Good breakfast, great way to start your day.

I don't know what happened but a dozen of us went to Tiger Bar the other day and it was terrible!!  First off it was 11:25 a.m. and they supposedly serve breakfast until 11:30.  I ordered the fried chicken first (more later) and my friend wanted to order breakfast.  The waitress (young, blonde, white woman, medium build) responded "we either serve breakfast or lunch but not both."  What??  And she was a bit rude about it.  My friend ordered the fried chicken like I did.  Another ordered a salad and a bowl of chili.

When our fried chicken arrived it was grossly overcooked and dry.  When my other friend received his bowl of chili he was not given a spoon nor the iced tea that was ordered.  After waiting about five minutes (and watching the waitress attend to other tables) we got tired of waiting and asked another waiter for help and he immediately assisted us.  I also asked the original waitress for some bar-b-que sauce to help the taste of my fried chicken and I NEVER received the sauce.

A couple of us are asian, another couple are hispanic and one white so I hope this was not a racist thing.  The waitress seemed to serve other tables of whites just fine and even joked with some of them.

All I know is that we will never enter that place again.

In a very quaint and pleasant environment with great service we sampled the turkey burger, patty melt and  the bean and cheese burrito.
The turkey burger was very salty and rather tasteless. The patty melt was adequate, and the burrito was filled with olives, onions and red peppers topped with heavy cheese and a side of beans and more cheese...since I requested light cheese, I shudder to think what it may have been had otherwise. Would I return? Probably not.

Place has been opened since 1932. Service is fast even when they are busy.  Menu is typical American dine in nothing fancy but descent.

Liked it a lot, clean place, very friendly, helpful, pleasant staff. Had the fish tacos, they were better than average. Seemed like a fun place to hang a while.

Though we were about the only ones there, it didn't discourage us from trying it. Family stopped in for lunch today. Out of curiosity,  I ordered the pineapple cheeseburger with Tiger fries. OMGosh! Delicious!! The guy that served us was nice and down to earth. I would definitely be back when we are in the area. Just happened to be on our family vacation.

The place to go in June Lake. I come here with friends every year and I've never been disappointed. The burgers are very good and the fries are among the best I've had. Often have to wait a little while for a table when they're busy but it's worth it. Service has been fine and I enjoy the low-key, casual atmosphere. It helps that it's an easy walk from anywhere in town so my friends and I never need to worry about ordering a pitcher of beer (or two!).

Delicious! Thanks Lydia for quick, attentive service with a smile. My husband got the Tiger Burger and I opted for the turkey burger which was huge, juicy and delicious! A very satisfying, simple and hearty lunch.

We always stop at Tiger Bar on our trips through the June Lake Loop. It's a great place to have breakfast and also a great place to meet with friends on a chilly June Lake evening. The food is very good; you should try the Tiger Chips! When it gets busy the service can get poor, but all in all its worth the time to eat here. Prices are reasonable and portions are good. Locals tend to gather here and yu can hear a lot of stories about the fishing and the area. Ski season makes this place rock!

In a town that is about as shut down as you can get without going completely out of business, the Tiger Bar is a good option.  We stopped in for breakfast the weekend after Thanksgiving on our way out of town.  I got the Bacon & cheese omelet & the hubby got the french toast.  Both were tasty & filling.  The coffee was nice & hot & the prices were great.  Our waitress was also very friendly & attentive.  You could tell this was a local hangout mainly servicing regulars, such a comfortable setting.

The Tiger Bar is great! My family and I make this a must stop whenever we travel along the Eastern Sierras. The food is the perfect selection of cafe and mountain fare. The prices may seem high to some but the flavors and quantity make it more then worth it. I mean, you are getting delicious grub and drink at June Lake! I consider myself fortunate. Besides, the Bloody Mary's more then make up for it. $3.50 for an awesome drink like that??? So worth it every time. The selection at the modest sized bar is also more then adequate and there are TVs for the sports fan to get their fix on the road. The staff is friendly and on top of everything in the most friendly, casual way. Love it!

For places to eat in June Lake Tiger Bar by far has the best food for the Money. The Mexican Food is surprisingly good.

We ate here several times during our weeklong vacation at June Lake.  The burgers were great!  I liked the patty melt and fries a lot.   My bf had the Pineapple burger and said it was good.

The menu said the Mexican food was "Awesome".  Since I am from San Diego where Mexican food is a staple,  I was ready to compare.  Well, they were correct!  Their Mexican food was AWESOME!  I had the beef enchilada, nachos, carnitas taco and chicken taco.  All were prepared exceptionally well with fresh home made salsa.

