We tried the restaurant after getting a recommendation from someone who worked locally that frequented Meiji for lunch. Â We did not have reservations but the hostess was able to seat us at the sushi bar.
My husband and I ordered a rising sun drink that was delicious but a bit light on the alcohol. Â For starters we enjoyed the Oysters Kampai that was beautifully presented over ice. Â The Asparagus Ribeye Roll was nicely cooked and had a sweet sauce.
For our entree we ordered a few maki to try. Â Our selection included the Philly Crunch, Shogun, and Veggie Crunch. Â All of the maki came dressed in a lot of sauce (eel and mayo) that I found distracting from the heart of the rolls. Â The true flavor of the maki was masked by the extra sauce. Â We saw a Chef's Choice plate go out to a fellow diner and it looked amazing. Â If you enjoy nigiri, this is definitely the route to go! Â We will try Meiji again and try the sashimi.
