I will be very sad. Â I walked over there the other day and the windows were all papered up. Â There is still a Yelp sticker affixed to the entry window, but that is all. Â No notice.
The eggplant parm panini from Teena Mia is seriously wonderful, and I often have hankerings that can only be satisfied by this establishment. Â The staff is so nice and appropriately rough-around-the-edges. Â Great people. Â
If you are gone for good, you will be missed, Teena Mia.
(tips hat)
Teena Mia runs like a well oiled piece of machinery. Â The staff are all quick and eager to please. Â And the food is de-lish!! Â Prices are more than reasonable as you can ask for a 1/2 order on many items. Â You are also welome to BYOB, which is more than convenient with the Wine store right next door. Â I work 1/2 block away from Teena Mia and dine there at least once a week. Â I love the place, the people, the value for your $$ and most of all--- the FOOD! Â Check out Teena Mia for a hearty lunch next time you visit Ogilvie Train Station....you won't regret it!
Review Source:My first time eating at Teena Mia was with my boss. I must say I was nervous at first but after eating their food I'm a repeat costumer. Their Italian beef is amazing and only 4.50 (extra toppings are .50 additional). Writing this is making me craving one- looks like I know what I'm doing for lunch tomorrow!
Review Source:Teena Mia is a great Italian place in West Loop. Great Italian food that tastes good and is made to order. I had an eggplant parmigiana sandwich and it was really delicious and quite filling. Â The prices are super reasonable, you can actually get a good lunch here for a good price. I highly recommend checking out Teena Mia!
Review Source:Went for a quick lunch during work based on a recommendation of a coworker.
The food is good. I got a calzone, which changes on a daily basis, and it seems as though everything is fresh, made-to-order.
The cashier was very pleasant and asked how my day was so far.
The wait for the food was very long. Granted it was noon so the lunch rush was definitely on, but the lady distributing the food (looked like the owner) did not seem at all happy and actually forgot to put my coworkers order in and we had to wait an extra 15 minutes to get her food.
Prices are pretty decent, so I would probably eat there again but if the service is poor a second time, I won't be dining there anymore.
This is another one of those reviews where I am a bit conflicted. It's weird because I really do like the people and the food is, on the whole, a good value for your money. And I've been here more than 2 dozen times as I worked around the corner.
But I didn't realize until late that their secret food is the sandwiches and the burger. They're worth the wait and really are the most edible things on their menu. The rest is good, but the price doesn't justify the lack of flavor. A lunch special, for example, puts you in the $10 to $12 range fast. And, for that, I'd rather go elsewhere in the area. For that I give it 2 stars.
On the other hand, you can get in and out in less than 5 minutes and take home an egg salad sandwich, fries and a medium Barq's comes to $7. Now THAT'S a good deal for the Loop. For that I give it 3 stars.
Why isn't there a 2-1/2 stars!?
I would love to have given Teena Mia 5 stars for the great food and friendly staff, however, the staff never seem to know what they are doing. Give yourself extra time when going..the line is always long due to the fact that the cashier can never find the buttons on the register to ring you up. I understand that it gets extremely busy in there during the lunch rush, but you would think that they could handle it because they are only open for lunch and go through the same routine everyday! While I am standing there waiting for my food to be prepared, orders always seem to be mixed up. I haven't heard many complaints while waiting inside the restaurant, because they usually tend to take the time to figure the orders out and get them straight. It's nice to get what you ordered, but to wait 15-20 mins for it during ones lunch hour is a bit ridiculous.
I have found that calling ahead to place my orders has greatly helped me manage my lunch hour better. I would highly recommend others do this too.
Besides the slow and confused service, the staff is very friendly and the food if GREAT! I personally love their beefs with a side of fries.
Toss up on this place for lunch. Â While it is conveniently located near where my husband works and has a variety on the menu from sandwiches, salads, pizza, Italian... it just doesn't seem that high quality to me. Â I've had a lot of different menu items, but tend to stick with a veggie sandwich, turkey or salad. I think one of the best things we got here was the hot beef with giardinera.
Service/Staff gave me the impression that they were bothered with customers. Â Two or three ladies standing around talking and doing what I would call "down time" tasks while customers just stand at the register waiting to be noticed. Â HOWEVER, this is my experience. Â My husband says that he has had more great experiences here, eaten here more often and that the staff are always friendly with him. Â Maybe I am not regular enough? Â Well, he is a pretty cute guy, maybe they're flirting ;)
great lunch spot, but the tables fill up quickly, so get there early. I usually drop my coat on an open table while I wait in line to order. ONce your order is placed, service is very quick.
I had the Italian Chicken Sandwich. It was quite tasty. My lunch partner had the meatball sandwich with sweet peppers, which is always a good choice.
Based on what I have tried at Teena Mia, I can say this much - it isn't a place to go if you are in the mood for a healthy light lunch. Unless you are my G'ma and think that iceburg lettuce, sad lil' tomato wedges, ranch dressing, carrot shavings and croutons constitute a salad. One afternoon I was left seriously contemplating how I ended up paying $6 for a Nana salad. However, this IS a place to go if you are in the mood for some greasy, cheesy, carb-tastic Italian comfort food. The pizza is tasty, I also recommend the cannoli if you are the decadent type.
