Located far away from the hype, this is a FUN place to drink and enjoy live music with friends. They had great food and drink specials. Everything we ordered was delicious. I have 0 complaints except that I wish I would've known about this place sooner! I need to plan another trip to NOLA soon so I can enjoy this little gem again soon.

Cute small place, but filled with a lot of charm and a great staff.  Had the steak and crabcake dish...talk about yummy.  Came in between sets, so didn't hear too much music.

I would put a 0 start if that was an option.  I went into Three Muses and ordered three drinks and left a tip.  The bartender then billed my credit card more than I wrote for the tip (what a sketchy thing to do).  I wouldn't normally complain about this but she was particularly surly.  I then contacted the bar with no response.  What a horrible way to conduct customer service.

This restaurant was amazing! Great live music, attentive servers, and fantastic food. We had the corn and crab fritters, the scallops, the ravioli, and the feta fries, and loved all of them. A definite must next time we're in NOLA.

Great place on frenchmen street, away from the crowded bourbon street. The Lamb Sliders were perfectly done and the cocktails were some of the best we had in the French quarter. Also, the place is perfect if you are looking to hang out and listen to some good live bands over small plates and drinks!

Spent the last two evenings here. Great music and friendly staff. Frenchmen Street is a find. Three Muses is the jewel. Check out Luke Winslow King on Thursday nights.

The trick to getting a table besides luck is to come here 10-15 minutes before the live music begins...it gets quite crowded thereafter.

    This time, we tried:
    Edamame - $4 - good snack
    bruschetta - $8 - ok
    falafel sliders - $6 - pretty good
    pork belly - $9 - disappointing
    strawberry basil ice-cream - $5 - SO GOOD!

I love this place. Every time I come here I have a great time. This time I went with lovely Daughter #1 for some drinks and bonding. We were lucky enough to snag a table in the back away from the band. Not that the band was bad. In fact it was a great Dixieland combo with a female trumpet player who could really belt out a tune. The food was awesome as it always is.  I have had the pizza now twice and both times it was great. The toppings change, but this time it was smoked duck and chorizo. Last time it was lamb pastrami. Really awesome stuff. I also have tried and recommend the lamb sliders, feta fries, and corn and crab fritters. It you haven't been here, you are missing out. The downside-- it's hard to get a table because it gets so packed. I hope it doesn't get to the point where I have to quote Yogi Berra. When a friend suggested a restaurant, he replied, "Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded." One of my favorite Yogiisms.

I know that practically every bar in New Orleans has live music, but it was pretty awesome to just sit back and enjoy with some good food in this bar. We were brought here by a couple locals and enjoyed some beer and appetizers. It was during jazz week so there were quite a few old people there and some women in the crowd actually got up and sang with a band. Pretty cool!

Not sure what the attraction is that makes this place always require long waits. The food is definitely good and offers interesting options of a gastro pub variety not common in New Orleans, like black bean sliders with avocado mash and feta fries. All of the entrees and starters my table tried were above average however the panna cotta dessert was pretty disappointing.

The problem with this place is that it is extremely uncomfortable. It straddles between a music club and semi-upscale restaurant and ends up so poorly set up for both that you can't enjoy either the the band or the food. I kind of wish they would just stick to their unique strength - a gastro pub - and leave the music for all the other clubs on Frenchmen. I bet they they still wouldn't have any trouble filling tables.

There is a reason this place has the highest rating on Frenchmen Street!  It's got GREAT food, GREAT music and even the service was exceptional.  We arrived at 7pm and got the last table right in front of the band: New Orleans Moonshiners were so good we bought a couple CDs.  The four of us enjoyed several small dishes and loved them all....I never would have ordered lamb sliders, duck pizza, fish tacos or the banana - Nutella ice cream but sure glad we did.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed some of the best cocktails we've ever tasted, along with absolutely amazing and mouthwatering tapas, all while listening to a great band. We have been told that we would have to order our food at the bar, however at least on the night we were there a lady came by and took our order. Unfortunately she did not hear my boyfriends dinner order so his food was never brought and no one came back to check up on us, so it's not like a regular restaurant in terms of the level of service that you can expect. With all of that being said, we really loved this place and would definitely return.

