Bottom line:  you come here to socialize and hang out, not actually practice golf.

I kinda feel badly giving this only 3 stars, because Top Golf is a really cool idea--target-oriented practice. I love the concept of scoring a practice session, with cleverly planted microchips inside golf balls to track distance, accuracy, scoring. Here are the pros and cons:

    Pros:
    -- Nifty concept
-- You can practice in the covered, heated stalls, even in the dead of winter
-- Food and drinks are served
-- Really respectful, helpful staff (main counter, bar, wait staff, everyone!)

    Cons:
-- Expensive!! $7 for 20 balls is steep, especially when at a standard range $7 gets you around 50-70 balls.
-- Limited utility. The 5 main targets are 25, 50, 90, 125, 150 and 190 yards, along with the 260 "driver" target. This basically means that I am limited to hitting 5 clubs if I want to play the games. If I don't, I'm paying premium prices to hit overly used balls
-- Turf tee boxes and bad rubber tee selections. Turf tee boxes I can understand, but at least have a variety of tee lengths available at all tees. And if you are placed on the upper deck stalls, you can only use one half-inch rubber tee that is too high for fairway woods and too low for driver.

The concept is great, and for a social outing, it's very fun. But if you are looking to truly practice, go elsewhere. It might not be as fancy, but you'll at least get in some real practice. If you got 30 balls for $7, I'd rate this 4 stars.

Cousin takes me along with him so I eventually decided to get my own card. The people at the front desk are well chosen (Kevin) was great. Kevin had a smile on his face and dealt with us very professionally. I cant remember the name of the guy that was working the front desk sat night but he was welcoming as well! Never had a bad experience, however one thing that ticked me off was when the waiters would announce the prices... The days where I'm in a suit just off of work everything is cool. When my friends come along and I'm in jeans its like "hey that coffee is $3"... OK did I ask? Even though the whole waiter confirming you know the price thing is annoying some waiters actually know how to do their job like Kenna who was very courteous Parking isn't too bad people come and go very often. Thinking about getting that gold card however to make it really worth it id have to come every other night as well as having to pay every month without freezing the account if your not in town is kind of reminding me of the annoying gym membership. I was told their was an additional 125 starting fee and then 125 each month... or you may buy a pay as you go type card for $50 for a one time lifetime membership which comes with $50 to spend on games...
This place is awesome just some small things that could be better yet we all have to be reasonable to place is perfect. Almost forgot for cigar lovers they do have a small selection of cigars macanudo, Romeo y Julietta, is about all I can remember. The bartender Duncan also has a cutter if you forget yours!!! Nice guy... the way a bartender should be.

Would be 5 but off a 1/2 star for being a little on the pricy side and 1/2 star for a pretty lame putting green (it is (practically) putting on concrete).  Otherwise, most golfers should really enjoy themselves here!

Each game of 20 balls is $7. Still, about the most fun way to tune up driver/irons for accuracy you can imagine. Food and servce are pretty good bar fare.

If you're brand new, staying in the area and you can swing it, it makes a lot more sense to pay the $60 start up card (forget what they call it)  for all the games given.  You'll likely come back and use up the credit.

I enjoy this place for the simple fact that is souped up driving range. You could go and whack balls but it's more fun to play the games that they offer. They offer a military disocunt which is great and the games on Monday's are like $3 for military folks. The drink specials are good and the food is pretty good. If you're looking to change up the driving range feel or go out for a date night, this is a good place to do it.

i'm not a big lets go to the range and really get those balls going type of a girl. so top golf is totally up my alley. turns it into a friendly competition, plus they have wine and beer. no liquor bc they share a liquor license with apple bee's, or whatever that restaurant is in the same parking lot. i like the upstairs better because you can get the ball farther, and it makes me feel better about myself. hahah. they have warmers for colder weather, but i still get way too cold to enjoy it. either way - lots of fun - since each of the balls have trackers inside associated with your name. and the food is not horrible. not amazing, but decent if you actually get hungry. pitcher is sangria Is pretty delightful!

I had the pleasure of going to Top Golf 3 times this summer! I was there in June, July, and August for my 3 younger cousin's birthday parties.

When I first got there, I was surprised at how well Top Golf was able to seamlessly provide food/services/entertainment to a young crowd as well as an adult crowd at the same time! When I stepped in the door, I noticed that there were 2 bachelor parties as well as 2 pre-teen birthday parties on the whiteboard scheduler for that day - how diverse!

The weather cooperated wonderfully. We did putt-putt golf for the first 2 bday parties, and the driving range for the last one. I'm glad I had the opportunity to do both. The driving range is fantastic and the golfballs w/an electric chip in them allow you to keep score/track distance/and earn special deals if you make it into specific holes in the range. The putt-putt, on the other hand, was difficult to maneuver because there weren't many walking paths and it was hard to get from hole to hole.

