We came yesterday to celebrate my daughters birthday there were 11 of us and service was good and well timed. We started off with various appetizers. All was good except the calamari breading  had a weird taste to it. The dinner choices are many but the specials prices are not divulged when described. All plates large portions most reasonably priced. The bread on table was disappointing, regular mini rolls not focaccia or the like, but the dipping sauce was delicious. The waiter was accommodating however too talkative to one guest, she didn't mind but he kind of hung around the table talking excessively which was annoying. We ordered a cannoli cake that they get from Brooklyn that was real good.We came home with lot of leftovers. Definitely come again knowing now how much to order.  One of the better neighborhood Italian restaurants.

We've been here a few times over the years, most recently on a Saturday evening in August when we came in for a late meal at about 9 pm. The place was still pretty crowded when we arrived, and they cheerfully sat us down right away.

The dining area is nicely decorated creating a classy casual atmosphere. Within moments of being seated we had menus, water and fresh hot bread, and the waiter told us about the specials.

We both ordered pasta dishes which were ok but nothing special. My wife had a seafood cappellini offering that had too much garlic, and I had pasta amatriciana which tasted fine after adding copious amounts of fresh grated cheese.

Here's the deal. The place is inexpensive compared to most other local Italian byo's, the portions are large (at least for pasta dishes), and you get to eat in a nice warm setting with white linen waiter service. But the food is just average, basically a cut above standard pizzeria fare.

If you come expecting the best Italian meal you've ever had, you will be disappointed. If you're looking for an inexpensive night out with decent food in a nice atmosphere, you are more likely to be satisfied.

One of the best italian I've eaten in the area.

My family is a connoisseur of italian food from growing up in a predominately italian neighborhood. We came here on a suggestion and were "wowed."

The place doesn't look like much along side route-9N. It's very quaint when you go inside and has a nice mellow atmosphere. You'll find a mix bag of attire from casual and dressy.

Portions are big enough for 2 people especially for the ladies. The fish dishes were excellent. I had the Tilapia Oreganatta- lightly breaded with lemon sauce and the fish was tender and fresh. There was another tilapia dish served at my table with great reviews. My father in law, who always eats veal and knows good veal. Loved it here. He stated "it was the best veal I've had in awhile" tender and cooked well with good flavor for his veal parm. My husband, had a veal dish with eggplant and said the veal was great and he loved his dish.

Only other thing is that most places in the area are BYOB. A little confusing when you see bottles of wine on the walls for decoration only and not for consumption. ;)

Overall, it's a place we'll keep taking our friends and family for a good dinner in the area.

This is the latest iteration of this place.  It had long been a pizzeria-restaurant, which has now been redone as a moderately upscale italian semi-traditional eatery.

The decor is appealing, and the tapeloop has the usual italian chestnuts.

The menu is fairly extensive for a place of this size, with the traditional red sauce fav's and some less traditional (i.e. not especially italian) dishes on the specials.

The bread and complimentary foccaccia are good.  The house salad is pedestrian.  My wife says the veal parm is one of the better preparations in the area.  I think the seafood is good.  The portions are large- served on big platters.  (I've carved a turkey on smaller platters.)  The prices are moderate, except for the specials, which can be high, and those prices are not volunteered when the specials are read out by the wait staff.  Service is friendly, but not always well-orchestrated.

The location on the map shown with this review is wrong.  It is on the northbound side of Rt. 9 between Tennent and Union Hill Rds.