Really enjoyed this restaurant especially in  being that its in on Frenchmen's Street away from the over drunks on bourbon much laid back and fun, food was great just walked in and sat us , waitress were kind, live music interactive food was great too had fried pickles and steak and cake and couple drinks went with my 16 old daughter who really enjoyed the atmosphere ;)
you MUST check out this area and especially this restaurant youll feel like a regular..

True culinary bliss - the food was delicious and sophisticated, free of convention and rules of any sort, kinda like NOLA itself.

Pickle chips were crispy and tangy. We also ordered lamb sliders, local tomato heirloom salad, portobello ravioli and ratatouille bruschetta. Each of which had the balance and excitement of what would come out of a Michelin star but way more fun and wholesome :)

To top it off a decadent empanada with warm gooey banana and Nutella ice cream.

The music was a delight. Service was special - all the staff kept checking on us periodically. Will come back for sure to try EVERYTHING else on the menu.

If you don't mind a long wait this place is amazing. The food is gastropub that can hold its own w/o needing to be a venue. The music is an added plus. Its phenomenal. However, my biggest complaint is the place is to damn small to have so much goodness packed into it. We had to wait almost 3 hours for a seat and then people are also allowed in to the bar area to order drinks and watch the live music which can be a bit troublesome because they just stand packed in around all the dinners. I wanted to stay longer or even all night there to continue watching music but I felt that after I ate it was rightful for me to go which means I was only there for 1/4-1/2 the time my wait was and felt a little cheated out of the full experience. Would I have not gone because of all these gripes. NO. Im glad I suffered through it all. :)

Vying for best meal during our trip to New Orleans (it is neck and neck with a couple others,) Three Muses impressed us to the max.  We wish we had ate here sooner during our trip, so that we could eat here repeatedly thereafter.  We could have ate here 10 times instead of eating one giant disappointment of a meal at a schmancy restaurant in the Quarter. I'll get over it eventually, but it stings a little.

Oh, you want to know what I ate that was so delicious? Scallops. Catalunya Scallops.  I had been eagerly awaiting scallops the whole trip, but not one of the places we went up to that point were serving them.  Three Muses not only had them on their menu, but they were cooked so perfectly and tasted heavenly.  My husband and I shared the Lobster Eggrolls, which honestly, we could have passed on.  They tasted much like any standard issue eggroll. I forget what my husband ordered, but I tried it.  It was delicious too.

We also shared the Pistachio-Banana-Mascarpone Empanada with Nutella Ice Cream. Words escape me.  Heaven in my mouth.  Nutella Ice cream? For real? For real real.  I don't know why we thought it was a good idea to share.  Get your own.

Aside from the food, service was fine enough.  Actually, on a Monday evening, the dining/bar area had a 45 minute wait.  Lucky for us, a table outside was available. Eat outside with less people in my personal space bubble and with no wait time?  Yes, please.  I enjoyed watching the people walk by, and listening to the brass band funkin' it up on the corner.  We didn't mind ordering at the bar, and they food came out lightening fast. Oh, and the bathrooms were clean.

There's nothing more to read here.  You should understand by now that you should be eating at Three Muses as soon as you get the chance.

Good food and Jazz music...what's not to love about Three Muses!

The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because of the insane wait.  We got there at 8:30 and the host (who was lovely, btw) said we may not even be seated before the kitchen closes.
However, we got a seat at the bar and we were able to order food there.

The entertainment was top notch, they had a very excellent jazz singer performing.
For our meal we got Feta Fries, Mac n' Cheese and Lobster Egg Rolls...SOOO delicious.

I go to NOLA every year for Jazz Fest and Frenchman St. is my favorite area...so I will definitely be hitting up Three Muses again!

This was the only eating experience I had in NOLA that didn't blow me away.

How can you have a gastropub or any kind a restaurant that doesn't have coffee?  I was just trying to get a little caffeinated before our next bar crawl. I made the mistake of ordering ice tea, and it did not taste fresh at all.  I was trying to come up with a tactful way to say, "Hey, was this brewed yesterday and you left it in the canister all night?"  Which, the tactful way to say this is when he asks if you want a refill say, "Is this fresh-brewed?"  To wit he will reply, "It's comes out of the soda gun."  Serious ew.  Even Denny's fresh-brews the ice tea.  And they have coffee too so you don't have to settle for ice tea when you really wanted coffee.  But they also have these things at every gastropub I've been too, so you don't think I'm comparing this place to Denny's.