    Overall, a great experience!

I adore this place! I can't play golf, but my husband loves it. We go here all the time because he can play "correctly" and I can play with a putter and try to hit balls into the closer red target. Their food is amazing! Not like the concession I expected at all. Last time I went, I had a buffalo chicken wrap and donuts that are served with plungers of chocolate and raspberry- you plunge the filling yourself. I believe it's between 3.75 and 4.00 per game but it's such a unique experience that it's well worth it to me.
I've always wanted to go in the winter with snow on the ground( they have giant heaters that blow right on you in the bays).

TopGolf is the only activity that my large and oddball family can agree on.

    - My dad likes the fact that all of the balls has a chip on it so he can track his range and show off his superb driving range skills. This is also the only place in the world where he can bring his family together and pretend that we are all successful pro Asian female golfers like he dreams us to all be.
    - My 12 year old brothers like the mini golf course.
    - My sister Kat V likes the fact that they have enough space that her toddler can move around without getting in everyone's way.
    - My mom, sister Kristina V and I like their sangria (like mother, like daughter).
    - And all of the other husbands/significant others are breathing a huge sigh of relief that we are not dragging them to eat tapas or a farmers market for once.

On a nice day, it really can't get any better than hitting a few balls, eating some cheese fries and grabbing a big frosty brew with loved ones. Prices are kind of expensive and the service is sloo--owww but for an hour of quality entertainment with your family TopGolf can't be beat!  This is also a great place to go with friends when hanging out a the local bar just isn't cutting it anymore.

It's a bit expensive, but if I ever decide to get into golf (which I might), this place would be a huge reason why I would. A game which consists of 20 balls costs around $7 which honestly doesn't last very long, but if you're with a group of friends and you're taking turns, it's not too bad.

The main allure of this place is that the balls have RFID tags embedded in them so you can track where your ball lands to a limited degree. Across the course, you'll see "targets" of varying size and distance with point values dependent on how close you are to the center of the targets. Point values dependent on how close you are to the center of the target- that's where the RFID's come into play. This really helps out your game and let you judge how accurate your shots are if you're being serious. If you're just having fun like the rest of us, it gives the whole experience a competitive feel to it.

I was with three other guys and we split into teams. Loser pays for a bucket of beer. They have the usual selection of domestic beer and the food they have there isn't anything to rave about but it'll tide you over until you decide it's time to go and eat somewhere nearby.

That said, you can pay the onetime fee of $40 to be a lifetime member and get $50 credit on your account to play games or you can pay for a card that will expire in a month and pay for each game from then on until the month period is over. If you plan on visiting more than twice in your lifetime, it's probably worth the money to just get the lifetime membership.

I love golfing even with how terrible I play. The idea of TopGolf is great and is decently executed. The atmosphere is great for friends and family to hang out, hit a few golf ball, and mostly importantly, a few brews! You can only have 5 people per bay which is a bummer if you come with 6 because you have to wait for two bays next to each other. The cheeseburgers are always a good safe bet. A decent selection of beer is available and buckets seem to be on special everytime I go. The golf balls don't always register when they land in the target. We had a problem with this last time I was here. My favorite is playing from the top row of bays but this comes with drawback such as the service for drinks and food seems to be a little slower on the upper deck. All in all, I like TopGolf a lot and will continue to come here.

This place is amazing, and has to be one of the coolest concepts of my lifetime. To be able to peruse the mini-golf course with some buds and some tallboys is a really awesome thing. Chilling out upstairs whacking golf balls with little tracking chips inside (again bucket of beer on the table) is equally as impressive.

Food was decent, I recommend getting a group together and sharing a brownie sundae.

Only downside was the service, in a place this vast, there simply needs to be more wait staff, waiting 20 minutes for a check is annoying, and unacceptable for drinks.

One last thing, if they dont have it set up, just ask... GIANT JENGA!!

Top Golf is a great spot to come whether you play golf or not. It lets you play some fun golf games with friends while drinking! I have come here with people that play golf and with people that don't, and everyone always has fun. You can also get free clubs if you don't own any. You can also play a wide variety of bro games outside in addition to put put.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they need to have an online reservation system, or allow you to reserve a booth over the phone. It sucks to come in and wait for an hour and half to get a booth.

As an avid golfer, my concept of a driving range is simply a place to hit balls, work out kinks in my swing, and practice. TopGolf technically gives you all this, but honestly, you're here to socialize, drink beer, and mess around.