Review Source:I went for lunch during the weekday with a friend and the food was less than stellar. Â I had a meatball sandwich which was basically three large meatballs in marinara sauce in a cut open Italian loaf. Â It filled me up and was cheap ($4.50), but the meatballs tasted a little like they've might have spent a little time in a freezer.
My friend ordered a simple fettucini with alfredo sauce. Â It came out in a humongous bowl that could feed a village (props to the restaurant for size here). Â But the dish was soupy, bland, and needed A LOT more flavor and salt. Â Paying $10.99 for this lunchtime entree was not satisfying at all. Â
Also, for water we were charged $0.25 per order (under "miscellaneous beverage") -- might be understandable during these times of economic depression but still a bit of a surprise.
My wife and I, and two friends of ours went to Teena Mia for dinner before a concert yesterday evening.  We ordered an Eggplant Parmesan pizza - sounded good, and it was!  Super delicious.  My wife had pasta primavera, which was basically a huge bowl of angel hair pasta with less broccoli, spinach, and zucchini than she would have liked, tossed with some olive oil  and garlic.  It was light on the veggies, but otherwise well-prepared.
The service, however, was the real standout. Â Granted there weren't many other people there when we went, but the waiter was exceptionally friendly and responsive, and all-around engaging.
I would definitely come back next time I find myself needing a quick, good dinner in/near the Loop.
If you would like your next five meals taken care of - go here and order a calzone - they are the size of a frisbee - but much more tasty than a frisbee.
I have tried a number of items here and they are all delicious. The food is always hot and everything comes up reallly quick even though its made fresh.
I have never eaten in the restaurant - only take out because its on the small side, but I think it would be worth it.
This is a really cute restaurant that I dont think too many people know about! I lived right down the street from this place before and only visited it once. I have no idea why because the food was great! So was the service. The food tastes good and the prices are reasonable. Â I remember their salad and house dressing was REALLY delicious. Next time I am in the area I'm going come back here!
Review Source:This place is very convenient to go from where I work. Â The food is good and the portions are large. Â I normally get an Italian sub from here and they are always pretty loaded. Â I've had a pizza slice to and that was also quite large. Â Prices are good and so is the food. Â I stop by from time to time when I get a craving. Â Come hungry and leave full.
Review Source:Teena Mia is a very nice step above a trip to the food court or one of the local chain haunts like Jimmy John's. Â The menu is decent and their portions are generous. Â My rigatoni with meat sauce (which I am eating as I write this review) is very tasty and took about 5-10 minutes (didn't time it exactly) to be made and come out of the kitchen at around 1pm. Â I haven't eaten anything else there but some of the other food that came out on trays looked quite appetizing.
Minus one star for the service. Â While I was not treated poorly per se, the staff was quite curt and I can tell that they could probably get outright rude if they wanted to. Â To be fair though, dealing with a lunch rush would probably put anyone in a bad mood.
It's close to work and it's another place for my lunch option besides the chains that's nearby. Â There's plenty varieties to choose from: Â sandwiches, pasta dishes, salads, etc. Â Heck! They even have cannoli - although I never tried it since I am not a fan of cheese-like desserts (hate cheesecakes). Â The prices are not too expensive but a typical lunch consisted of a fountain drink, sandwich, & fries can run anywhere between $7 to $10. Â However, the BEST deal has got to be their bowl of soup. Â I mean, it's literally a big bowl of soup for $2.95. Â That in itself is a meal but you'll need the bread too.
The service is okay but the cashier always seem to be in a rush.  She doesn't smile too often and I don't know why?  The other think I don't like is that they call your number (for your food) very loud and it feels  like they are yelling at me.  Oh well, I can't complain about that since I am there for the food and not to meet and greet them.
The good: Â delicious fresh prepared food at a very reasonable price. Â I sometimes walk a mile plus during lunch to go there.
The bad:  the two women behind the counter are rude.  I always thank them for my order and just get rudely snubbed... even good food can be ruined by the crappy service.  I agree with the reviewer who said they treat you like the enemy.  also this place is far out of the way (washington and jefferson and is only open for lunch  (11-4).  BLAH!
The food is good, most of the time. Now that that's out of the way, it's time to rant about the service.
This is one of those mysterious places where the staff treats the customer like an enemy. I suppose it's part of the experience at famous Cheesesteak places, greasy spoon diners and other such locations, but it doesn't add to the ambiance here. Although I have personally experienced it a few times, the fact that I witnessed it unleashed on others today prompted me to finally write this.
I'd also like to add that they were NOT busy and were still jerks so I don't think it was a matter of efficiency.
Great spot in the West Loop to grab lunch, and there aren't a lot of options in the area like it. Â They are super busy during the lunch rush, and it's too bad that it's so small, because it pretty much ensures you'll have to do takeout if you go at Noon. Â The food is great, and they give large portions, so be warned. Â They do take call-ahead orders for pickup, which is convenient.
Review Source:This is a great and affordable BYOB Italian Restaurant in the West Loop. Â They have great (big!) pasta bowls, pizza by the slice, sandwiches, etc. Â The staff is very friendly, though more-so when they are less busy. Â Very easy to get a quick lunch that isn't 'fast food'. Â It seems that they cater more to the lunch crowd with relatively quick service considering their food is mostly cooked-to-order. Â For dinner, they're not open really late (8pm maybe), but I'm hoping that will change as they become busier in the evenings. Â There is a nice wine store conveniently located just a couple storefronts down, so I hope Teena Mia remains BYOB!