Anyway, my perchance for freshly brewed beverages aside, the food was okay.  I felt a little foolish for not asking what kind of scallops were in the whatever dish we got with scallops.  I'm going to start saying, "I got totally bay scalloped!" when I get something that is technically what it is but not at all what I expected.  They really should change the name: sea scallops can be "scallops" and bay scallops can be "skallops" like crab with a "k", poor imitations of the real thing.  Maybe I will start saying "I got skalloped with a "k""...

Anywho, we got something that was risotto and something that was pasta, both were a little al dente to my taste and there's no accounting for taste so there you go.  But most restaurants I go to don't serve the pasta too al dente for my taste.  Maybe that's what gastropub means.  The stand out of the meal was the ravioli that we had as a starter.  Well, actually the band was probably the stand out, they were great.

So, if you do not require a brewed beverage to enjoy your meal or dessert (dessert without coffee? really?) and you don't mind skallops or pasta molto al dente, this might be the spot for you.

This place is extremely popular... so eating here right when it opens at 5 is your best bet to get a table quickly.  The set-up is also a little unorthodox in that you order everything up at the bar.

The food was good - I tried both the mac'n'cheese with brussel sprouts (a great combination!) and the lobster egg roll.  The mac'n'cheese was creamy and declious while the lobster egg roll had a nice flavor and spice to it.  For a lobster egg roll I didn't taste much lobster, but I didn't expect to for the $9 pricetag.  Still tasted good though.

I will definitely give this place another try in the future when I can share a bunch of different things with others... but it fell a bit victim to its own hype on this occasion.  It was definitely good, but I don't think I would wait over an hour for a table unless I really liked the band that was playing during that wait.

Check this place out if you're in no hurry.  If you just want to eat and get somewhere else, you may want to walk down to 13 - where there is rarely a wait for a table and food is just as good, albeit a different type of cuisine.

So, i spent a long time thinking about my favorite meal on my most recent NOLA trip. Three muses won for several reasons

    1. The Food
We ordered really unique dishes that still had the southern flair you look for in NOLA. Fried green tomatoes, lobster rolls, brussel sprout mac and cheese. Yum. They also make a mean moscow mule.

    2. Location
While you will have to wait for table here (45 minutes for 2 on a wednesday night), you dont mind at all because its located in the heart of frenchman. Grab a drink and people watch, or in our case , listen to the brass band playing across the street.

    3. Music
We listened to the most amazing musicians that were playing at three muses. It was great to see some people get up and dance. The music was perfect for dinner, not too loud or fast, but upbeat enough to make it feel like a really special place.

Three muses - you rock. I cannot wait to come back.

(5/10/13) We were told that this was one of the good places to go if you wanted to enjoy some local food without the tourist trap prices. My friend and I arrived just before the happy rush, which meant we were able to find a table before it became crowded.  I tried the shrimp tempura (pretty good), lobster egg rolls (o.k. - tasted mostly like cabbage, the lobster wasn't noticeable) and lamb sliders (pretty good). In general, the food was o.k. but not necessarily memorable, however, the goat cheese cheesecake was very good - not to sweet and just the right serving size.  I think that I would go back for the cheesecake.

We were told that the restaurant doesn't really do table service, so when the staff isn't nearby, you just pop over to the bar and place your order. Unfortunately, the live band wasn't playing during our stay.

I was staying in the French Quarter and wanted to get some quality non-touristy food.  This place met that and more.

First off, the place is located in what is essentially a back alley.  This works, as the place is really food focused.  The wait staff was really attentive and helpful with recommending our order.  We ended up getting crawfish cakes (awesome) and some other items.  We ordered some awesome cocktails too.

We sat at the 'bar', and could see into the kitchen.  We were able to converse with the chef and he actually recommended a desert for us.

This was the best restaurant we at in NOLA...highly recommended.

I had the lamb sliders, my wife had the duck pizza.  Both were amazing.  The duck pizza was light but filling.
The lamb burgers had an exotic taste to me since I have not had lamb in years.  Music was good, but a bit loud for such a small venue. I will go back to this place again..

Three Muses was a lovely place to spend a more classy evening in NOLA. A friend was playing guitar with Kris Tokarsi's combo. The music was smooth, jazzy and fit the atmosphere perfectly. No cover either. Bonus! The service was friendly, although I was a bit confused. I was told you had to order at the bar (maybe just food?), which I did. But then we had a server come to our table and bring us drinks. Regardless, I ordered the feta fries and the mac and cheese. Simply delicious. My friend had the duck pizza (that's right, a pizza with duck meat on it) and my mom had the lobster rolls. Everyone was happy with their food. A few drinks, yummy food, great music, an intimate atmosphere - what more could you ask for?