Mess around. As in, there are targets for you to hit to, and each ball has tracking technology that is linked up to your own TopGolf card. Each ball that lands in a specific area of a target will show up on the small TV screen, and you can see how many points you got and how far the shot went. This can be useful to your golf game for a few reasons: accuracy and distance control. It can also equate to you trying too hard to get points, or getting points through luck (your ball rolls in, gets knocked in randomly).

Hence, come here to have fun. Sure, one can practice, but one is here to have fun. Maybe practice at the same time. Use the time to socialize with friends, especially those who do not play golf, but try to get something out of it as well. Prices are a bit steeper than traditional driving ranges, but this is far from traditional.

Service is awful, by the way. Takes forever to pay for your food/drinks. Food is pricey, and just simply not that good.

Last note, the parking lot is disgustingly awful. Tiny. Took me over 20 minutes of stalking people down for a spot. DO NOT park across the street. THEY WILL TOW. This and the service/food/prices makes TopGolf a 3 for me.

    That is all.

This is 4 stars just because I think the concept is amazing, but it is probably more of a 3 star from a service and food perspective.  I first found Top Golf in Dallas, TX and was glad to see the location in Alexandria when I moved to the area.  I have played golf my whole life (I am no professional though) and this place definitely makes golfing more fun!

If it is a nice weekend afternoon expect to wait at least 30 minutes to get a bay to hit from.  The GPS chips in the golf balls seem fairly accurate most of the time, but you do have to alter the points every once in a while - or get robbed of points - your choice.  This is a great place for golfers of all skill levels to have fun with friends or get some practice.  Warning though - if you are just practicing this place will get pretty pricey quickly at $6.50 for 20 balls.

There is a broad selection of mediocre food, but any food served to you at a 2 story driving range is better than most places.  The beer selection is minimal and basic, but who cares, you're getting beer from a server and playing golf.

Go, bring your friends, eat, drink, swing some metal sticks at little white balls!

Great concept!! Enjoyed the private area and overall atmosphere. Perfect place to have fun and not take yourself so seriously. I had a lot of fun!!! I do wish the food was better. The food was on the cold side and seemed like it was microwaved as a warming technique. Will come back to the driving range will just eat before!

I am fairly new to golf, and by new I mean i have never played outside of mini golf, and i really enjoy spending time at TopGolf! The wait staff was incredibly attentive and super nice!! The second time i went we had a pretty bad rain storm and lost power for a short while,, but during it all the wait staff still checked on us, served us and was super helpful in getting us going again when we regained power! This is such a fun way to spend a summer night with friends, drinking, laughing and hitting balls!

Sometime shortly after I hit my first 300 yard drive, I dreamed of starting a golf destination with GPS coded range balls, interactive chipping and long ball games, weather controlled bays, a wait staff, cold beer, hot nachos and cigars. My hopes were crushed when completely at random; I found this little gem across from the family stables in Dallas TX on a stuffy afternoon. It seems every golfer, ever, since the beginning of time has thought the very same thing.

Imagine my surprise when I moved to the greater DC metro area and yet another heavenly Top Golf destination is nearby. Top Golf is a myriad to many things, the single greatest of them, American excess. The first thing to consider is that this is not the range from Tin Cup, or any course for that matter. This isn't a range AT ALL. Its a monument to Golf, an exhibition to what we THINK golf is, rather than what really is.

There are no grass lined hitting bays, no seeded sand, no walking pros leaving tidbits of knowledge. They have been replaced by a full menu, a bar, and very capable wait staff. They even have a hostess. I can think of nowhere else in the Northern Virginia area one can bask in the sweet raunchiness of cigar smoke, corona breath and overpriced chicken strips.

I like Top Golf, but only in small bursts. My main reason for not coming more often is simply the price. True, no one else has GPS tagged balls that can be used to create some very interesting grudge matches. But one could still do that, at any range for that matter, providing at least one member had two working eyeballs and a pencil. The other reason I don't frequent more often is the crowd. There must be a line on the JMU and GMU frat charters that mandate the locals stay here and piss off the rest of the 2 Iron wielding Americans. I've never spent so much time around beer swilling, cigar smoking 23 year olds in upside down Calloway visors in my entire life.

The food is good - hey...you're paying enough for it, it better be. The beer is promptly served. They have fans in the summer and heaters in the winter for all the bays; trust me - its luxury. But between the screaming college co-eds, the endless lines, and the fact that I'm paying 7 dollars for 20 golf balls I wonder why I ever left my apartment.

I shake my head, because I know I'll be back.

I've been playing golf recreationally for a very long time.  It's one of those sports where you really can't get good unless you just hit balls over and over again.  That's why driving ranges are so common and popular.  TopGolf took a simple common product and turned it into an extravagant luxury.