I also loved the hefeweizen beer.  They had a friendly, down-home bar environment with a pool table, juke box and lots of locals.   For price, convenience and taste,  this is my choice for dining when traveling to June Lake loop.

I have a different constitution. I have a different brain; I have a different heart; I got tiger blood, man -- Charlie Sheen

After almost four hours boating and epic failing at fishing, Mini-me and I needed food, not Tiger's Blood.  This was just a block or two away from the Marina and fit the bill perfectly.  Yet another burger for my son, Mexican food for me.  Both were competent but not exceptional which is probably to be expected in a restaurant/bar located out in the middle of nowhere.  They do have a jukebox though which is a necessity and homemade pies that are outstanding.

Service was s.l.o.w.  Our simple lunch plus pie & ice cream too almost 90 minutes and they were only moderately busy.  Next time we do this I pack sandwiches.   2.5 stars, rounded up, for the pie and refillable diet pepsi/coke.

Its a local's place (most of them cozy up to the bar area) or a vacationers place to go (as its in June Lake Loop area).   Breakfasts are good and filling here.  Hamburgers are good here.   Good place (only place?) to go late at night in area for some drinking pleasure.   Friendly service; casual place.

Not bad for a bar/restaurant in the vicinity of the June lake. I had the patty melt..... really can't go wrong with that. It came with some beer batter fries which were not bad (fries with a crispy batter). I can't say that I would crave this place..... but its open and its decent for lunch or a drink at June lake. It has a pool table, some video games , a full bar with tigers and trout decor all over the place..... can't beat that!

Hey, you can't expect too much up in the mountains.  Tiger Bar was right around the corner from my lodge.  Popped in one night for a few drinks.  Went back one day for breakfast.  My breakfast sandwich was delicious, one of the best I've had.  The decor is funny, tigers all over the place, and some big mounted fish.  My girlfriend had the biscuits and gravy.  The gravy wasn't all that good, potentially from a can.

Friendly service, full bar, cool / quirky place.  I give it 3 stars because it isn't GREAT, but I can't hate on it.  I will be back to the Tiger Bar next time I'm in June Lake.

For breakfast, I still prefer the Silver Lake Resort.

Chips and Fries at this place were really good.
And the waitress was also super nice.
The hot dog and hamburger were good.
The place is kind really a bar though.
So this is bar type food.
Lots of people looked like they were back from fishing.
Might be perfect for some people, but I like it a lot cleaner.

This cafe was recommended by several of my coworkers and since we love visiting June Lake, we decided to try it out!

First off, it's located right on the road and it is easy to spot out in the many businesses around. Parking seemed limited to me, street parking as well as parking on the side of the building. Inside is open and they have a pool table, video games, games for kids, etc. (I think I saw a dart board). The bathroom was clean & that's all that really matters to me.

You go in & take a seat at a free table. It was lunchtime on a weekday, but there were people sitting at the bar. Very upbeat and welcoming, yet a good place to unwind from outdoor activities. A very friendly worker brings you the menu. It is a typical cafe menu. A good selection of food for everyone.

I had the chiliburger with chips (they make their own). It was very good! It was open faced and the chips were not quite what I expected, but good.
CJ had the French dip with fries. It was average, but still good.
**Later, a friend told me to try their nachos.

    Overall, I'd eat here again!

We were staying right around the corner at Gull Lake Lodge and after a very hefty dinner of cheeseburgers, bacon, lasagna, hotdogs and a walmart aisle's worth of chips and junkfood onhand, I was craving dessert.

Well, sans all of that, I would still crave dessert either way. First I wanted pie, then I wanted cake, then I wanted ice cream.  We called Tiger Bar to see if they offered any of the above. To my belly's pleasant surprise, they had all three options.

During that time, it was relatively empty. The patrons seemed to be regulars, or they interacted with the staff as if they were. Comfy setting, non-pretentious or foufou.

I got the peach pie, german chocolate cake both a la mode because that's the only to do it right.

First off, that vanilla ice cream was bomb. I'm not sure if I'd attribute that to the ice cream itself, or just my sheer craving overpowering my palate.  The pie was nicely done too. Crust done right, peaches in sweet syrupy-ness.  The german chocolate cake was just ok, reminded me of one I could purchase at the local market. Ate all the ice cream off of that one and took the rest home.

Not a remarkable experience at Tiger Bar but definitely wouldn't mind hanging out here again.

Kick ass burgers, great local beers, good atmosphere.

I was really impressed with their food for looking a bit like a dive-bar from the outside.  Lots of tiger related decor on the inside of course.

    Friendly staff as well!

