As far as the food goes, 5 Star! Â Have not had anything I didn't completely enjoy and I've eaten here about 4 or 5 times always different meals. Â The wait staff is friendly and not too intrusive but keeps my tea glass full. Â It's loud during games so if you aren't going to watch the game, you might want to avoid the place on game day. Â If that's what you want, it's a lot fun.
Review Source:The girls are sweet and work hard, but the management here is inexcusable. 45 minutes of waiting the hostess seats the 6 of us at random open seats together in the bar area. Then the manager comes and asks us to move. Â 25 minutes later still no waitress. We have been here an hour with no service. :(
Update: 2 hours in and we haven't even received a beer yet.
1 star because I like beer on tap. Pathetic, right!?! Go ANYWHERE but here for a beer. The food was insulting. Almost nothing in my wrap sandwich....I left nearly an entire empty tortilla on the plate after trying to scavenge out the measly filling. And 13 sweet potato fries on the plate?!! That's IT?! Their food is frozen, for fuck sake! They can afford 5 more fries. We were starving 2 hours later and pissed.
And sorry, but the insecure waitress no substitute for worthless food. She was so self-conscious, she could barely speak audibly to us. We are a young couple with an adorable little baby. Harmless. Maybe her daddy should get a clue and not let her out in a nearly-naked uniform at a shitty establishment for tips based on bad food and service.
The key to this place is the waitstaff. If your waitress is attentive, the experience is outstanding. If she would rather talk to her regulars, why bother paying the premium of this type of restaurant.
I ventured to this place last Friday. The bar area was packed on both sides. That tells you where to sit for the best service. As there was no seats available, I sat just outside the bar area which has waitress service.
My waitress would have preferred to spend time talking with her regulars. I saw her only when she was walking to/from the kitchen. When I asked for a beer recommendation, she suggested the beer of the month. She later told me that she did not like that beer but was required to push it.
One thing to note is that this is a 'Breasteraunt' along the lines of Hooters and Twin Peaks. The scenery is supposed to be as much of a draw (if not more so) than the food, as well as the sports they're currently showing.
Now, I loved the scenery, but I was also really surprised by the food. The table ordered the Irish Stew (tasty!), Rueben (tasty!), BBQ Burger (tasty!) and the pulled pork sandwich (really meh). Definitely better than Hooters, hands down ...just don't get the pulled pork sandwich.
The service was good, and while I don't care about sports, it looked like a good layout if that was what you were there for.
Don't go for the food. But go for the beer selection, many TVs with sports and decent service. I was expecting more of a Hooters climate. It is similar, but a bit lower key. And if you show up in your own kilt, the ladies will all come out of the woodwork to meet you. Bring a camera to record the fun.
Review Source:Stopped in with my son to watch a third rate bowl game and drink a beer. It was my first time dining here so I was interested to see how it compared to Hooters or Twin Peaks. The place is beautiful on the inside, unlike my ex-wife. It's Irish, but not in a stereotypical "Jump Around" way. TVs, pool tables, darts await you as you take your seat.
We decided to start with the Irish Nachos (potato chips, nacho cheese, tomatoes, beef) and they were delicious but a little light on the cheese. My son ordered the kids pizza and I had the Black & Bleu burger. The pizza looked like some artisan concept straight from Cali Pizza...the visual was awesome. It actually looked like a chef made the pizza. My "big arse" burger was piled high with fried onion strings, bleu cheese, and MEAT. Great flavor! Fries were fries.
Now, the waitresses were nice but it was definitely 1PM on a Friday if you know what I mean. Shoulda waited until dinner to check the A-team but that's for another time without the kid...I actually just creeped myself out with that last comment. I apologize.
PS: Happy Hour starts at 2PM and it got me a dollar off of domestic tall drafts ($3 vs $4)
Normally as a girl married and all that, I would be all "gross" because of the scantly clad women. However, the women that served there were actually really awesome when it came to service, and the food there was amazing! We had the drunken clams and split a shepherds pie. Â The wine sauce on the clams that were perfectly cooked knocked my socks off! The shepherds pie was better than the Cheesecake Factory's sheps pie ten fold! They know what they are doing when it comes to food. Plus the outfits on the server girls were actually really cute and reminded me of Halloween :P
Too bad the one in Grapevine is gone... it was even better!
Sat at the bar outside. Â Service was very good. Â Large selection of tap beers. Â Irish Nachos, wings and clams.....Irish nachos was the best. Â They did not mention anything about a late night happy hour and thought the bill was kind of high. Â Food was resonably priced, so the beers were more expensive than most local places. Â They had a band, so if you are looking for sports, it does make it tough with the noise. Â I would rate it a 3 1/2 stars, but they dont have the 1/2 star on here! Â Its not bad place, just not 4 star due to expensive draft domestic beer!
