This place is a really wonderful addition to the square! Formerly known as Tequila Si, and recently relocated from Broadway to the square, this little gem has an awesome atmosphere and great selection of Mexican food.
Hubby and I arrived on a busy Friday night, but managed to snag a window seat in the bar section. The music selection was nice --not too loud, but audible. We easily carried a conversation without shouting. The chips and salsa were good, but not anything I'd call stellar. However, when you're sorting through their huge margarita drink menu...it's great to have something to snack on!
Their drink list is HUGE! Seriously, so many margs to choose from...it took me a while to narrow it down to one. When it arrived at the table, it was HUGE and strong. Definitely no complaints on the amount of booze in the drink. My husband ordered the traditional on the rocks, and I ordered the blended blue traditional (shot of curacao added in)...both of which arrived in a drink container the size of a fishbowl. Be prepared. Eat more chips.
Their food menu is TOP NOTCH. I tried the 'you pick platter' option, and mixed a variety of tamales and carnitas tacos. Tamales are hard to perfect on a large scale, but Tequila did them right! So wonderful. The red rice and beans were great --the carnitas had a great seasoning on them. Everything came up quickly, hot and fresh, and our server was attentive and speedy.
My only gripe was that the wait staff kept opening the front door to let out the smoke from people's fajita platters. We were located right by the doors, which made part of the evening very chilly...and it's hard to enjoy a meal in a coat. With an adjustment to the ventilation, this could be an easy fix.
Overall, I was very impressed with Tequila. I'll be back soon to try something else!
A friend was in town from out of state and wanted to eat here. Â She had eaten here a couple times previously and really liked it. Â
There are two sections to Tequila's, the bar when you enter on the left and the restaurant if you enter to the right. Â The bar side was smoke filled, so I would not recommend that section if you are sensitive.
We sat in the restaurant section. Â It was slow when we were there, only two other tables filled. Â The servers were a bit slow. Â
They make a fresh guacamole at the table for you. l highly recommend it. Â It's fun to watch and delicious to eat. Â
I had the chicken fajitas and a pomegranate margarita. Â The fajitas were just ok. Â The pieces of chicken were sliced a bit larger than I like. Â The seasoning wasn't anything that stood out to bring me back. Â I was a bit disappointed it did not come with toppings (tomato, guacamole, etc...). Â
The margarita was a little too sweet for me. Â I noticed the lady at the table across from us did not drink her margarita. Â
We tried the milk cake, I don't recommend it.
The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is good. Â The waitress was very friendly.
Definitely worth a visit to make your own opinion.
Great food and even better drinks. Â I love their green rice and chili verde! Â YUM! Â They have a great selection of margaritas and always a great "special drink". Â I was in last night and they had a "smashed pumpkin" drink that tasted like a mudslide and a pumpkin spiced latte has a love child! Â It was awesome! Â
Rumor has it they are going to start offering coursed dinners paired with tequilas. Â I so hope this turns out to be true!
This is a nice, cozy restaurant with a bit of outdoor seating. They have a decent selection, but it looks like they just redid their menu, and it is different, and harder to read, from the last one. Also, does the name keep changing? I felt like it was "Si" and "Sea" at some point (though I could be making this up) and now is it just called "Tequila"?
In any event, I'm not sure if anything disappeared, or if anything new was introduced, but I enjoyed my pollo en mole. My rum horchata was delicious and not too sweet. I just think the prices are a bit high for a Mexican restaurant.
So in Cincinnati I would give these guys 4 starts, but as food goes in Crown Point this place is amazing so 5 stars it is.
We actually hit this place twice in one night.  First we went out with the folks for dinner and had a fabulous dining experience.  I had shrimp tacos that were deliciously seasoned and prepared.  Others had the fish tacos and the tamales.  There was a jalapeño cheese tamale that was delicious but super hot.
When we first showed up there was no one to greet us which was a little weird but then we realized that the waitress is also the greeter so it was cool. Â We were quickly served and they were very interested in making sure everything was perfect.
Later we came back to the bar side of the restaurant to sit and chat with some old friends and they had good specials and the drinks were strong. Â The bartender was super friendly and very gracious. Â The music wasnt too loud nor was the smoking over potent. Â I would of course prefer no smoking but what can you do in CP?
Overall, a really good place to have a drink or to eat a meal, either way you will walk away happy I'm sure of it.
Crown Point is a quaint town and near Taltree Arboretum; these facts have brought me to Tequila Si Cantina twice but it is delicioso enough to merit a trip on its own.
I love the spaciousness of the restaurant and the schmaltzy Mexican decorations, olé!  The bar side is separate and there is a charming patio.  Both times I have gone there the wait staff has been very solicitous without hovering. Â
Twice, I have had the seafood tacos with the spinach salsa and quite frankly they are the best tacos I have ever had - I just retired after teaching Spanish/French for 35 years so I have had my share and then some of tacos. Â I have had the red rice and the green and I would go for the green. Â
For appetizers, my husband and I had the crab cakes and I was really leery of them, too many places have all filling and no crab.  This was all crab and lightly browned on both sides.  ¡ Maravilloso!
My husband had Shrimp al Mojo which he has at every Mexican restaurant we visit and he declared this the best one, hands down.
Coffee was great, fried ice cream fine and the bill very reasonable.
We were quite taken with the place and didn't even have any of the tequila, might have given it five stars! Â Check it out, gringos, you will love it.
PS - Its address is 110 Main, right in downtown Crown Point.