    Definitely check it out!

Neat atmosphere but the food isn't good enough to justify cost.  Service was good, they were all very nice.  Feta fries are a gimmick.  I don't see the point..  The feta falls off all but the fries at the top.

The lobster egg rolls were good but not even close to uniform (one was fat and short and one was skinny and long).  The scallop linguine was ok but scallops and tomatoes slightly overcooked.  The skin of the tomatoes were very tough.. Good dish, slightly too oily.  The lamb sliders were dry and I wish the blue cheese wasn't on there.

All in all, this is a hip place.  But not sure it is worth it unless you like elevator music.

My friends and I stopped here for a quick drink and to have a listen to the music. It was  a five piece, young band that were very enjoyable and enthusiastic to play. Really lovely. The gin and tonics we ordered were extremely strong, so no complaints there. This place is very clean and has a bit of a system going on with regards to the service. It's good, you just have to know what's going on.

I just wish we were hungry enough to try the food!

FYI ladies, the bathrooms are clean!

The music was excellent, the cocktails delightful, diverse and expertly mixed. The ice cream, however, is where you really hit home. The malted vanilla ice cream may be the best ice cream I have ever had. Ever.

It's so very worth it to visit here. Just try to get to the ice cream -- I know the stuff that comes before it is good too.

Three Muses is for real  connoisseurs of culture, good food and  music  not those looking for a tourist  trap!
What drew me to Three Muses is it's inventive menu, romance, creativity and charm. <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D424UnUra0Xs&s=b624856887ab8d9c134d1f67c5cfe6a29fa3d2f403a3f4e3f7daa0a644a49cac" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.youtube.com/w…</a>
It's not a chain  (I still can't believe people eat in chain restaurants in Nola) and it is not a tourist trap like Mothers restaurant which all true food lovers  with taste avoid if they are  in  the know before they go according  to Chow Houndhttp://chowhound.chow.com/topics/661069.
If all you ate in NOLA were at expensive restaurants famous restaurants and or tourists traps you have missed experiencing NOLA!
Three Muses is listed as French, Cajun and Creole. New Orleans has true fusion cuisine meaning it is not made up by restaurant owners to make money. New Orleans has a fusion of cultures so the cuisine is a reflection on the culture. <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bestofneworleans.com%2Fgambit%2Fbenefit-for-new-york-at-three-muses%2FContent%3Foid%3D2099590&s=4101ff65c98840e6aa99a33be83e03b82c54dc0c6bd89132bc998611bf6453a6" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.bestofneworle…</a>
It has  romantic ambiance   as seen in  this Youtube video in terms of the ambiance .  <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D6tMiSczO3q&s=d8a3f48ee55c5b1b944a622643f8097b96e07594f50d77d206761da57fc56ba4" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.youtube.com/w…</a>
However the tables are a bit uncomfortable.
I was looking  forward to Three Muses so much more than  anywhere else we had on our list in  Nola!  We went on  a Wednesday night. There was a line  45 minutes long. They do not take cell numbers or have a real system they just tell you to come back.
We kept going back. It was too cold to wait so long. We were in Nola  during a cold  spell and I got sick from the cold.
When  we  finally got in  there were signs  all over saying you must buy one drink per person  per set! The seats  were  uncomfortable and the door was open  with the cold air coming in. If you look at pictures of their FB page it looks spacious but when we were there seats  were all cramped together.
The young lady taking names was rude, she was not even paying  attention to her list of names. She kept letting people in front of us in  spite of the fact that  we came back early several times. Several hours went by with the same pattern.
We finally made it in.  But things didn't get too much  better.
It is a bit chaotic in there.  I have to refer you to this review. This reviewer says it better than  I do. <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/three-muses-new-orleans#hrid:VsLBIA-cW-uA_PiPfgX0hg">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a>
The  restaurant was out of everything I wanted to eat.
I had to leave it was too uncomfortable and we didn't get  to try  the  food  I know it is good other wise there would not be lines when other places are  empty but I did not have a good experience there! Plus they were out of everything I wanted and it was still early at  least for us New Yorkers it was early.
We could not get a cab back to the hotel and had to walk in  the cold at  night! It was too stressful for me!
I am  very disappointed in my experience there because I know it is good based on the  menu, the lines and ambiance.
The lines were not filled with  tourists but locals.
What I didn't know was there was  apparently  a big name there that night which is why  they  charged per set.  I did not know that. You can keep up with  them on  FB,  <a href="/redir?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FThreeMuses&s=50f3ee5229f7613d3854d1d69fcc895a0dbc787f8c0463c820fcef64aa19d9ba" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.facebook.com…</a>
However they had no special announcements on FB the night  we went so we were not prepared for the long  wait or cold open doors.  It  was a big waste of time for us and I wish they had a more efficient  way  of taking names and keeping up with how many people come so tables do not have to be squeezed together. I have to give it 3 stars for my experience since we wasted an entire night of our  very short vacation  which I got sick waiting  in  the cold. Nola had a cold spell when  we were there.
Again I am very disappointed.  But how long we waited and the fact that  it was so cramped and the fact  that  they were out of everything  made it a disappointing experience for us. I need to add that  it was mid week not a weekend and not on  a tourist street.
I am giving it 3 stars to be fair since I didn't get to try the  food.  I usually do not review places I have not eaten at like many Elites seem to do such  as trying to be first to review saying when it opens I hope to try it. That  is not me.
That is those who are  Elite so they can keep their review count up. But since it ruined an entire night of our vacation I needed to review it  hoping they might change  their methods hoping it won't happen to others.
The music had not started yet either. . If it is that crazy of a wait to get in  perhaps there should be a cover charge  and not charge  per set.  In that  case what happens is people wait around for the music and the tables are never cleared.  Especially when music has not started yet.  The people inside were obviously waiting for the music and did not plan on leaving. I am  sure it is a nice place but not run  efficiently to accommodate  the guests! It would have  been more honest to turn us away!We did not take pictures we forgot we were so upset!