Review Source:I made the mistake of not using yelp before we went - and boy did we regret it. The pub is an Irish hooters - Â if you are looking for that. The food was average at best. No one in the group liked there food and the big indicator was that no one wanted to go boxes. What was really bothersome was the lack of separation of the smoking section. When we arrived early there was no one smoking. By the end of our meal the pub was full of smoke. This was because they had the outside doors open and with the wind out of the south it filled the place with smoke. Â So if you smoke, like kilty girls, and enjoy avg food this your place. They did have a ton of TV,s so watching the big game there could be fun with enough beer to overcome the eating experience.
Review Source:I've been to this place 3-4 times and I really like it! The atmosphere is your typical sports bar vibe - but nicer and brand new! There is enough space to host big parties or sit in a secluded area away from the noise to watch the many screens they have available and any sport game that is possibly on. The bar there is pretty cool too - it's a big oval bar that serves the interior as well as an area that is a part of a patio area - when the weather is nice they open the windows and let the breeze and sunshine in!
The food is your standard bar fare with an Irish twist. They've got a little bit of everything, but I always like to try the burgers when I go, and I'm never disappointed! The pizza, fish & chips are the bomb, so is the Philly cheesesteaks; surprisingly tasty!
Overall, love sitting out at the patio, catching my sports games when I'm forced to meet up with my boyfriend and his dudes - the food and atmosphere make it bareable and a good time!
I guess I can call myself a regular, i stop in when I have time from work. The food is good, not a 4-5 star restaurant type... but lets face it it's called "PUB & EATERY" for a reason! Â They have a good variety of beer and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. Introduce yourself around get to know people.... and I promise they will remember your name next time.
Love it!! One of my favorite places!!
Have yet to eat anything except the bar-food (appetizers) and have yet to be disappointed. Â A fabulous beer tap selection with free tastings (and they don't mind if that's what you do all night, or so I've been told by the waitresses). Â Of course, the girls are in a short tartan skirt and a tied off white top - cross between a school girl fettish and a trashy Scottish woman... Â My friend and I have yet to get bad service, and we've just been there for the sweet tea (very good), drinks and as I said before, appetizers (great snacks). Â The girls I've encountered have been great and willing to sit and talk (during down times). Â It's worth a drop in if you're tired of the other scantily clad themed restaurants around town - good change of pace or a good place to relax after a hot day!
Review Source:The Tilted Kilt sports bar in lewisville according to Wikipedia is : Tilted Kilt Sports Pub describes itself as "a modern American, Irish, Scottish, and English sports pub".[6] The menu is an upper scale mix of traditional and contemporary pub food, serving items such as fish and chips, "Sloppy Janes", and "Drunken Clams". Each sports bar ( and the lewisville location ) Â bar features 24 beers, including flagship beverages such as Guinness and Harp Lager. The Sporting event and sport bar establishments are filled with televisions for sporting events and games such as billiards, shuffleboard, and darts are available for the patrons. look on the calendar for family night, rangers night, football specials and texas hold em schedules.
A funny comment ( to me as a female that does not find the outfits offensive, but cute) on Wikipedia was this: Â The servers are all females who wear bras, baring cleavage and midriffs, likely contributing to a high percentage of male clientele. Â They left out that the MALE Bartenders and staff wear kilts too! Â so Ladies???? Â Let's go for a girls night out and tease the make bartenders in their kilts!
Really great sports bar and food with fun place in Lewisville!
Ok typical guy review the scenery is great! The location is out of the way and hidden from plain view when traveling home north up I35. This place may have been here for some time I just didn't realize it was there.
The SALSA, Fabulous!
The Tap beer selection is great STELLA!
The wings, EH!
There is plenty of TVs and a Pool table.
More to follow.
Went there for lunch. We were getting sick of our usual hangouts. It just opened and I had no idea it was one of those hornball chain restaurants with scantily clad waitresses. Â
I obviously didn't mind since I'm a guy. Sorry!
I went with a friend. He ordered a pizza. The pizza was surprisingly better than expected. I had very low expectations; since these joints usually have bad food. With the exception 1 restaurant across 35E.
I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. My only complaint is that it's a bit small and the bun was much too excessive. The fries are small skinny and crisp. They remind me of burger king fries; which are my favorite.
Service:
The waitress was really friendly. She was very cordial and sat and hung out with us for a little while and chatted. Seemed like she was bored and really wanted to talk. Â
They all wear of scandalous clothing. A short kilt and plaid top scandalous top; like one of those Halloween Secretary tops. Not much for the imagination. But all in all It's a great stop for guys to watch a sports game or event; obviously not child friendly. Keep those kids away!
I was always taught if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. But, my mom will understand. The sevice was really really bad, and when you wait 45 minutes for food and it is wrong and the kitchen manager says 2 minutes, you know he is just picking off what was wrong and when it came back in 2 minutes, cold and still wrong. They have a poker venue which was good that is why they got the one star. Would not go there for any other reason.