Their food here is great--steaks, meatloaf, sides; all good! $3.50 bloody mary's? Hell yes! Exactly what hits the sport apres-board: great food, and even better booze. Service is friendly, albeit sometimes slow, but everyone's real nice and the atmosphere's great--basic, lively, rustic, and fun. Hands down our favorite place to stop in and eat/drink/hang out in June. A visit to June really isn't complete without a meal at the Tiger Bar. :)

We always go to the Tiger bar and it is always the same... Great!

It is very rustic with a lively, local atmosphere. If you are looking for fancy, Tiger bar is not for you. They have a big bar and there are usually a few locals drinking and watching sports on TV. There is a pool Table and a Juke box. My hubby and I don't have a problem with this kind of atmosphere even though we don't drink. The servers are always very nice and efficient, always attentive and friendly. Oh yeah, the food! Basically it is just good diner food, I always order the patty melt with world famous Tiger chips (deep fried thin sliced potatoes) Go hungry - Leave happy!

My family and I have been going to June Lake since I was a kid.  We always ate lunch at the Sierra Inn restaurant next to the Tiger Bar, but it is now closed.

We ended up at the Tiger Bar and Cafe on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch.  The crowd was minimal, so we were sat immediately.  The staff was friendly, but it seemed as they care more about socializing with the regulars rather than taking care of our table of 6.  Once the server took our order, we never saw him again until he brought out our food.  We had to flag somebody down for water refills.  The food was average bar food and the price is okay.

The server advised that they take orders to go for dinner, however they could not take the order now.  The server suggested to call later.  Later we called and whoever answered the phone advised that they usually do take to go orders, but they are "too busy" to do it now.

I guess it's time to make lunch back at the condo!  Probably won't go back there again!

Came here for dinner.  Had a lively, friendly atmosphere and the bar crowd luckily wasn't too raucous.  It was one of the only restaurants in the area, so it had a steady stream of people but the customers seemed to have a good time anyway.

Waitress was friendly and attentive.  I ordered the fish tacos which were a little bland, but filling.  The house-made potato chips were tasty and the steak was not bad.  Overall, the food is okay and the casual, laid-back atmosphere is what will keep the place busy.

Every year, my family and I go on vacation and stay at June Lake Loop. We've always passed by Tiger Bar, but never really ate there until this year. We ordered the food through the phone and was told to come pick it up at a decent time.

When I went there, I was greeted by a man who told me to just wait over 'there' and talk to the lady at the bar. Now, I'm not the type of person who tips for take-out unless I had a large order, I'm a regular, or they were extremely helpful. Since it was none of those things, I didn't tip. (I had to wait around longer than they estimated anyway...)

When my brother and I were heading out the door, the lady at the bar mumbled something under her breath as she walked past us. My brother and I are almost positive she said 'I guess there's no tipping in China.' Okay, just because we're asian doesn't make us Chinese. And with an attitude like hers, I'm glad I didn't tip her.

I thought it was overpriced for the two hamburgers and two sandwiches that we ordered. I'm a little disappointed that so much of their food is frozen. Apparently their fries are frozen as well because the box our food came in was for frozen fries (fries aren't that hard to make fresh).

It might have been our first time eating here, but it was definitely our last.

    No tips for you!

The Tiger Bar is always open and always serves reliable food, beer and other cocktails. The Jukebox has the greatest music variety of any.
I always stop in after a great day of Snowboarding @ June Mountain.
Grab a table with my friends have some beers & grub while playing bones. The mexican dishes here are the bomb.

On our first night in June, my boyfriend and I wanted to go out for a cold beer and to experience the town...leading us to Tiger Bar.  We read some of the reviews here and were expecting a dive.  And that's what we found.  I loved it!  We went on a weekday night and got some dinner and a few beers. It was a chill night, few people in for the grub and a lot of locals at the bar.

The veggie burger and the fries were perfection - for bar food.  My boyfriend got the chicken tacos and were pretty average for a bar.  Beer was cheep, cold and good.  Service was attentive and very friendly.

The locals?  Entertaining and super friendly.  We saw most of them on the slopes the next day ;)

Tiger Bar...never figured out why its called that but we will come again!  Just remember: its a dive bar - the very definition.

We ate at the Tiger Bar 3 times during a recent trip to ski June Mountain, twice for breakfast and once for lunch.  All meals were very good and we liked the atmosphere.  Lunch was very lively with everyone singing to the Jukebox songs.

For breakfast they have a lot of selections and their Tiger Sandwich (pancakes eggs and bacon/sausage) is a good value.  They have kid's menu if you ask.  The service was great, but it was never very busy when we were there.  A good sign was all the locals hanging out.  I will defiantly come back when I am in the area.