This was the first meal on the first day of our visit to NOLA. We were prepared for a long wait but they had a table for us on a Friday evening as soon as our party of four got there!

Took us a few minutes to figure out the system - order drinks and food at the bar, carry your drinks to the table, wait for the food to come out as it gets done. The Sazerac and Hurricane were obligatory on our first night. Didn't disappoint.

The food. The menu is not too big, its all small plates with some good vegetarian, fish and meat selections.

Falafel sliders were amazing. As were the lamb sliders. The Meyer lemon was not detectable in the Cesar salad but it was excellent. Grilled shrimp on polenta was very good with a dark sauce.

Dessert - hazelnut cake with Nutella ice cream - was very dry and not on par with the food quality.

The Royal Roses were playing that evening - couldn't have planned a better way to start off our NOLA visit.

After wandering around the French Quarter and Central Business District, we found ourselves hungry and in need of a little break.  Three Muses looked interesting; a small jazz group could be heard from outside of the joint, a small line was forming near the entrance.

The hostess informed us that a table would be ready in approximately an hour; she then offered a tip: the bar serves the full menu and is "first come, first served."  So, we took our chances and hovered around the bar.

Thanks to my keen eye (brag, brag), we spied a couple that looked as though they might be getting ready to leave.  We swooped-in, made some small talk with them, and confirmed they were preparing to leave.  Score!

Once seated at the bar, we ordered some beverages.  A delicious Luisa's Husky cocktail (rum, gingerbeer, basil-lemongras bitters) and an Abita Amber.  The bartenders were prompt and friendly, the drinks reasonable and well made.

We browsed the menu before ultimately deciding on some small plates - Feta Fries, Duck Breast Flatbread, and Grilled Shrimp Polenta.  The dishes arrived quickly; first up were the fries, which were super crispy and the feta complimented the salty spuds.

The flatbread was small - slightly larger than a saucer plate, but it was excellent.  The moist duck breast melted in your mouth; the crispy thin flatbread crust provided a superb delivery platform.

The shrimp was briny; typical of a gulf water shrimp.  The polenta was slightly crispy - seared to perfection.  The accompanying sauce was divine.

We had a second round of drinks while enjoying the jazz, paid our tab (a very modest $65) and left to enjoy the rest of our evening.