In you own private bay (which can comfortably suit up to 5 people), you can sit, order food and drinks, and heckle your friends as they duff balls out onto the course.  Furthermore, Top Golf has turned a monotonous practice exercise into a fun and exciting game by introducing the computer chip inside the balls and the computerized scoring zones with which you aim.

Serious golfers will say that Top Golf is pricy, and yes that's true when you compare it to regular driving ranges.  But for the experience, I think it's totally worth the extra cost.  I love being able to hit ball after ball and having a waitress bring me beers, or gatorades, or even food.

I don't even live anywhere near Top Golf and I still manage to come here quite often.  That's how awesome this place is.

Very unique place that is quite fun. Great place to go to as a group and compete against friends.

I loved the food and drink service that is at every hitting mat and the prices (for food and beverages) weren't completely outrageous. Most meals were under $8-10 and drinks were standard price of $4-6.

My one qualm with this place is the cost to play. $6.50 per game is outrageous (1 game=20 balls). If you are playing with yourself or one other person it would be easy to do 2-3 games in an hour. Sure it is a unique concept but it costs to much. In addition to that to get an initial game card it is a minimum $5 fee (for one time use). I got the $40 "Lifetime" option which include $50 gameplay credit (appx. 7 games) simply because it made the most sense (seems like they designed it that way.)

If looking for a driving range to hit a bucket of balls after work, this isn't the place to go simply because of the price and hitting a 300+ yard drive will go beyond the back fence. However, if looking for a fun (and a tad pricy) group activity, Top Golf is a good option.

I am surprised I never knew about this before.

This is a spot that has a driving range and miniature golf in one. It also has a restaurant/bar with outdoor seating for those nice days and nights. My first time here was a Saturday night during Father's Day weekend, probably NOT the best time to come. But I thought it was a nice facility. Prices are standard. Service is efficient and pretty quick. The driving range had at least a 2 hour wait time, which is a little nuts. So we decided to go with the miniature golf which was hard to get through. We had to wait for each course to clear before we could play, and it was a little discouraging. We actually ended up getting bored, and ending the game sooner.

The driving range looks fun and pretty comfortable if you are don't mind waiting in line, or getting there early enough to grab a spot. I wouldn't mind coming back to try out the driving range. But the miniature golf, I would definitely need to come when it isn't so busy. The worst thing about this place is the parking. They share a parking lot with Ruby Tuesday and it gets PACKED. It took me about 15 minutes to find parking, during that time I encountered and witnessed 3 parking lot arguments.

It's a nice facility and again, if you can get a spot when it isn't too crazy. I imagine it to be quite fun and probably one of the best driving ranges in the area.

I didn't eat at the restaurant or drink at the bar, so this review is only for the actual golfing facility.

Oh, TopGolf... If only being with you didn't make me wonder if I've ever played golf before...

I have a low-grade love affair with you, TopGolf. Problem is, I'm feeling like it's a bit one-sided. When we're together, I always have to come to your place. I like it there - you have two stories and plenty  of space. Your staff is helpful and friendly. Everything is shiny and colorful. But, I always leave feeling like I poured more of my time and effort into a damaging relationship.

As a true golfer, I like the IDEA of you, TopGolf, but I leave feeling a little dirty. I sacrificed the serenity, solitude, and security of an older, more established relationship, in favor of colored bins and a waitress who brings me drinks. Granted, she does bring drinks, and while that can't be over-appreciated, the result of all this: the drinks, the overly casual atmosphere, the availability of cheese sticks and nachos, and the video-gamey feel that accompanies every swing (because the ball is tracked by a chip inside)...is that I'm in love with you. But it's just not going to work out.

It's not you at all, it's me. I, and I suspect many others like me, while we enjoy your offerings, will, after repeated visits, see our skills dwindle in the hollow quest for points. So, TopGolf, so love you, but, lets just be friends...

Nice driving range, but it is recommended you arrive by 6 PM to secure adjacent spots without reservations.  One must be a club member to be able to make reservations.  The putt-putt area is my favorite because of varying degrees of difficulty.  Great for kids.  Parking can be a bit hard to find after 6:30 PM.  The staff here are friendly, but not very attentive.  Food options, particularly nachos, are decent.  Why are there only four bottles of beer in a bucket?  Shouldn't there be six?  Anyway, this driving range is very well-kept and is highly recommended.

TopGolf is a really fun place to have a few beers and hit golf balls with friends, that being said, people who want to come and seriously practice their swing probably won't like this place.