Cheapest dinner in town  plus all the dive bar action a vacationer could want!

The Mammoth Ale is a winner and so is the BLT.  It's loud in there (in the evening the jukebox plays at about the level of a jet-takeoff) and you might need to wait at the door.  The service is a little confusing because they don't greet you or put you on a list, you just show up and wait around for a table.

The staff was cool - there is good service once you sit down.  We ate two meals and they were both decent, except the grilled cheese my daughter had - which a six year old could have done better.

If you want inexpensive food a similar option is the deli at the southern 395 & June Lake junction - decent breakfasts, burgers, and sandwiches without the crowds.

We ate honey beans and hot dogs only for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Needless to say, I was very happy to go into town for a change of pace. The bar is decorated with everything tiger-themed (and a Tigger. :D). A quaint little place with a Deer Hunter game, the menu has a pretty large selection.

Apparently this place was renowned for their Tiger Beer, a beer especially made for this joint. Heard from word of mouth that you will never order this beer twice. This was my friends' second attempt in 2 summers to order it, and they failed again. They no longer serve it. :(

Which...could actually be beneficial. Instead, we ordered some Mammoth Hefe's on tap (good choice).

The menu's standard; half the table got some sort of burger (turkey, buffalo, 1/3 lb. beef) with a side of beer-battered fries or homemade chips, and the other half got Mexican burritos with a side of nachos.

The burritos weren't burrito-like in that there was no way you could pick it up in your hands. But it was delicious, and no one seemed to care.

GET THE CHIPS. The fries are good, too, but GET THE CHIPS. Or, if you go in a group, GET THE CHIPS and have your friend order the fries. Then you can sample both. But GET THE CHIPS. They're AMAZING.

Portions are pretty big. Most of our group (all guys...and me) had leftovers. Splitting a plate would be sufficient, and if not...other ppl's leftovers (what I did. =x).

Of all the bars we stopped by on my summer fishing trip, this was the most memorable.

Upon walking in, we were met with throngs of excited Argentina fans watching the world cup games. Despite the fact that they occupied at least half the small eating space with empty plates and baskets on their tables, the manager calmly assured us that we would have a table in but a few minutes and made it happen. We sat at the bar and had a few pints of Sierra Nevada while waiting.

After sitting at our table, I noticed that the menu had printed in capital letters (paraphrasing) "OUR MEXICAN FOOD IS VERY GOOD." I couldn't ignore such a candid statement, so I ordered the enchilada combo with chips and salsa. Impressive!

The atmosphere is just what you would expect from a small town lakeside bar and restaurant. Comfy and friendly with a vintage feel.

If you are in the Mammoth Lakes area for a fishing trip and need a place to kill some time during the warm afternoons when trout aren't biting, I highly recommend this establishment.

My bro-in-law spent some time up in June Lake building a house. He went to the Tiger Bar twice a day for three weeks, so when we all went to Mammoth for the weekend he was really excited about going back and eating there.  Good food, comfy place, sports on the tube, all good stuff!

I had the fish tacos which really were wonderful.  Hubby had the meatloaf.  He said it was okay, but not like mine (love him so much!!).  B-i-L had the enchiladas which he inhaled.  The beans that came with my tacos were really great, and I am kind of picky about those!

Service was okay, not good or bad.  I'd recommend the place, it was good comfort food.

Sorry to that dog who had a bad trip on the Tiger Bar. Just have one of the "Long Island's" and act like a local. This has to be the best BAR within 20 miles. I will admit the food is not world class, but the times I have had there were all perfect and memorable.

If this place was a local's only type joint I would have realized since I have graced the Tiger Bar about 40 times since I got my June Mountain addiction.  Again try the Long Island, maybe not the food.

Say what's up to the single mother's for me too :)

Great after slopes place for drinks in the winter. Or after wakeboarding on Grant in the summer.  The bartenders are super nice and the food is awesome.
One of the main reasons for me to go to June instead of mammoth.
That and June is never crowded and always has innovative park lines.

A must stop when you drive through the loop.

OK.  I confess.  I am the "L.Alien" that doesn't tip at the Tiger Bar in June Lake.  I am the one that perpetuates the "Flat Landers don't tip for s**t.  Guilty.

I hadn't learned my lesson.  I went back for a second visit after the horrible first visit.  Both times.  Same waitress.  Bad service.  Mediocre chow.  It would seem I don't know the local "Secret Handshake".  Both times, our server was chatting up the locals, but couldn't be bothered with the out of town visitors. (my party)  My request for a medium hamburger was really a hockey puck.

Save your money.  The chow is way better down the road at the Whoa Nellie Deli.  So is the service and the crowd.