    Three Muses = WIN

    Food = 4 stars
    Service = 3.5 stars
    Value = 4 stars
MISC = 4 stars (atmosphere, patrons, music, selection)

Great neighborhood place away from tourist traps. Menu is very eclectic. I was there with a friend on valentines day and was treated to variety of dishes like lobster egg roles, pork belly on rye, curried mussels.
On my next trip I tried mac-n-cheese with Brussels sprouts, falafel and sazarac.
Staff is good inside, outside the woman was very stern. I think that was acceptable given the mardi gras and her tough job of ensuring place wasn't too crowded
Overall this is a must visit place

    a very late review.
It's a cool music venue with good food/bar.  We stumbled upon it in the area, and was lured in by the music.  The food was cheap and delicious.  I was pregnant, and have been drinking a lot of soda during our visit in New Orleans.  So the waitress helped me create a refreshing non-alcoholic drink for the meal.  The service was good, not pushy at all considering it's a live music bar.  We were able to take time and enjoy both the meal and music.

Came here to eat on a Monday night before heading over to see Glen David Andrews at dba. Heard it's sometimes tough to get a table, but we got right in; otherwise, looked like ~15-20 minute wait.

First off, the ordering system is awful: there is no waitress, so you have to go up to the bar to order, and bring drinks back yourself (staff does bring out food, though). Considering it's a small space, they have tables tucked into every nook and cranny to maximize occupancy, and there might be ppl dancing in front of the band, seems like a no-brainer to have a professional do this, instead of the patron, who is apt to spill part of his cocktail/wine, etc. Furthermore, since staff does bring out the food, how hard would it be to have them also bring out the drinks (and take orders)? Abominable system; whoever came up with this was clearly wearing Bad Idea Jeans.

The drinks were fine, and the small plates were perfect for sharing: beet & blood orange bruschetta ($8), mac n chz ($7), braciole ($12), steak & cake ($12), lamb sliders ($9), kurobuta pork belly ($9) and lobster egg rolls ($9). Highlights (for me) were braciole, lamb sliders and steak & cake.

One of the bartender/servers was difficult, but I'll let that slide.

Overall, I'd give 4 stars for food and 2 stars for ordering system/service, so 3 stars total. I'll definitely try to go back, but if there are no seats at the bar and wait is more than 15-20 min, I'll look elsewhere.

One of my favorite places in New Orleans. The atmosphere of Frenchman... the local vibe... the great music... the excellent service... the *awesome* cocktails... and the food... the foooooood.

(I didn't like the apple crumble thing... it was dry.... but the rest of it was drooly.)

Three Muses = trifecta of booze, music and food. Add me to your long list of fans, Three Muses!

When you think about it, they could probably get away with serving less than fantastic food. Many venues do! Three Muses puts as much attention and love into their food and drink as they do their bookings and this is how they are in a league of their own. Each time I've been here, I've been pretty blown away by what I've ordered (last night's tofu bulgogi being the best of the best!) Don't be deceived by a modest-sounding menu. The plates are small, but contain mucho deliciousness. You know what they say about too much of a good thing, right? That said, this is the kind of place you don't come starving after not eating all day (like last night). Besides the flavorful and light bulgogi, I also dig the edamame which comes in sesame oil. Falafel balls are amongst the best I've had, however I think they could use a lot more tahini (unless it was left off by accident. I couldn't taste any).

Cocktails. Last night's drinks were both a hit and a miss for me. The absinthe drink is described beautifully on the menu but the flavors described just did not come through. It really just tasted like absinthe. The lavender lace, OTOH, I could have drank all night. Champagne plus lavender? Oh hells yeah.

Music. What can I say? They book great stuff here. Each time I've been, I enjoyed the acts immensely. You'll get the quintessential jazz club experience.

Service is friendly and if the bartender is able, will keep coming back to check on your table if you need drinks. A personal preference would be to have full table service, as I don't like ordering at the bar. Since they don't do separate checks, this requires one person from your party to go up and give in your entire order. It's just awkward if you're with more than one other person. That's about the only thing that makes this four instead of five stars for me.

Bonus points, however, for that awesome blonde gal working the door and seating your party!

Absolutely delicious food, tasty cocktails, great music, great atmosphere, friendly service.  This was my favorite meal in New Orleans.

Standouts:  Scallops with saffron linguine, steak & cake, The Muse (cocktail).  Both the falafel and lamb sliders were good, but couldn't compete with the stellar seafood.