TopGolf amounts to a bar with a driving range, its crowded and noisy and a bit pricey.   Its essentially the Dave and Busters of Golfing.  The GPS enabled balls make for a fun game with friends, but $6 for 20 balls is really expensive if you want to spend the afternoon at the driving range for practice.

I came here once probably 4 years ago for a work happy hour, and never came back until last weekend when boyfriend and I decided to go on a mini golf date. Now I wonder why it took me so long to go back, and I'm looking forward to going again, perhaps for the actual Top Golf game this time.

We played 2 rounds of mini golf, one each on their two courses with a break in between for a snack and a drink. They have a wide selection of beer and wine, but no liquor, and a full menu of bar snacks, burgers, sandwiches, and the like. Prices are absolutely reasonable, which is smart considering the number of other options available very close by.

The actual Top Golf part of it looks like a big driving range, but with targets. Your balls are registered to you with chips or something, and the computers keep score as you hit the balls at the targets.

I don't even like golf, but this place is a blast. It's almost always slammed, though, so best bet is probably to get there early. If you get there and its crazy busy, they put you on a list like at a restaurant and encourage you to hang at the bar and wait for a bay. They'll even transfer your bar tab to your bay once you move. Parking can also be a little dicey.

All in all, a good place for a fun weekend afternoon or happy hour get together. Some people take it seriously, some are just there for fun. I'll take the fun, please.

The TopGolf staff is AMAZING!  They will hunt down and tee off on bad customers on behalf of the good customers! Sounds interesting?  If so, then read on!

    **DETAILS**
My buddy and I dispersed 3 games worth of golf balls using our own TG card.  When it was his turn to play he noticed some of his balls were not registering correctly on the monitor.  For those who've never played TG, the golf balls are synced up to your TG card allowing the monitor to read distance and points obtained from hitting close to the holes.

The behavior was odd as he was trying to hit his first golf ball but the monitor was displaying a different numbered golf ball, e.g. 5th golf ball.  Initially we ignored this unusual behavior and finished playing two games.

Yet we noticed the odd behavior still occurring before he began the third game.  As a result, he decided to get the last game credited to his account.  We explained the situation to the front desk and they asked for his card.  My buddy then realized he left his card in the golf ball dispense machine.

The TG staff then realized another customer had intentionally used my buddy's card and dispersed his golf balls to play.  This explained why the golf balls were registering incorrectly on the monitor as someone else was hitting my buddy's golf balls!

Fortunately the TG staff was able track down this golfing criminal and asked for an explanation along with my buddy's card.  This person stated he was accidentally using his balls.  An unlikely story in my opinion; however, he offered to pay back the games he used on my buddy's card.  The TG staff immediately credited my buddy's card.

    **SUMMARY**
    - Remember to collect your TG card after receiving your golf balls.
    - If you happen to find an abandoned TG card, simply return it to the TG staff.
    - Don't ever use an abandoned TG card otherwise the TG staff will hunt and track you down!

Despite my awful driving range skills (is that what you call it?) this place is really fun.

First and foremost: parking blows. Give yourself plenty of time to stalk someone to get their parking spot and fighting others to get it.

Once there you check in. Get a lifetime membership for $40 that comes with tons of game credits, or if you' fear the commitment like I did, spring for the $5 guest pass (good for 30 days) and add games to it. I believe it's $6 per game. I wanted to be sure I loved it before I splurged, even though it's basically free games on the lifetime card.

Then you go over to the golf ball vending machine where you put in your card and it spits out the required amount of balls.

Now my companion took care of getting a bay for us so I wasn't involved in that process but he said that he was able to go right up and get a bay without reservations, and this was 6:30-7 pm on a Thursday night. The place was obviously hopping considering how busy Top Golf was and how crazy the parking lot situation was.

Once up there you set your balls up into the green thing which reads the balls and recognizes they're yours. This is where the extra cost comes in. Most driving ranges are cheap because all you do is get balls and hit them. Top Golf actually uses technology to associate your balls to your account, so when it's your turn it measures the distance, if you hit any targets, then you get points. So you're not just mindlessly hitting balls into the abyss. If abyss balls is your thing, go to a regular driving range.

While you're in your bay you also get a server whom you can order food and drinks from. Ours was great in terms of checking up on us - we never felt like we had to hunt her down. I ordered the veggie burger (the guac on top enticed me) which was surprisingly good, as were the fries.

Overall it's a really great facility - clean, lively, full of people of all ages and types, very entertaining. I would totally come here again but maybe I need to go the regular driving range first to work on my skill then come back to Top Golf for actual butt kicking :)

This place is awesome!  Got there early on St Patties Day it was not packed at all, although on some regular weekends it does get packed, and sometimes there is a 1-2 hour wait.  But all in all this place is great they have a lifetime membership that is $40 dollars, and also gives you an extra $40 dollars of play time added to the card.  The food is good and the beer is even better:)

Our waiter Danny was awesome, was very helpful since it was our first time, and was always prompt with bringing out our food or drinks.

The place apparently doesn't have a liquor license, but they have a full selection of beer and sangria on the menu as well as wine.  I'm not a liquor type of person so that really didn't matter to me.  I'm assuming it may be because the place caters to young people as well, I honestly don't know.

All in all the place was great and is fun for everyone!

The secret to this place is coming during the week.

    Weekend:
*Circling the shark tank, i mean parking lot, for 30 minutes to get a spot.
*45-60 minute wait that ended up being 1:20 wait.
*Jammed bar area = 10 minute wait for a glass of wine.
*Really slow table service...waiters are hustling, there's just not enough to go around.
*Babies and kids.  Lots of babies and kids.
*General sense of mayhem and mania.

    Weekday:
    *Parking right up front.
*Walk right in, pick your perfect bay.
    *Speedy service, hot food.
*Occasional visit and greeting from the manager Willie.
*Ladies:  more handsome professionals than you can swing a club at.

I'm stunned that people can say anything about the menu.  Most range cafes offer burgers and turkey melts.  Here, you can get a caprese salad, paninis and wraps, sangria, smokehouse bbq burger, hummus, etc, etc, etc...are you serious?  People's expectations surprise me sometimes.

This is a great place to come as a group....even for non-golfers.  Pub tables, music, heated bays, (lower bays have sliding glass garage doors too), table service...and $6.50 a game.  What's not to love?

In the summers, I hear they are open till 1am on the weekends.  Great alternative to a typical Saturday night pub crawl.

As a person who doesn't golf, I had a pretty decent time at Top Golf.  It's a great way to kill some time with friends when the weather is nice, and the tables, chairs, and waiter service mean that if someone doesn't play, they can still have a good time.

Since I'm a terrible golfer (this was my first time at the driving range), I'll focus this review on their food and beverages.  On the plus side, everything was really cheap.  On the negative side, this often reflected the quality.  The sweet potato fries were good.  The regular fries were OK.  The macaroni and cheese was undoubtedly Kraft brand mac and cheese out of the box, which was rather pathetic to me.  My glass of sangria tasted like fruit punch, but it was enormous and strong, and I still drank it all.

Service was friendly, but it was pretty clear that the servers were overstretched.  We saw them maybe once or twice an hour, which is annoying if you're there for food.  This place would get a full extra star if they had some kind of system where you could order through their golf touchscreen, or even some kind of primitive intercom thing like Sonic has.

I've had this place on my list of things to review for months, but I never knew where to start...
Maybe with: I suck at Golf? as in I am actually reaaalllyy reaallly bad? haha Anyways Top Gold doesn't offer you the regular golf course. With everything automated and with you staying in one place and hitting away golf balls, I think Top Golf is the perfect place to come when you want to get some energy out or maybe want to go boxing but don't want to sweat as much.

I love the fact that it's an open air area with heaters around; however nothing excites me about their menu, so if you're here just enjoy the view, the game, the company and head somewhere else later to enjoy actual food!

    :)

Like this place, its much better in the spring and summer than in the winter of course.

The food is an accent mire than a draw.  If you get a chance to snag a groupon here its more worth it.

More than a driving range this place provides fun from the golf newbie to the weekend warrior.

What a cool place to hang out!  I love the idea of a more interactive driving range where you can actually be served food and beer while working on your golf game.  I came here with some friends and the waitress was very attentive and friendly.  We may have gotten a little rowdy, but nobody made a big deal.

If you are into food challenges, you may also want to check this out.  They have the Grizzly Challenge which is a 1 lb burger with all the fixings, 2 pickle spears, 2 orders of fries, and a brownie sundae to top it off.  You have to do this in 20 minutes or less.  For completely gorging myself, I recieved the meal for free(saved $22), a beer coozy, a size medium t-shirt(I am 6'4"), and a good stomach ache.

If you enjoy golf, food, and beer, definitely check this place out!

Ok, the concept is nice. Driving range where you can get drinks. Dream come true for some.

Boyfriend had the Groupon for here. He said this was fun, so we finally made our way to Top Golf.

The parking lot was packed and I took this as a good sign; people liked it here.

You can't just pay and play. Nooooooo. They make you give your name, birthdate, turn your head and cough and promise your first born. All that for the use of some clubs and balls. So after what seemed like an eternity, we were given the go ahead to proceed to the end of the counter to get our clubs.