After two unsuccessful attempts to get a table for dinner, we finally came at 4:45pm on a Sunday evening.  The bar seating was full by 5:30, and the dining room tables by 6pm.  If you want to eat dinner here I'd highly recommend getting in early or be prepared for a minimum one-hour wait.  (But the wait will totally be worth it.)

My man is known as "The Bar God".  Let me tell you why.  No matter where we go, no matter what time it is, no matter how popular a bar is, this man will manage to get a couple of bar stools within a minute of walking in.  The place can be jumpin' in a packed house and still, somehow, magically, 2 bar stools will open up and voila... we have a seat.

It's the day before New Years Eve...  New Orleans is packed with tourists, drunks, and misfits.  Every damn bar, every restaurant, good or bad, was packed.  No reservations.  All first come, first serve.  There was a line around 3 Muses like it was the hottest club in Manhattan.  We walked up to the hostess, where she proceeded to tell us that they weren't even taking anymore names.  We were both sorely disappointed.  All week we were looking forward to coming here.  It was the best food we had on our first trip to the city.

    Anyway...
We walked away like 2 kids that just lost their pup.  We wandered around the open market across the street when The Man says, "Hey.. Let's go back and see if we can get lucky."  I looked at him like, "Are you out of your goddamned mind?!"  Ugh...  but, I agreed.  I waited across the street while I watched him have a few words with the hostess.  He signals me to come over, and "BAM!!".  The hostess tell us to wait at the bar and have a drink and she'll call us when there was a table available.

    I fuckin love this man...
We walked over to the bar to order a couple of cocktails, and what happens???  2 bar stools open up right in front of us and we're in...  UNBELIEVABLE.

    The food...
Still the best damn food in NOLA.  The menu I noticed has changed so I won't go into details of what we ate because it'll probably change again but expect to be blown away by an explosion of flavors.  (make sure to get the lamb burgers) The chef certainly has a sweeter palate so, for some of you, you might not be so keen on a few of their plates, but I thought it was fucking fantastic.  The bartenders mix a helluva a cocktail.  Try their cocktail menu.  You won't go wrong.

This is a VERY popular joint.  Prepare to wait.  That is, unless your prayers to the Bar God are heard.

    Amen...

Ugh, New Orleans is already such a sultry siren, how am I meant to resist her advances when places like Three Muses tempt me off the straight and narrow path I walk?

Just kidding, bring on the hedonism, I licked every last plate clean.

We came in on a busy Sunday night and were tucked into a cozy table toward the back. It was romantic and intimate, and there was a singing cellist as the musical entertainment that evening. The music was not so loud that we couldn't hear one another, and the whole vibe was charming.

We indulged in the Radicchio salad, the rice bowl, spicy perfection with the kimchee, and the short ribs, which were done to absolute warm tenderness. Like a hug in my mouth. We housed everything put in front of us, literally not a scrap left on the plate.

This is an incredible date night spot. I spotted many couples taking the opportunity to feast and fondle, and not a better place for it.

In keeping with tradition, let me start with the all-important ladies' room.  Wow.  This place has the cleanest - I mean sparkling - bathroom on Frenchman.  And this is no fluke.  I have been here numerous times, and it's always clean.

Now, the rest.  This is a fantastic place to see live music.  It's smoke-free, and you can sit.  Maybe.  Your chances are better if you are eating, so bring your appetite and pull up a chair.  If you eat pork belly, I highly recommend their preparation.  It's delicious.  I order it almost every time I eat here.  The lamb sliders are another great choice.

The wine list here is great, and the specialty cocktails are noteworthy.  I was all about the champagne cocktail with lavender and a sugar cube the first few times I visited, but a sweet-faced, busty bartender suggested I try a blueberry mojito, and I haven't looked back.  It is delicious!

The "additional tips" have this business listed as "Good for kids:  No."  I have to disagree.  I brought my six year old here for a fancy night out, and I asked the bartender for a yummy kiddie cocktail.  Holy beyond the call of duty, Awesome Bartender Lady.  She made my girl a virgin strawberry margarita on the rocks that would knock your virgin socks off.  Moreover, there were feta fries, a fancy preparation of mac & cheese, and other kid-friendly options on their sophisticated menu.  Add to that live music, and no smoking, and I think this spot is a parent's dream come true.  But if you want to drink as many blueberry mojitos as I do, you might want to leave the kids at home anyway.