After that, you're sent to what looks like a host stand. The guy told us that there was a wait and asked for a cell phone number to call us when something was free. Great! The wait was only 15-25 minutes, so we sat down and were going to get drinks. Well, the host rushed over and told us that our golfing area was ready, so we ended up waiting all of 2 minutes. NICE! he told us to head to #13.

So we get to #13 and a guy was happily golfing away. This is an issue. Boyfriend went to alert someone. Meanwhile, another patron tells me that #15 is free. I stood in #15, but did nothing, unsure if I was supposed to be there. A few minutes later, a guy comes back and rectifies the situation and we are allowed to stay at #15. But it seemed like no one knew what was supposed to be going on; everyone was sort of running around in a tizzy.

The cool thing about this place is that they have servers who come around and take your order and deliver your food to you right there while you're playing. This would have been really nice if we had a decent server. She made it very clear that she wanted to be anywhere else but there. I guess it was getting to be time for her shift to end (actually, I don't guess -- I know. She said it.) She asked us if we could please pay then because she was trying to get out of there. Nevermind that we may have wanted more than the cheese fries that we ordered. But, what really made me mad was when she went to the table next to us and said that she would transfer their check to the next server. But ours couldn't be transfered?

This place seems to be run by relatively young folks. I don't know if anyone I encountered was over the age of 16, except for the waitress, obviously, because she served beer. This is why it wasn't even worth going to get a manager when the server acted so ill about wanting to leave. Hey, when I worked as a server and I wanted to leave, I worked that out with my manager, not the patrons.

The overall experience was "meh". Customer service means a lot to me and it seems like these folks have a little to learn. As I said, nice concept. We had fun.

I wanted to give this a 4, but couldn't.  Overall, if you like golf, this is absolutely a fun place to go have a few beers and play some games.  It's a great concept to be able to challange your friends that are at all different levels in their golf game.  You never know if you're going to have a 10 point day, or a 110 point day.  Certainly cannot beat the concept.  The fact that they sell beer helps a ton.  And they also expanded their menu.  The food isn't the greatest, but having more choices than they used to eases that pain.

The reason I went with 3 instead of 4 is for two things.  First, the service here isn't always the best.  I think it is more the fault of management though.  There seems to be too few people working no matter what time of day.  Sure, there are days it's great, but far too many days where it takes a while before anyone comes up to you.  And the second thing is really the cost.  $6 a game, or 20 balls, is a lot.  I don't mind paying it because it's entertainment, pretty much on par with a game of bowling.  However with that cost, I feel like the sensors in the holes should be more effective.  Mats (which seem to warp a lot), could be replaced more often.  They just recently "renovated" the area, so it is nice right now.

The place has taken off and at the busy times, good luck finding a parking spot.  I think it's raking in the $ at this point, so hopefully they'll use some of that to continue to upgrade what is a really great idea.

TopGolf is what happens when you cast Arnold Palmer in the porn version of Terminator 4.

A bunch of color-coded earth anuses pursing throughout a driving range, monitored by SkyNet and pitting man against woman. Or man against man. Or woman against woman while man watches. No pets allowed.

Dumb it down? Sure. If golf is what bowling was before automated scoring, TopGolf is bowling five years from now. It's great for groups (listed!) and if you've got one of those boners to play every week, have Tuesday afternoons off, or are in the military, it's pretty inexpensive.

Balls are microchipped and you are named their daddy. As they drop in precarious rings around various targets, you get a running point score displayed very publicly in your own little wall-less cabana. It's outdoor industrial, Jetsonian recreation with full service from their stadium-quality menu. Still hooking it? Drink beer.

No system is perfect. That said, it does get frustrating when you're neck and neck with your best friend, and that chipper for win doesn't register in their system. Loss at the hands of technology. You damn dirty APIs!

Still fun, genuinely unique and an easy way to kill a few hours. Along with your patience.

I don't golf, but I came here with friends who do. The place is clean, the grass where the balls land on look well manicured. The servers provide very good service with the beers and stuff.

I loved the other patrons. They are just so darn friendly and they have no qualms about giving you tips. After watching one of my friends shoot a perfect shot, a neighbor busted out his expensive Callaway golf club (don't know what kind it was but it was supposed to be pretty nice) for my friend to try. Surprisingly, the crowd here is very diverse..you have men of different age ranges and women too! I really had no idea so many women were into golfing. Definitely a great experience.

The location isn't hard to find and the parking is plentiful. Definitely recommend for those golf enthusiasts looking to practice their swing! =)

This place reminds me of a golf version of Lucky Strike. Grab a few friends, park yourselves in a bay, hit some balls, drink some beer, and eat a burger. That's basically how it goes here.

There are a bunch of colored targets for you to aim at. The closer into the center of the target your ball falls, the more points you get. (Your balls are microchipped when you insert your card to purchase them.) You do have to get your ball into a target in order for it to count no matter how far you launch it. Top Golf keeps track of everyone's scores that day and ranks them on the leader board. They calculate your handicap and keep track of your highest score too.

It's lots of fun, but it's really not a place to hit balls if you want to get in a good practice session. $6 for 20 balls (which is considered one game)-- a little pricey. I got the lifetime membership card which came with a bunch of free games, so I'd recommend that if you plan to play here a lot.

It's covered, heated in the winter, and its hilltop location helps it get a nice breeze, so it's not too hot in the summer. Free club rental too if you need them. If you come often enough, the wait staff gets to know you and treats you pretty well.

There's nothing more summertime than shooting a round of mini golf. The lady suggested we check this place out, as she had driven by it in days past. Neither one of us knew what to expect (save for the Yelp reviews).

We got there around 9pm on a Saturday and it was hoppin'. People inside, people outside, people swinging clubs from just about every spot on the driving range.

We walked past the live cover band and to the mini golf area. The attendant informed us that both the "valley" and "mountain" course were really busy. We picked mountain. The whole time though, the wait wasn't too bad at all. I've waited longer playing putt-putt at the beach.

The mountain course wasn't filled with fiberglass dragons and wooden windmills, just a whole (hole?) lot of challenging terrain and big space. Rather than hitting through gravel and worn spots like some other places, here the putting actually felt technical. It was great.

Grabbed a beer afterward and just relaxed. Again, this place was in full swing (hah!), so a nice spot to people watch.

I can't speak of the driving range, but I'd definitely head back to check it out and hit another round of mini golf.

If you haven't figured it out already, Top Golf isn't a regular driving range.  There should actually be two rating for this place because it falls into two categories.

    DRIVING RANGE
As a pure driving range this place is horrible.  The price is $6 for 20 balls.  The average range costs $12 for 100 balls.  In fact, you can drive five minutes down from Top Golf to HillTop and for $12 you get 105 balls.  So, from a pure driving range perspective this place is insanely expensive.  This is obviously due to the technology in the balls (computer chips).

    HANG OUT
As a fun place to hang out this place is pretty nice.  The place has drinks and food for a surprisingly decent price.  And, if you're coming here you're not coming just to hit a few balls.  You're coming here with a bunch of friends and hanging out for at least 40 minutes to an hour if not longer.  This is more of a sports bar that happens to be built around a golf range with cool computer chips.  But, the balls only tell you how far it's gone if the ball goes into the circular holes on the turf.  If you miss the holes there is no distance reading.

    CONCLUSION
Overall, this is a fun place to visit.  But, it does get very loud and crowded from 6pm until close.  And, the service is insanely slow because they are very much understaffed.  The staff there is great, but they need help big time.  Twice I've been there and waited over 20 minutes to see a waiter.  Also, I can't stress how loud this place gets.  Sometimes it feels like I'm at a local college bar.  Bottom line is if you're looking to hit balls to better your game go elsewhere, but for a local hangout with friends it's not too bad.

A trip even to the general vicinity of this place, ie the parking lot, makes it evident that it is a total catastrophe.  If you find the cries of "SON OF A F&@KING BI@!H $*IT!" echoing from the driving range bays to be enticing rather than a deterrent, make sure you take care finding a parking place:  You'll invariably be navigating around illegally parked Jeep Wranglers, cop cars (with cops inside finishing up their battery/public intoxication reports), or a stream of total bros and their girlfriends, who I've usually seen trudging into the place carrying their boyfriend's clubs.

My first and last visit inside this place came at the behest of a good friend/avid TopGolf fan.  My experience began with the aforementioned parking lot idiocy, was followed by epic incompetency and complete failure of services/functions: no drivers, grossly incorrect waiting times, no service in the bar/restaurant, and finally, malfunctioning ball-dispensing machines.  After waiting about 90 minutes to play or eat, I gave up, quit, and got my $40 "lifetime membership" refunded, which in itself was a challenge.

On my way out, TopGolf capped off the evening with the lights and sounds of the fire department because some drunk idiot fell off the second level balcony.

The management has assured me that this evening was not the regular TopGolf experience, and I am sure I caught a bad night.  However, it seems everyone that has heard this story was also there when some drunk bro fell off the balcony "last year," "last month," or even "last week." I don't plan on giving this place another shot any time soon...

I do, however, smell a solid viral marketing campaign:

"bro, do you wanna go to TopGolf and fall off the balcony, bro?"
